Lawler Custom Exteriors Inc gave me a very brief estimate and he basically said it is going to cost USD 295 to send someone out to your house. He didn't come out to see what needed to be done and checked on Google map so he didn't know the extent of the work required. I looked at it like he gave me a quote but if he found more work, he would charge me more. I called them and someone answered the phone and he called me back later the same day and he probably could have someone come out the next day but I just didn't feel comfortable about the quote because he didn't come out to check.

Good experience overall, especially since we had to go through an insurance company for approvals. Roof seems fine, and paint job was professional. We aren't thrilled with the deck job; the stain/paint is already wearing off, but that is the only minor issue. They were professional, and the only thing that got a B rating was their communication. We were never sure when they were coming. Not a big deal, and they were able to complete the job pretty quickly. We would recommend them. Thanks!

Lawler'sworkers showed up on time and got right to work. They replaced a piece of down spout and cleaned clogged gutters. They had all the tools and parts on their truck. They had the work done in a very timely manner.

I purchased a Big Deal from Lawler Custom Exteriors, Inc, which included the following: (quoted directly from the coupon) This "Big Deal" Includes: · Gutter cleaning · Flushing downspouts · Hauling of any related debris (if necessary) · Remove existing gutter system · Professional installation of Shurflo gutter protection · Lifetime warranty for clogging of any debris My issue with this ?Big Deal? is that my gutters were not replaced. I understood ?remove existing gutter system? to mean replacement of the gutter itself. I spoke with Jim Lawler directly and explained I needed the front gutter replaced, but not the rear. If this ?Big Deal? did not include the replacement of my gutters I assume he would have told me so during that conversation. I paid $595 for cleaning of my gutters and installation of the ?Shur Flo? product, essentially a gutter cover. I would not have purchased this ?Big Deal? had I known it did not include new gutters. I spoke with a contractor friend who explained he purchases ?Shur Flo? for all of his rental homes for $1 per foot and it is a very simple install. I could have had my gutters professionally cleaned, purchased the ?Shur Flo? product myself and paid someone to install it for significantly less than $595. Despite my issues with this deal, I did find Mr. Lawler courteous, quick to respond to my phone calls and the work was done quickly. The ?Shur Flo? product has also kept my gutters debris free since the install.

Everything went great from initial inspection through end of job. Talked to owner as well as foreman on job. Both were very professional. Answered questions when I asked. Arrived on time and worked until sunset. When could not finish in one day as initially promised, worked to make sure additional days' work was not imposing on us. Only issue was that when workmen ate lunch in backyard one day, someone left orange peel from their lunch on the ground. Otherwise everything from the job was cleaned up at the end of each day. Dumpster was removed at end of job. Quote was very realistic since we could not judge how much carpentry work was needed until the roof was opened.

Jim Lawler the owner was extreamly knowledgeable about his profession. He made proposals and suggestions about up-grades that were helpful and necessary. I accepted his proposals and ideas because he was right His suggestions and pricing were the correct way to roof our house, in addition he was more than competitive. His roofing crew had been together for many years and it showed. There were no cutting corners. The whole job could not have been better. They were fine. The work took a little longer than we anticipated. I had to remind the owner about a free upgrade in the cost and he did honor the change in price at the end.

Jim was the clear choice among the providers I evaluated for a job of this scale and comprehensiveness; others just wanted to do certain parts, which would have forced me into the general contractor role. He made a number of good suggestions to help get every detail right. Our new ridge vent and eave vent systems dramatically improved the comfort of the second story of our house in the summer, as he promised. With the heat wave of 2012 immediately following the installation of our new roof, he delivered just in time!

The estimate was done on a timely basis as was the installation. It was done well and without drama. We are very happy.

The crew arrived on time. They worked hard and even worked through the weekend to get the roof finished quickly. Had some communication issues, but we were able to resolve them.

Overall, everything went extremely well. Jim was very considerate, open and let us know what options were available to us, then let us decide without any pressure. The crew was quick and efficient. Although there were a few nails and cigarette butts left in the yard, it was so minimal as to be totally insignificant. We have had roofing done before and this was far and away the best clean up I have seen. We had a little complication with our lender having to sign the reimbursement checks from the insurance company, but Jim actually explained to me that this was not unusual. I wanted to go ahead and pay him prior to the checks arriving, but Jim told me no, to wait until everything had cleared and write one check then.

I explained we had storm damage. He asked if we got an estimate from the insurance company. I said "yes." He said he needed the insurance paper work for the list of repairs and the cost of repairs. I asked why he needed to know how much the insurance agency was going to pay me? He went on to explain that he could possibly give me upgrades. He was demeaning after that saying I was not understanding him and we were just talking in circles. I want to make sure I am not going over budget. I talked insurance agent and they said this was not a common practice. He would not come out unless I gave him the insurance information with the dollar value.

Response time for initial quote from Jim Lawler was quick. He is easy to talk to and understand. From quote to job being finished was 1 month and that could have been two weeks faster had we (the customer) returned the signed contract faster. We looked at one other bid, but it was $3,000 more expensive for similar specs (and that was after coming down $2000). Maybe the shingles were of a higher grade, but we couldn't figure out why it would be that much more expensive. Lawler was in and out in 1.5 days. They finished most of the roof the first day on a very hot day and came back the next morning to finish the job. They cleaned the yard of nails and debris and did a good job. I surveyed the yard the next day or two for nails and have only found a few. Overall, we were very satisfied with the company and the job they did for us. The reason we gave them a "B" for punctuality is because they got hung up on another job and didn't make it on the day we thought they would be at our house. Not a problem, but we had planned to be gone on the day they roofed as it is very loud.

We initially asked for an estimate for replacing our roof only. After performing his initial inspection for the estimate, Mr. Lawler took the time to sit down with us and explain the details of his estiamte report. He then notified us a few days later of a manufacturer's discount that had become available. Later, we decided to have the gutters replaced as well. Mr. Lawler was very accomidating in revising the overall estimate. His initial price estimate was very competitive, and he was quite flexible in meeting our needs. The workers arrived at our house by 7:30am on the scheduled start date and completed the work in an efficient & professional manner. We actually left for vacation while the gutters were being completed, but Mr. Lawler was in contact with us by phone throughout the process. He was also kind enough to refer us to another "handyman" to address a separate roof issue we inquired about. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience and results, and we would recommend Lawler Custom Exteriors to others.

Had a great selection of products to choose from as well as any extras that could be added. Price was very reasonable and comparable to the other bids we received. Chose Lawler over the others because we felt their product was superior (we did some of our own research), they were a local company, and they did not pressure us with their sales pitch. We were told up front about additional charges that may be incurred (only had to replace one piece of plywood). They were able to fit us in quickly in their schedule and the job took approximately 3 days. Roof looks great!

They do really well and are upfront with their client. They are well insured and they definitely have a knowledge base for the industry. I would refer them to a friend. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Quick estimate and service no muss or fuss

They brought out a large crew - four guys - and as a result the finished the job much faster than they would have. Jim Lawler was quick to respond to my phone calls, and did a good job explaining the options for the job. The crew was polite and clean. No problems with the work that I can detected and all is well. I'm taking off just a few points because the crew discovered after work started that there were two layers of old shingle on the roof, not one. Therefore, there was a small additional charge for the extra work and extra dumpster capacity needed. It was under $100 and not significant relative to overall cost. Also, it was not an unreasonable charge. I wouldn't have been bothered had it been in the estimate. But hearing about it later and then being told that it's unusual for a roof to have multiple layers and therefore they missed it was a small blemish against the overall high level of professionalism. I'm pretty certain roofs often have multiple layers of old shingle if they're moderately old. When I expressed this, he agreed to cut the extra charge by half.

Complete re-roofing, including replacing 36 boards. The crew showed me the boards before they wewre replaced (I went up on the roof), and I asked them to replace a few they thought could have waited. I thought that was a sign of customer care. Jim honored each small side job we verbally agreed upon (painted metal furnace flue, patched a leaking gutter, reinstall a bath room vent). They thoroughly cleaned up all of the debris in the yard and on the driveway. Jim and his crew did a wonderful, professional job.

Great. They were prompt to visit and bid the job, and arrived on the promised date to start the work. The work was done efficiently and with care. Performed cleanup each day of work and were done on time. Dealing with the sales person, the job foreman, and everyone in the process was pleasant, and they were very polite and courteous.

The job was done in a satisfactory and timely manner. We did have a small problem with the guttering a few months after the work was completed. Jim Lawler resolved the problem immediately.

Lawler was quick to respond, when we called him last year. We called Jim Lawler back this year to do the work, and he set up the installation within a couple of weeks. Derek was the installer and he did a great job.
