Description of Work: If I tell the truth, this provider will "bad mouth" our family as he has a history of doing on your web site... |This person/company took our family to court, as we did not pay the final $1,800.00 due as Lawler REFUSED to make the necessary repairs to our dwelling roof, after his employees damaged same from hauling debris off our dwelling roof. His Lawyer lied in court and I refused to back down and pay a lesser fee, in order to accommodate Mr. Lawler... We have to have principals...You should remove this company from your list of "good" companies. You should read Mr. Lawler's comments about some of his clients on your site. He has lied & cheated to his clients and taken more funds than what was due to him. Does your company investigate people like Mr. Lawler? You should.

Description of Work: I called to schedule a date for the gutter cleaning and was told Mr. Lawler would call me back. he did call back and that is when he left a voice mail that indicated he did not offer the services for IL.

Description of Work: When I bought this home in 2012, I found out that squirrels were living in the soffits, getting in by the gutters. The gutter covers were installed years ago and the design left openings for critters and birds to get in. After I contacted Jim Lawler, he sent out his foreman to bid the job to install new gutter covers. He assured me many times that it would absolutely fix the problem and it did. I am totally pleased with their gutter covers and would recommend them to anyone with a similar problem. I haven't heard one critter scampering around in the soffits, problem solved.

Description of Work: Had Lawler out to estimate job before ordering on Angie's list as my roof is larger than what is covered by the promotion and I also wanted them to cover my fascia with aluminum wrap. Both Jim and Bill were responsive and professional. They completed the job on time. Both communicated well via email which helped since I live out of town. I like that I had several shingle colors to choose from. The new roof and trim look great and I've had no more leaks since they finished the job.

Description of Work: They took over two months to provide the service and even though I asked them not to provide the service when no one was home they did anyway. Give the calculations of when they called and when they finished it appears that they spent very little time performing the service. I then received a bill for $251 above and beyond what I'd already paid on Angie's list. I was expecting to be consulted before additional services were performed but I wasn't. I was just billed for them. When I called about it they kept trying to sell me a new roof (even though we do not need a new roof) and kept telling me that next year they can give me a better deal if I don't go through Angie's list. They said they had to charge more this time because so much of the cost goes to Angie's list. They then said that the told A's L not to put so much information in the fine print and that is why I was charged more. There was no fine print. I read the deal just fine. They totally took advantage of the deal and because of this I do not trust them in the least. I will not use Lawler again nor will I use Angie's list again.

Description of Work: They replaced my roof. It looks great and a decent price. However, they are poor at cleaning up after themselves I found stacks of old shingles and nails both on the roof and in corner in my yard.

Description of Work: The crew showed up unannounced in the afternoon. I explained to them that I had covers on my gutters and that they probably wouldn't need to be cleaned, but I needed to have them inspected for leakage because I had been having a few problems and pointed out one of them right over the front door. The crew leader told me they had only been told to clean out the gutters; he took his ladder and crew and proceeded to climb up. He told me I would have to "talk to the boss about any work that might have to be done." I left them to their work and heard them go around to the backyard. I still wanted to know what kind of condition the gutters were in -- but -- they had already left!!!! The truck was gone and so were they. They couldn't have been here more than 5 - 6 minutes. What a ripoff! I got a telephone call from the owner of the business telling me what it would cost to replace the gutters. I told him I couldn't afford it and before I could find out why the crew had left so quickly, he hung up. Like I said: What a ripoff! A fool and his money are soon parted. I won't be doing that again.

Description of Work: This entire ordeal was horrific. It really seems as though this is a bait and switch deal. I have attempted to resolve it numerous times but they came up with different ways to get more money.

Description of Work: Watch out the good deal pricing, read the fine print carefully, it may cost extra when the contractor comes to do the paid job.

Description of Work: Sub contractor came unannounced to clean gutters. Had I not been home |would not have known the job was done. As far as the cleaning of gutters, |the job was satisfactory.
