Description of Work: When the kitchen drain blocked up, I tried to fix it myself. I have a "snake" which was a $60.00 investment at Home Depot that was a waste of money, and then tried the old faithful, a 12" hose that attaches to the end of the garden hose, and when shoved down the drain pipe with the water turned on, an exceptionally high pressure jet "breaks up completely" the clog. That was $12.00. So $72.00 later, a mess worse than hurricane Katrina, and words that I should not use, I checked on Angies List. A&J drain service had 50+ A ratings from clients all over the metro. I thought that given the $30.00 coupon, I would give them a chance. I called at 6 P.M. and was asked if I wanted the company to fix it on an overtime basis, or wait until the next day. I was promised a 1 P.M. service call. At 12:30 Art was at the door and by 1:15, he had cleaned the drain, explained the problem and told us how to prevent the recurrence. He was polite, clean, and demonstrated professional integrity. I appreciate this company and their employees. They made a commitment and did the work they promised. We have a clear drain, and they did not charge an unreasonable fee. What more can you ask for? Well I could ask Home Depot to return my money for the stuff I bought from them, but I know better than to try.

Description of Work: My basement drain was clogged with silt, leaves, roots. I called a 9 am, They were there by 11.30. Spent 1 and 1/2 hrs rooting out the drain. Fantastic!

Description of Work: First we noticed an unpleasant smell in the house. Then, while in the basement, we noticed the sewer had backed-up in the drain. We called A & J Drain and they were at our home by 5:15 that afternoon. The gentleman stayed until 7:00 and had one of the drains open. He said he was bringing his manager back with him the next day, which was a Saturday (at no weekend charge). The two individuals worked on the second stack for two hours. They finally got it open. They only charged $200 for the two days of work. Both stacks are open. They did tell us our drain trap was too high and they even gave us the name of a plumer in the area that we could use if we decided to do anything about the trap. Both individuals were professional and we would use them again.

Description of Work: Cleaned and replaced broken in ground drain pipe. all aspects of experience was outstanding including asking to be called back to let them know if drain functioning as it should. Would recommend them to all.
