2 employees arrived on time, snaked down and cleared clog near the toilet trap. Without checking, one of them simply concluded that it was a calcium build up in the trap and that was common with "newer" toilets. He further suggested that these toilets would often not last more than 9 or 10 years and even gave me an estimate on A&J installing a new toilet. He said with this calcium build up that it would probably clog again. 2 days later, the toilet clogged again and I used my snake to clear it. When I retracted the snake it grabbed a spring-like "ball" similar to (or actually) a mixing spring from a "blender bottle". It was stuck near the toilet trap and entangled with my snake. This was clearly the problem and could have been detected by probing (as I did with the snake) or by camera inspection. The toilet now flushes like brand new. For $120, all I expected was determining the cause of my clogs and I didn't get it. Good thing I didn't "fall into the trap" for replacing the whole toilet.

A plumber recommended A & J Drain Service since it appeared that there was a stoppage in our sewer line. Someone came and said the line was cleared. 2 weeks later when it rained for the first time since the line was cleared, water started coming into the basement. I called and was told it must be a problem with the Sewer District. I called them and they sent someone out; he said the main Sewer lines were clear and the problem was between the street and my house. By this time, it was too late to get anyone, so I had to wait until the next morning to get someone else to clear my line. In the meantime I had a basement full of water.

Excellent service. The Drain Tech even took a few minutes to explain how our system is configured. We will definitely have them back for routine drain maintenance.

Setting up the appointment was easy, they called about 15 minutes before they arrived, the work was performed and we were given information about their findings during the cleaning and recommendations for the future.

Wow, they don't seem to care about customer service just money. We called them out because our kitchen sink was clogged and the store bought drain stuff wasn't working. He fixed the Sink but as soon as he left we had problems with the toilet, pretty sure they just pushed the clog down farther in the pipes. So we had them come back out to get the clog cleared out and they said our septic tank would need to be pumped soon, but the toilet still wasn't draining well. We had the septic drained and the toilet still wasn't draining very well. Once again the plumbers came out and checked the toilet and said the toilet needs to be replaced. So now our clean out pipe is backing out into the yard and our septic is empty and the lady on the phone says it's not her problem we would need to pay a separate charge to have them come out. This company must just be full of con-artist as service is nothing they care about.

We had them come out to clean a clogged basement drain. They told us that the line was broken and that we needed to tear up the floor and lay a new one. I asked if they could scope it before making that decision. They said they didn’t have the capability. Then they billed me for unclogging a drain (which was still clogged and all over my basement) and never followed up with a plan. I felt they didn’t really care that they left my family with a bad situation over the weekend! I had another company come out. They immediately scoped and was able to confirm there was no break in the line. They used several different cables and was able to unclogged it quickly.

Sean and Chris arrived and augured (is that the right word?) the sewer pipe that was clogged up. They were both professional and friendly, and they did a GREAT job! Sean went the extra bit by explaining to me why the sewer was likely stopped up and what I could do to prevent it in the future. They were quick and thorough and I was so grateful A & J was available to come do the work on such short notice. I highly recommend this family run company, and will definitely put them in my favorites!

We experienced water and other stuff coming out of a clogged drain in our basement so I contacted A&J Drain Service based on Angie's List recommendations. I called at around 6:45 AM leaving a message and received a call back before 7 AM to set up the appointment. I was originally told they would be there by 11 AM and at 9:40 AM I received a call from Justin with A&J telling me he could come over at that time. He arrived by 10:10 AM and the drain was cleared out front by 10:45. Justin was very professional and quick in performing the service. He spent time after running water down the drain to make sure that it was resolved. The bill was only $110.00 with the Angie's List coupon I have him, which I thought was very reasonable, compared to other prices I read charged with other companies for a similar service (most others were >$200). I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Shawn arrived on time and was very friendly, helping me understand the problems I was experiencing. He helped me figure out what I needed to do. It was a great experience and I would call him again if needed.

The crew called and arranged to come earlier than expected, which was fine by us. When they arrived, they had clean, new equipment, were very professional, and did a good job at both asking questions about our problem and explaining their recommendations and our options. We later hired them to do the follow up work that they had recommended (sewer jet cleaning and camera work). In this case, the owner came out and was very helpful . Before the original work, I shopped around a bit and found their prices were very fair, and maybe slightly lower than most others I contacted. We would definitely recommend and use them again.

It couldn't have gone better. Even though not an emergency, A&J responded within 2 hours. Jeremy was professional, polite, and efficient and quickly cleared our blockage (making my wife very happy!).

Appointment was made quickly and for same day service. Mike kept me informed of status and was able to address issue which were various tree roots. We have used A & J previously and have always received timely service.

It well well. It was much more involved than just the sink drain. He had to go into the main drain and work from there. It didn't stop until he got a cool flush of water

Tech was prompt, professional, and informative. He addressed issues that we need to look into taking care of, and told us who to contact to see if it was a county issue. Will certainly consider hiring them again and recommending them to others.

I called A&J, and after describing the problem in detail, he advised that there was nothing for him to do (there wasn't an active backup) and that we should try changing our toilet paper, and use lime to eliminate the smell. His advice made sense and I followed it. He could easily have charged us to come out and tell us the same thing. We have used A&J in the past, and will use them again in the future.
