They did a beautiful job. The counter top is quartz. They came out a year later and fixed the seam in it. They made the templates and then cut it to fit my sink and faucets. They had it done within a week. I would use them again.

Important clarification: Hallmark's response could lead someone to believe that they were allowed back in my home to complete the job. This is absolutely inaccurate. They were thrown off the job exactly as described. We brought StoneTrends in to completely redo the templating, fabrication and installation of the solid surfaces for this project. Original review: These guys were the low bidders on the granite fabrication associated with a full bathroom remodel. They suck and I cannot recommend anyone consider doing business with them in the future. If I had any idea they would have performed so poorly as a subcontractor I would have eliminated them from consideration. I'm not sure how we will figure out the rest of the remodel but I am throwing them off our job tomorrow morning. First problem - they submitted an initial CAD cutting diagram for approval. They were told we were trying to work around an area of the slab which they had included and we wanted to wait until the rest of the job was templated to see if everything would fit and without using the area we didn't like. They came back out to measure the rest of the job and then sent us a CAD with the original pieces in the same exact place. I'm not sure if this can be attributed to laziness, stupidity lack of attention to detail or ineptitude but I'm certain one or more of those apply. Second problem - they installed a couple of pieces with such tall globs of adhesive that it would have taken grout joints about an inch tall to close up the gaps. Who wants that in a professionally-remodeled bathroom?!? Third problem - they destroyed the stone described above trying to remove/replace it...putting us right back in the position of waiting for them to produce a CAD for approval and fabricate. Fourth problem - they took their sweet time getting the replacement pieces fabricated and installed. As a result, our job sat dormant for a couple of weeks and completely destroyed our projected completion date as a result. Fifth through Seventh problems - they took so long to complete this job that I started to really scrutinize their work. I found that they decided to divide a piece into two pieces from two different areas of the slab even though it was a single piece on the CAD we approved. I found that they cut one piece of backsplash 1/2" too short and tried to cover up the error with silicone caulk. I discovered they installed a piece that is cracked. I discovered they got the inside miter angles wrong and decided to hold one end out from the wall by more than 1/4" to close the gap. These jokers caused not less than 3 weeks of delays in completing an 8-week project. The general contractor has been fantastic but they do own some of the blame for selecting such a lousy subcontractor. Hallmark's communication was lousy, their customer service was lousy and their craftsmanship was amateurish at best.
Description of Work: The provider did an absolutely lousy job of granite fabrication and installation

We hired this provider through Home Depot to rehab our main bathroom. Paul came to our house on September 5, 2014 with samples and examples of bathrooms. We chose everything that day from the tile, to the shower stall to the fixtures. We were so impressed with the professionalism that was shown. Well, we waited for all of the materials to come in and were given a tentative date of mid-October for the work to begin. Well, tile was broken and I don't know what all else happened, but they then gave me a definite date of (I believe) November 19, 2014. Well, that day came and went and the construction still didn't begin. They gave me another date of December 1, 2014, and that day construction did begin. They said the work would take about 5 days. Tom (and a couple of days Shawn) worked hard and did a great job, but after 6 days I still had no shower, stool or sink. Different workmen came out 7 different days to complete the work and it was finally done on January 15, 2015. The bathroom is beautiful and they did exactly what I wanted as well as a few things extra, like putting in another electrical outlet, hanging a new light fixture, and installing door pulls and drawer handles, but for the work to take from September 5, 2014 to January 15, 2015 is a little outrageous in my opinion.
Description of Work: Removed old tub, tub liner, stool, sink, medicine cabinet and flooring and removed old closet. Installed new shower liner and flooring, new shower head and seat and 3 hand rails. Reinforced flooring and laid new ceramic floor tiles. Installed a built-in cabinet and drawers where closet had been. Installed new toilet, pedestal sink and medicine cabinet. Hung new light fixture, door knob, door handles and drawer pulls, and hung towel bar, towel hook and knick-knack shelf. Installed second electrical outlet. Painted walls and ceiling.

We looked at the slabs and they have a huge selection and the pricing was equivalent to everyone else. They were very knowledgeable about the installation. They even came back and fixed one scene. When we called back, they were timely and responsive. They worked with my schedule. You can find somebody cheaper but I do not know if you will get the expertise and experience.

As an amendment to a prior review, Hallmark did come out and replace the granite. I just wish I hadn't had to go to the owner to get it resolved. However, once the situation was explained to the appropriate people, the problem was correctly immediately. And that was very appreciated.

Install fine getting them back for any repairs, and offering to pay them. Impossible. Rude and do not return calls.
Description of Work: originally installed my granite countertops six years ago. I needed to have my undercounter sink, which has fallen fixed and my new dishwasher secured to the counter. I've called for two weeks. They found the original order, now mysteriously disappeared. I am a customer needing this done and wanting to pay them. They do not want my return business. The receptionist is very nice, however no return calls. Finally reached TAMMY what an attitude wow.

Hi [removed members name], we do take these types of circumstances seriously. I think part of the problem might have been that the original order was placed through a different name, complicating our efforts. It looks like the granite was installed over 6 years ago and doesn't readily show up in our system, but I was able to find the original order based on your address you posted here. We'll be happy to set up an appointment to address the issue and believe we tried to contact you Friday as well as this morning. Please call Jordan from our office back to get you on the calendar to address. Sorry for the scheduling inconvenience and either real or perceived attitude of one of our employees. We strive to be a leader in customer service and hope that we can get the issue squared away quickly.

Actually pertains to Home Depot and Hallmark Complete a division of Hallmark Stone in Fenton -Estimated start date was 9/8/14, actual start date10/6/14. Excuse; 1 tile guy and he is in the military and has duty. -Estimated time for install 1 week, but when they called to schedule it became 2weeks, excuse for that was the needed inspections that they didn'tinclude in their timeline. -Estimated days without toilet 3-4, actual entire installation period 10/6-10/17. Day One --Installation day start time 8am, 8:50 am no demo person and no call, he did finally call after I called Hallmark & Home Depot. -Ist time I called Home Depot they sent me to voice mail, 2nd call they said they would turn it over to director of home installation to try expedite the installation. That was on 10/6 and at 1:57pm on 10/8, I have not heard from them. -Demo person wants to know where I want him to store the tub, toilet, vanity, and other large items...I tell him I have no space for storage and he ask about garage...I have no garage. He then goes behind my back to my son and ask to store them in my already cramped shed. I catch him and tell him no. -Demo person then leaves because he has to go back to Home Depot to pick something up. -Demo person complains that I didn't take down my towel racks that no one instructed me to do, they weren't being replace. He took them down, but they were not in my home. -Demo person taped cardboard to my floors, which would be okay except he taped my front door mat underneath and I had to force the door open which would have ruined my weather stripping if I had not realized my mat was missing and pulled it out. -Demo person left a dripping toilet connection, which required me to continually empty bucket or turn water main off. -He left at 2pm. He accomplished taking out my toilet, vanity and a couple of sections of tile. Day Two -Project Mgr shows up and wants to know where to store the items that I already said I had no place for and that I was told on the previous day they would bring them as needed. Project Mgr informs me that he actually told demo person that he would figure something out, which apparently was to convince me I had space for them. I informed him that previous contractors have provided enclosed trailers when the needed storage. He made a call to the office and said they would take care of. -I informed him about the leaking toilet connection, which they did fix. -2 demo guys today, they completed the rest of the demo portion of the job. -left a big mess in the basement below the bathroom where all kinds of debris fell through the floor onto my very new washing machine. Day Three -Another employee arrives to deliver the tile...advised no storage, bring when ready to install...he apologized and left. -Plumber arrives around noon (he did call and tell me this was his approximate arrival time) found an issue with plumbing, called the owner, who came out and informed me an additional $1800...though he gave me $450 off because he believes I'm telling the truth about what I believe I heard regarding timeline. Due to the additional work needed, plumber won't begin work until around noon on 4th day. -Plumber will install a temporary valve so that my toilet can be installed at end of work day and uninstalled at beginning of work day. -Owner will request an early inspection on Day Five so that tile work can begin as scheduled according to the timeline that I just received via email. -Owner had employee deliver toilet to be temp installed on day four and had him clean up mess in the basement. Day Four -Project mgr called to tell me that would need a new permit to do the additional plumbing and 10/13 is the earlist that will be able to get it. He did not volunteer the fact that it would add time to complete this job, I had to ask him. -Plumbers came at 12:45pm and worked for a few hours, then another guy came and layed plywood floor and set toilet temporarily. Again there was a mess left in my basement. Later I found they had knocked a hole in the wall of the adjacent bathroom. Called, no answer, sent email, no reply. Day Five -8:30am, called owner again because he never called back...claimed vm was cut off, but he did gather there was a hole in my wall and they would fix...another patch job. I asked what there intention was to address the insulation that was now missing from my walls, he told me the insulation that was there fell from my attic. Not true, I had insulation blown in my attic, exterior walls and internal walls a few years ago. He agreed to replace insulation. That's all for now. Bathroom floor has been installed and it does look good. Tile guy has done a decent job with what he has gotten done. I discover they have also dripped something onto my new washing machine which has eaten into the plastic. Day 6 -No call from owner today and it is 1:30pm, he said he would be handling the job personally. Proj Mgr did call, said has call into city hall regarding 2nd permit they need, but he is in IL. In my opinion they should have been on the steps of city hall when they opened to obtain the needed permit, but no. No one here to fix the hole they put in the wall. Tile guy left mid-day because cannot go any further until additional inspection has been done. Matt called to say couldn't move any further until inspection completed. Advised Matt of the washing machine issue, he will call me later to check it out and see what they can do to fix it. Matt did come by, agreed to see if could get replacement parts for washing machine. When asked when they would fix the hole in adjacent bedroom wall, he was unaware of the issue as the owner of the co. had not shared this issue with him. He agreed to take care of the issue. Advised me that new permit requires that I have carbon monoxide installed near bedrooms, but that Hallmark would eat the cost. Earlier owner emailed me to say that inspector would be out Tuesday morning and tile guy would return on Wed. When emailed to asked why tile guy couldn't come back on Tuesday afternoon, no response. Also asked Matt, who told me they have tile guy on another job. Day 7 -Matt called to say that now they have to install smoke detectors in each bedroom as well as the furnace room and possibly the finished section of basement, but they will eat the cost. Still doesn't know what time electrician will be here to do the work. They claim this cost $1700, but they will not charge me. It took electricians about 90 minutes to complete this work. Day 8 -Tile work continues. Day 9 -Tile work continues and plumbers hook up faucets on vanity and shower. Day 10 -Tile work continued, asked tile guy about the recessed shelving for shampoos and such, he has no idea it was to be included and calls main office. They did not include in drawings or tell him about it, but it is on the work order and they agree to install and did so. It was done poorly and is an obvious afterthought. I am gone from 2-3pm and when I come back tile guy is gone and several people are at my house. 1 is working on holes in adjacent bedroom wall, another has taken over tile work. End of day, there are scratches in my new sink, tile & grout work has several areas where grout is either missing or has not filled in enough to hide the back side of the tile, partially because it is not all flush, partially because there simply wasn't enough grout used. Shower doors are not flush. Face plate for plug by sink that was moved due to tile being extended further than original tile is wobbly and grout missing beneath it. Base of vanity was shimmed and shim is visible. Laminate for front of vanity base was not installed, so particle board is exposed. They did not use the original duct work for the bathroom and when asked why, was told that don't know why they did old homes like that (previously the duct work was run between the floor of the vanity and the actual floor with a vent on the side of the vanity. Their solution was to just cut a hole (you can see where they drilled 4 holes and then cut from hole to hole) and let the heating/cooling flow into the base of the vanity. This solution was tested by me and basically the heat collects under the vanity and flow into the bathroom is very poor. In addition this heats the base of the vanity and therefore heats my personal care products that sit on the floor of the vanity. Heat degrades most personal care products. Day 11 & 12 Job has not been completed and no word from Hallmark or Home Depot. I have photos and video of how the shower door slowly slides open without being touched. Day 13 Home Depot finally called, which I missed, I called back and went straight to voice mail as it always does. They did email me,the division manager and Hallmark Stone proj mgr/owner to find out when they could come by. I responded 10am tomorrow and included numerous pictures. The email bounce back, so I sent again with pictures. An appliance company finally called to come out an replace my control panel, which is what Hallmark Stone told them was damaged...it is not, it is the covering.

We purchased a remnant from Hallmark Stone during a charity event. We also purchased granite from Hallmark Stone on a separate occasion for an entire kitchen. Hallmark Stone broke the remnant piece that was purchased at the event. There was enough of the slab to complete the counter-top, but, not the backsplash. Because it was a remnant, there was not another piece. As a result, we worked with Hallmark to find another piece in the same color but with a slightly different finish. We were very happy with that part of the resolution. We were not present or living in the home when the replacement backsplash was installed. The home was being massively rehabbed. The GC was on site that day, but, not standing over the Hallmark Stone installers. Fast forward to September: we have just moved in, boxes and dust are everywhere. I'm wiping down the backsplash only to find that Hallmark Stone did not follow through on what was agreed upon after they broke the original piece. The replacement backsplash is two different pieces of granite with two different finishes: one piece is matte and one piece is shiny. We had agreed on the matte finish. Furthermore, the shinier piece has a crack in it, albeit, subtle. The crack was never pointed out to us or disclosed. Clearly, we would never had agreed to installing yet another piece of granite broken by Hallmark. ;et alone two finishes that did not match. Had we wanted broken granite, we would have kept the original piece. After contacting the company and forwarding pictures, I received the following response from the owner: "This purchase was made at our charity event and all sales were final." Apparently, donating to a charitable cause nullifies Hallmark's liability and professional responsibility. And again, we also purchased significantly more granite from them in July not during a "charitable event."

The remnant of granite for the bar area was purchased at our annual charity event. The backsplash piece broke at install. Unfortunately in our business, this does happen occasionally. The color of granite selected had a unique factory applied finish that is not easy to duplicate. Because the remnant was purchased for charity, we weren't able to provide a purchase of a full slab of material to remake the splash. We provided a mock up of our attempt to duplicate the finish and had the customer's buy in to try this option. The customer contacted us much later of the problem with the splash. As of October 8, 2014 the splash was replaced from another remnant that had arrived since receiving the complaint. Again, we apologize and strive to follow through even when challenges on projects emerge.

Hallmark did a great job. They matched the existing quartz perfectly and even managed to slide the old countertop out and the new one in under existing back splashes without damaging anything. It looked like nothing had ever happened. We were thrilled with the end result. There was a lot of custom cabinetry and woodwork around and above the countertop. We were so afraid that some of it would have to come down in order to replace the counter. Our fears were completely unfounded. Thank you, Hallmark Stone!!!

Hallmark Stone was the the sub-contractor that installed my Home Depot Silestone countertops in November 2009. (They did excellent work.) Recently, one of the seams had opened up about 1/16" due to normal settling of the house. I called Hallmark to discuss the seam repair, but had to leave a voice message. About 3 business days later, I got a call from the local install team telling me they'd be on site within the hour to do the repair. While I would have preferred a prior callback from HQ to set an appointment and confirm prices, the local guys assured me that this was a free service. They were in & out inside an hour, and my countertop looks great again.

Not well. 1st) We ordered the granite through our local Lowes. We took in the kitchen layout, that came from Lowes, to get an estimate. We found our choice that had a 15 year warranty and proceeded to purchase the counter. We were told that Hallmark would contact us to do the template. After Hallmark arrived and made the templates, Lowes informed us that the cost was more b/c Hallmark determined more sq footage. We had 3 other bids and they all came up with the same lower #. We also wanted as few seams as possible and they informed us that this would cost more b/c it would be harder to handle and require more people to install the counter. This was called a "seamless corner charge". We agreed to pay for less seams, but argued about the more sq foot price. Hallmark removed the additional charge for more sq feet. Maybe they re-figured ? >? 2nd) We were informed that our granite was not available and would have to be ordered with no determined time of arrival, but they had a substitution. We were asked to look at their granite and okay the layout of our counter on the slabs. We decide to use their granite instead of waiting for the original to come in. We were told it had the same 15 year stain warranty. 3rd) They came to install the counter with only 2 people. Their installer said, "They should have sent more help to install your counters"....back to the "seamless corner charge". The 2 installers fought the granite and placed it on the cabinets.....Right off we saw a crack in the large corner piece that had been filled and a new crack that formed as the installers fought to get the large piece onto the cabinet. We were told that is was not a crack but a vein that opened up .....and it would be filed and polished and we wouldn't even know it was there. We told them they could try to hide it and we would decide then if we could still "know that it was there". While they fought this same corner piece they also chipped a corner on the limestone that borders our stove. We at first thought that we might be able to have it sanded and live with the damage. Well, continuing with the rest of the counter. Once the granite had been placed on the cabinets ,we looked and saw that 3 of the 6 pieces were cut out of square. the overhang ranged from 1 1/2" to 2 3/8" on a 4' long piece..The sink had been cut out of square as well. We had to take time and help the installers mark the slabs to have them re-cut. 2 of the 3 pieces were taken back and the 3rd, which was the large corner piece was left and we were told that they would cut and polish it on site....We now know they didn't want that vein to open ..HAHA! it is a CRACK! 4th) They show back up a few days later with the 2 pieces that they re-cut. This of course caused us to miss another day from work. They attempted to cut and trim the 3rd piece that was out of square. While cutting they removed a large chunk of the granite from the edge....they filled this...wow...really nice! They also had a very rude person come to our home and fill and polish the vein. We asked him about this and questioned if this happened a lot? We said we didn't buy broken granite and we called it a crack....HE did not like that! ( We later asked that he not be sent back to our home...we found out that he is part owner?) They did all of the install and asked us to look over the project. we did so.....knowing that they said people always get broken, filled granite from them ,we signed off so that we could get back to our lives. 5th) Within 3 weeks our new granite had a stain on the large corner piece. *( see below) If you set a glass of ice water on this piece it would leave a dark ring. We decide to contact our Lowes that we purchased from. They were very helpful. They sent somebody to our home to inspect our counters. We showed the issues to the person from Lowes. He couldn't believe that what he saw. We requested that Hallmark replace the large corner piece b/c of all of the issues with it. We also asked to be reimbursed the cost to have the damaged limestone replaced. This became a very drug out ordeal. I had to send them proof that I paid to have the limestone replaced....invoice and a cancelled check. All of this from their mistake! They pretty much called me a liar! We finally were able to get the large piece replaced, again missing work b/c of them! They did send 4 people this time. They also said they couldn't believe that the piece that they removed was even sent out to be installed. We were so feed up with them at this time we just wanted them out of our home and lives. Well, by Nov. 2012 we had another stain on another piece of granite. We contacted Lowes first....they told us to contact Hallmark. Hallmark sent somebody to work with the stain. He burnt the sealer off of the counter in an attempt to remove the stain. They had no luck with anything they attempted. They said they would let us know what was next. They asked me to purchase a product and try to lift the stain. They said they would reimburse me the cost, which they never did. I did purchase the product, even thought it was not my responsibility. This did nothing for the stain. I contacted the manufacture of the granite that we purchased at Lowes. I spoke with them and they informed me that Hallmark had registered my warranty for me. I thought great, maybe this will get this isssue resolved. They asked me about my issue. I explained what had happened. They then told me that the granite that Hallmark used DID NOT have their 15 year warranty! Fraud? I then contacted Hallmark. They said that they warranty the granite themselves....and Lowes was the second warranty. Lowes told me that they were completely unaware of this. Hallmark's response to this stain issue is that since they don't know what caused it, they cannot remove it and would not replace it. So, Hallmark won't fix a stain within 5 months......what would they do in 10 years? 14 years? They offered to sell me a new piece at a discounted cost! Come April 2013 the only seam in our counter had lost most of it's filler. You could see it and feel the seam. I emailed on April 18th to ask them to contact us about the seam and ask to have the stained counter resealed were they burnt off the sealer. No response. I emailed them again on May 6th. They did respond and set up an appointment to address both issues. * From all of this: They break granite and try to install it. The large cracked corner piece that they finally replaced they foolishly left with us. If you look at the back side you can see that they placed 4 rods in the granite attempting to hold it together long enough to place in on our cabinet. The vein , I mean crack is 1/2" wide in one area that they filled and polished. This is why the first piece stained.......they put it back together and failed to seal it before it left. We purchased a product with a 15 Year warranty to find out that we really didn't! We now have $5,000 worth of granite that will probably need to be replaced within 5-7 years. I am really tired of typing. I just wanted to inform as many people as I can about their business practices.

Response from HALLMARK STONE CO
Hallmark Stone has been installing stone countertops for over 15 years. We install over 5,000 projects annually. We have a very strong service record with our dealers, all consumer reporting agencies, and the vast majority of our end consumers. A quick review of the customer comments on our website would show a sampling of satisfied customers. Whenever we hear about a project that a customer is not pleased with, we work hard to resolve any and all issues. From the customer comments below, it is apparent that we did continue to work with them on the job issues that arose. Our job file information doesn’t match up exactly with the customers’ recollection of events, but this is probably not the best forum to get into a detailed point by point back and forth. Suffice it to say that we are extremely sorry that Mr. Held was not pleased with our services. We followed up on every item, and would be happy to complete any other follow-ups should the need arise. We strongly encourage all potential customers to ask a lot of questions to home centers and showroom dealers and do research as they contemplate their countertop purchase. We are confident that customers will hear and learn that Hallmark Stone provides excellent customer service, quick lead times, and quality installations. Past or potential future customers can contact Don Lewis directly at (636) 349-1299 x109 with any questions or concerns

Hallmark usually works only with contractors -- and so is less organized than you might think to work with homeowners directly. But this worked out fine in the end, once we figured this out. Since our contractor (Rick Bruder from Bruder Construction, much much recommended) was new to Hallmark, we were expected to pay up front, etc. We had a hard deadline for a wedding party, they stayed mindful of that and met all the deadlines. The Silestone is just beautiful, perfectly smooth, backsplashes fit perfectly even in awkward corner areas. The installation people were especially good, very professional, careful about damaging the stone/other areas of the house needing to walk through. > Very fast for initial estimate appointment - > Fast for measure/template appointment - > Very fast for first installation visit - countertops only > Very fast for second installation visit - backsplashes only (one was mis-measured, had to be redone) > Very fast for third installation visit - to redo One possible negative -- the measure/template installation appointment dates changed multiple times, often with very short notice. This was no problem for us since we could be "home" at will but anyone needing to schedule time off work/etc might have trouble with this.
Description of Work: Remove existing Silestone piece to cut/join with new matching Silestone pieces on new cabinetry. Highly recommended!

It went well even after we realized one piece was a little too short which caused some gaping near where the stone met the wall. We called and they were very quick to respond. They sent the original templater out to take a look. He offered a couple of options in order to fix it at no additional cost to us. They replaced one section that has corrected the issue. This was the only reason they received a "B" for overall expeience. It ended up taking a little bit longer than we had expected. However like I stated they were quick to take responsibility for the issue and got it corrected in a timely manner.

After purchasing the slab of granite from an outside source (Unique Stone) Hallmark fabricated the new granite countertops for our master bath remodel. They installed them, taking care to make sure everything was level and appropriately sized for all the plumbing fixtures. When a question of plumbing placement preference came up the install representative took time to explain all the options and together we came up with the best option for our bathroom. The representative who created the templates also asked me my opinion and preference for each template to insure the final look was exactly how I envisioned it to be. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality, professionalism and thoroughness from Hallmark Stone. I would definitely use them again for any granite project.

The project manager, template maker and installers were knowledgeable and professional. It took only a couple weeks from beginning to end. One section had to be re-shimmed but this was fixed cheerfully and promptly. The shade of the counter was noticeably different from the sample but that was my fault - I should've visited the factory and looked at the actual slab.

We are in the midst of a kitchen remodel (purchased through Home Depot). Hallmark Complete, a subsidiary of Hallmark Stone, is the subcontractor for cabinet installation. They had to come out 3 times, and will possibly need to come again because of miscalculations on installation. The cabinets above the stove were improperly put in, causing the microwave to not be able to be installed. The installers mismeasuremed on their the first try at installation. The dishwasher and stove would not have fit into that installation. Two cabinets would have to be "eaten" because of mismeasurement and another ordered (at the cost of $700 for the cabinets that did not fit, and $700 for a new cabinet that would fit.) Luckily the Job Foreman came, remeasured and the original cabinets were able to be installed in their proper place. The countertop (Wilsonart) representative came to remeasure (the second time he had to come), said he believed that the cabinets were not level and the top would not be able to be installed. I will let you know what happens. ADDENDUM: Fred saved the day. Any concerns that I had, Fred immediately addressed. The job is now completed and my kitchen is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend Hallmark. Ask for Fred to manage the project.

Initially, everything went well. Everything was punctual, professional, and going according to plan. The glass shower door was the last thing to be installed. A day after it was installed, it would not hang properly. The shower door continued to not to hang properly and had to be readjusted twice. The project manager then told me that there was nothing more that they will do fix the door. I questioned the installation and was told that everything was installed correctly even though the door never hung properly. Some time passed and the shower door started to pull the onyx away from the wall. I called and received the run around, and finally after calling them numerous times, someone came out to inspect the damage. At that time, I was told that the shower door was not anchored properly which is why it does not hang correctly and is now pulling the shower away from the wall. I am still getting the run around from them and no one has come to my home to fix it. I have left numerous messages for them. No one answers or returns my calls.
Description of Work: This company installed an Onyx shower, glass shower door, and a laminate floor in my bathroom. This is the company that Home Depot sent to do the installation. The price was quite a bit higher than other quotes that I had received, but I thought that I was dealing with a quality company. I was wrong.

I can't say enough great things about Hallmark Stone and the granite they installed in our kitchen During this process we had occasion to meet the owner Fred who is absolutely fantastic and it is the tone at the top at Hallmark that is the reason for their incredible service and reputation. They set up an appointment for us at their granite supplier and told us what to look for in the granite slab. When the slab arrived at Hallmark we met with them again and they showed us how the granite had a flow through it, then used the templates they had made at our home to set up the cuts. Their installers were very professional, treated our home and belongings with care and consideration. The granite cut was a little off on an outlet, we called and spoke to Fred who had us call an electrician and paid for having the outlet moved so it fit the cut out exactly. The granite is beautiful and flows with incredible detail because the folks at Hallmark took the time to teach us and make it all happen A few years later we took advantage of the sealing process they had just started offering and it is an incredible product as well. Again we are very happy with out experience at Hallmark stone and wished businesses we deal with were at least half as good as Hallmark was everytime we used them. EXCEPTION****** Because we had such a great experience with Hallmark Stone we made a terrible error in hiring Tim DeWit (Hallmark remodeling?) and the remodling service that he owns and is somewhat connected with Hallmark. As good as Hallmark Granite is, hire Tim Dewit and you are setting yourself up to live through a nightmare like we did. We had an almost $12,000 remodel of our bathroom. In the beginning, Tim offered us a 10% discount which we declined because we wanted HIM to run our job and to have a good, professional Hallmark standard experience. Our first clue it was going to be bad is when the drywall SUBCONTRACTOR arrived in our home at 3:30 Friday Memorial Day Weekend very agitated and upset that he had been forced to come work at our home for one hour at 3:30 on Memorial Weekend Friday. During the remodel we ended up having to purchase plastic sheets and put them up in an effort to protect our bedroom walls and furnishings from dust and debris. We had to TIE the bedroom door shut so it wouldn't be kept open to increase airflow but allow dust and debris throughout our home. We were promised Tim but we got a Kip who actually appologized to a workman for us demanding the door be kept shut instead of protecting our property and calling the workman out for continually proping the door open and ripping plastic off the air intake. The man who cut the glass for the shower left the GLASS dust on our driveway, again no one to oversee him and he is comfortable giving substandard service working for Tim and Kip. We didn't notice it until our dog came in with bloody paws. Just one bad experience after another. Tim wanted us to agree he did a good job after he called in an experienced craftsman to redo and cover up some of the work at Tims own expense. The job is adequate but not worth the time frame of May thru December before everything was finally finished. When we opened up underneath our Jacuzzi there were broken pieces and uninstalled pieces of the jacuzzi bath support sysytem -Fred from Hallmark Stone saw them. Can't even begin to list all the things that were or went wrong. Finally we just wanted it DONE. Nightmare is a kind word for what we went through Please note that three months later we contracted with Frank Dana Enterprise to remodel our other bathroom - what a difference. He and his helper did EVERYTHING themselves, and they cost about 1/3 less. They treated our home like it was their own, dust levels were almost nonexistant although the bathroom was in the middle of our home. They actually installed and used a good plastic barrier system. As bad as our experience with Tim and Kip was, dealing with Frank Dana was a true pleasure. It is the difference between dealing with a professional and a circus. We have used Frank to install a weatherproof deck, lay tile in incredible patterns and many more things. We can't say enough good things about him as an honest professional and the excellent work he has done for us.
Description of Work: Countertops and covering the walls between counters and cabinets with granite in kitchen. A few years later they came and sealed it with a new process - that is excellent also.
