We are extremely pleased with the result. We now have a beautiful and spacious kitchen/family room. Darryll was professional, knowledgeable and always prompt to return our calls and emails when we had questions. Both he and Angie were friendly and helpful every step of the way. As stated in the contract, the crew began work promptly at 7 a.m. One to four people worked every day. Kent and his crew gave careful attention to detail and did a quality job. We would also recommend B. O. Graham Plumbing and Born Electric, both did good work on time. We’ve had many compliments on our kitchen and would call on Darryll for any future project.

I had another bathroom remodeled by the GA Chott team and it was another great experience! The bathroom turned out beautiful and the quality of work is exceptional! Just like my last project, Angie was fantastic making sure things went smoothly from helping me with design, to making sure I got the right materials, scheduling, and final completion, while always keeping me aware of my choices that may cause changes to the budget before making the changes. We were in constant contact throughout the entire project. John is an amazing craftsman!! He has done both of our jobs and they are absolutely beautiful! He is meticulous in his work and because he comes everyday at 7:00, you can easily communicate with him. He discusses every choice with you and if he needs to make even the slightest change he will talk to you before doing it. He takes care to be sure any areas of the house outside the work area are covered and the house is always cleaned up each afternoon before he leaves. You can also feel confident your home is in good hands and work is being done while you are not home. I would definitely use them for any project I have! They are a wonderful team!

Darryll, Angie, Nick, James, and Greg were all great to work with. We had to wait a few months to get on the schedule, but it was worth it. We had facelifts to 2 bathrooms, and a more extensive redo on the master. They arrived on time, and left the work site very clean each day. Nick was very meticulous in his work and finishing. Communications were easy and frequent, and they worked well with us on any changes. We are very pleased with the results.

Darryll and Angie were fantastic throughout the entire process. Shortly after we selected GA Chott there was a medical situation in our family that caused us to delay the project and they were very understanding and responsive to our needs. When it came time to choose the materials and accessories, Darryll was very incredible helping in guiding our family through our selections, even making recommendations on lower price options that he felt represented better value. My wife had concerns about potential water damage behind some of the walls that weren't being replaced. Darryll told us that water damage in those areas was highly unlikely in the absence of other signs. He said he would be willing to do the extra work but that if it was his bathroom he wouldn't do it, because it would be spending well over a thousand dollars on something that wasn't likely to provide any value. When the time came to start the remodel the workers were extremely professional, courteous, and kept us informed every step of the way. We decided to make a change to how we originally had planned the electrical work which they accommodated without hesitation or additional charge even though it was more work. They finished the remodel two days before the estimate and the results were fantastic. It has been 3 months since the work was completed and have no concerns about the quality of the work. I would (and have) highly recommend GA Chott to anyone looking to do home remodeling. They clearly care about delivering great service, at a fair price, and developing long-term customers.

Great experience! We have been renovating each room of our house for the past 2 years and this was the final project. Darryll and Angie were very responsive and helpful. James worked on our project and he was very nice, respectful, kept the work area clean, and was always on time and smiling. He answered our questions and helped us make the most of our small bathroom. With Darryll and James help, the bathroom turned out exactly as we hoped it would. Without changing the footprint of the bathroom, with the design choices and placement, the bathroom feels bigger. It's brighter, the cabinet we purchased through them is well made and provides the storage needed, the shower door and glass enclosure turned out perfect. Definitely will use for future jobs. One of the best contracting experiences we had during our renovation project.

Our entire experience with G.A. Chott was amazing from estimate to completion. This was our first experience having major work done in our home by someone other than ourselves and it went so well we will be asking them to redo our other bathroom in the Spring, as well as other projects we have. The team we worked with were all extremely professional, conscientious, friendly, skilled, trustworthy, and easy to work with. They truly are the ideal combination of quality and great pricing with the added unexpected and appreciated piece of always keeping your house clean, even during demolition. With both my husband and I working, scheduling during the day was difficult. Right from the beginning Darryll was flexible and accommodating for all of our meetings. We got three estimates and they were right in the middle, but it was evident from the beginning unless we made changes to our job or had unforseen issues, the cost would be very close to the estimate. The estimate included realistic costs for all aspects of the job including materials and subcontracting jobs, like plumbing and electric, instead of estimating so low you know the costs will increase. Before, during, and even after Angie is amazing! She was always a text, email, or phone call away for questions, covering for us when we couldn't get away from work, helping to make design decisions, and to keep the project moving forward. John is an extremely skilled and meticulous craftsman! All of our tile work and the entire bathroom came out beautiful! We added areas and made major modifications to our accent tile that required a lot of tedious spacing and installation and John made it look like it came that way from the manufacturer. He is wonderful! Todd, also, has the same care and attention to detail. He rewalled and painted our bedroom and it looks absolutely beautiful! We will use them for everything we ever do again and we highly recommend them for anything you plan to do!

GA Chott is the company to call for remodeling. I wish I could give an infinite number of "+++" with my A ratings. We had gotten bids from 2 other companies and while I had good conversations with both, GA Chott underbid by quite a bit. And this was no small job. It was a remodel I've been wanting to do for 14 years and everyone at this stellar company handled it as if this was in their own house. Darryll arrived on time to come take a look at the kitchen and take measurements for the estimate. He knew I had plenty of details worked out but still asked enough questions to make sure the estimate would be as complete as possible. I signed the contract in early June. Our start date was scheduled for mid-September. They were worth the wait! On the first day, Darryll said he & the demo crew (Todd & Keith) would be there at 7:30 and they were there on the dot. This was the case every day during the remodel. Since our kitchen opens directly to our family room, Todd & Keith took great care in putting up plastic to keep the dust down as much as possible. They laid plastic on the carpet and on the hardwood leading to the bathroom, cardboard. I was so impressed that they took time to screw down the squeaky subfloor before the new flooring came in. I usually do that when we replace carpet (since I know installers don't often do it) so it was a nice surprise they did that without my mentioning it. Once John took over, I knew we were in the best hands possible. I don't think I've met a more honest, upfront, hardworking & detail-oriented contractor in my life as a homeowner -- and our two houses have needed ALOT of work. He always asked questions and made suggestions when I was undecided; he and Richard from Born Electric were especially helpful when it came time to place the can lights. One of the most helpful things John did was move our old oven back & forth from the garage so we could still use it during the remodel. While the fridge was fine in the garage (and the microwave on the dining room floor), there was no outlet to plug in the fridge. Being a family man himself, he understood what it was like trying to feed a family during a lengthy remodel. The finished kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and belongs on a magazine cover. I am happily recommending GA Chott to everyone I know -- give them a call!

They were professional, prompt, and very honest and up front about the job timing, cost for a couple of small changes I requested and just all aspects of the project. This was not an easy job. Our home in Saint Louis Hills was a challenge for contractors. [concrete, brick, old pipes, etc.] One local well known companys bid was thru the roof and another smaller one did not even want to tackle this job. So, we turned to Angies List. Fortunately, we found G A Schott. Darryl came to our house and did not blink. We went to their showroom and we were convinced this was our contractor. Angie, Darryls' wife, was a pleasure to work with. We changed our minds to make some minor changes in the middle of the project and they {Angie and James] always tried and satisfied us. James is their Jack of all trades. He is their carpenter, electrician, plumber, painter, floor layer, and demolition man. I am sure one of the reasons their bid was lower than others was because they don't have to get 10 other contractors to do what James can do. We felt completely safe with him here even when we were not. {and that was a lot] James is a young man who is a perfectionist. He really takes pride in his work. The bathroom remodel went well. Darrell came right away to give me an estimate. Every aspect of the job was done well and they were all extremely professional. Angie did all the scheduling and James the carpenter did a great job. James listened when I had some concerns and immediately addressed them so that I was happy. I had to have them come back for some warranty work and I called on Monday and they were out on Thursday to fix some small things. Customer service is not dead with this company. If I had one issue it would be the length of time for the job to start. I signed the contact in November but the project did not start until mid March. A testament to the amount of work they get. I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing for a remodel project.

Darryll Hileman is a professional builder and a dependable Contractor. The work’s proposal was comprehensive, and reasonable. The work was done by knowledgeable and experienced workers, who did their job with precision and executed it skillfully. Darryll schedule each projects ahead of time, and set priorities to the job on hand. He explains the task and lay down the job for each member of his crew. At the end of each day, the work area was tidy and clean. Darryll has respect for his client’s property; he protects the floors, and seals the work area to minimize the spread of dust to other area. Darryll Coordinate the progress with Angie in the back office. She provided the administration support; permits, Inspections, scheduling assignments to professional employees, sub contractors, etc... G.A. Chott is a company of professional team members, that will do a well done job from start to finish and will do it promptly. I would definitely use them again for future projects, and I would highly recommend G.A. Chott to anyone who is planning home renovation.

We are very happy with the outcome. The work was performed by two teams, over two different time frames. One team did the drywall repair and crown work. The second team did the master bath tile work. Both teams were extremely professional, prompt, courteous and work conscientious. Darryll did a great job estimating the work and Angie kept the lines of communication open during the project. The only slightly negative aspect of the project was the timing. We signed contracts at the end of September. The first team did not perform the crown and seam work until mid December and the second tile team worked the first part of January. The time lag was a bit disconcerting for us - we originally wanted all the work performed before Christmas at the latest. In Chott's defense, this project was performed around the busy holiday season and we also had some vacation time to work around.

Darryll showed up on time for the bid and it went smoothly. We received it via e-mail relatively quickly. As there are a number of choices to make the bid gave allowances for certain components. When all was said and done we were within $70 of the bid or so it was as accurate as it could have been. The bid specifically stated things not included that were to be provided for the owner, but the cost of that was relatively small. We got a few bids and they were generally within the same range. This was the lowest though. We had the option of going to the business location / showroom to look at the available options. Darryll was accommodating with our schedules so we went one night after work to select everything. In our case the only item that was custom made was the vanity. They order those from someplace and I think there was a 5 week lead time or so. Once we committed I think it was 5 or 6 weeks before the job was actually started - which was typical based on the other bids we got. The main person that handled our remodel was John. He was very punctual and took very good care of the rest of our house. They basically cover the areas they will be walking through. John did a lot of the work himself, but people came and went as necessary (plumber, electrician, extra hand to help with the demo, etc). If anything came up that John thought warranted our attention he would call or leave a note for when we got home. John could answer questions if one of us was home when he was working, but often we would call the office and speak to Angie. She could answer just about anything, but if necessary Darryll would give us a call back. Angie did a good job of calling periodically to keep us informed of what to expect next, which was nice. Everything went smoothly and to our liking so we didn't have the need for them to go back and change things. The exception was the tub drain, which they had the plumber come out and swap out. We did not have the cabinet hardware when the job was finished, so we just planned to install it ourselves after the fact. We drilled the holes but the screws were too long and we didn't have the tool to cut them down. Angie called after the job was done to check on everything, and had some come take care of that for us one morning. The project took maybe two and a half weeks. This was in line with what they told us initially and what other companies we got bids from said it would be. They do everything by the book as far as getting the appropriate inspections and pulling permits which is a good thing. Depending on where you live, the age of your house, and the nature of the work being done - you may have to upgrade your smoke/carbon monoxide detector situation. We ultimately had to, but this possibility was stated very clearly in the bid so it didn't catch of us guard. Overall we got a good vibe from the initial bid and are pleased with the result. We will contact them for our next home improvement project.

They were okay, I can't remember anything specific but they were alright. They did okay I mean I had no complaints, it wasn't spectacular but I have no complaints.

We were very happy with the result. Ryan and Nick were a pleasure to work with. Ryan made helpful suggestions as the work progressed. Angie was always ready to use her influence with outside suppliers when problems arose, which was seldom.

The rest of the story is just as positive. The contractor assigned to my job was polite, respectful of my home and communicative on details of my project (very quiet otherwise because he had a job to do...no idle chit chat!) The quality of work was exceptional. I was notified in advance by the office mgr. of when the building inspector would arrive on job, when the stone co (countertops) was coming to do templates, etc. etc. There were no surprises. My contractor was VERY skilled in all areas of construction. I will sum things up this way: The company went above and beyond!! Also, and this is coming from a neat freak, my contractor was meticulous and EVEN took all trash back to the office, instead of stuffing the whole mess in my garbage. Gotta love that!! I highly recommend GA Chott!!!
