This is the second time we’ve hired GA Chott during the past 10+ years. We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. This was a large, 8-week project. We did our homework and acquired several bids. GA Chott wasn’t the cheapest (or the most expensive), but they were clearly the best choice. We give our highest recommendation. You’ll be pleased with both the quality of the work and how it’s handled throughout the process.

We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is unsurpassed. We had an inspector ask us about who did the work so that he could contact them for a job in his own home. The quality and attention to detail were incredible. James is purely a rockstar – he works quietly (considering it included demo and the like), cleanly and respectfully. He kept us in the know along the way and really brought the details together. He was always available when we had questions and did quality work from top to bottom. Most of all, James really treated our home as though it was his own. The coordination of the project (which included several required inspections) was all handled by Angie and team. She is a great communicator, and that can’t be overlooked in a project of this scale. Again, she was always available for any questions we may have, and made it feel like we were their only clients. Darryll helped us navigate decisions and brought the full plan together. When we encountered a couple of small issues, he was quick to address and correct them, and assured that things were properly handled. This was a large, 8-week project. As expected, there was a long delay between signing a contract and work beginning. This was not the fault of the contractor --- material availability since COVID was the obvious factor here. G.A. Chott was about 'middle of the road' in terms of quotes we received for our kitchen. We had quotes that were 25% less and quotes that were tens of thousands more. Ultimately we felt that the detail in the proposal materials and the professionalism of Darryll (owner) made G.A. Chott the best fit for us. With the work now complete, I do feel we made the correct decision in having them perform the work. In the end, the project wound up being about 14% over the initial estimate. It is important to note that some of this was due to changes made by us, the customer. A good portion, however, was bringing electrical up to code. In our opinion this would have been easily discoverable during the estimate by viewing the breaker box, so I was a little disappointed by this. From demo day to completed kitchen was right at 2 months. That said, after 5 weeks we had a mostly functional kitchen (appliances and cabinets in place, cardboard countertops). Work then paused until countertops were ready; this delay is not G.A. Chott's doing, but certainly something to plan for regardless of who you go with. Material quality is midgrade per my research --- better than box store and a bit below high end. This was in line with the price point as compared to other estimates. Overall we've been happy with G.A. Chott, their staff and quality. We would hire them for additional large projects, but would take what we've learned into that scenario, do a bit more research into code compliance (as compared to when our house was built) and ensure everything possible is accounted for in the initial quote.

Darryll and his crew (Josh, Mike, Nick and James) did a great job on all of our home and remodeling projects and they were great to work with. Whenever we had questions about anything Darryll and his crew were always helpful and answered them all. Josh was very meticulous about doing everything right in the bathroom remodel and it looks beautiful! The guys were always on time and they cleaned up really well at the end of the day. They were very friendly and professional and we will definitely use them again! We love our new spaces!

Can't say enough of the GREAT job the crew did. This is sixth or seventh job we've had them do and the results are always perfect. Daryll always gives a professional bid and sends amended bids when suprises happen. Workers are very considerate regarding protecting floors and clean-up. Recommend to friends and family.

Overall the project went well, and we have a beautiful finished basement that we use for combine office / family space. They were very accommodating of changes in scope along the way, all while getting things complete on schedule. They were able to frame in around everything, keeping things as tight as possible to maximize the space, were able to have a plumber on site same day to move some piping when mine fell through, they sub contracted the electrical work. The project was not without bumps / changes, and no project of this size is (i assume). I think some of the problems could have been avoided with better communications and setting of expectations during the project, on both my part and theirs. At the end of the day, the basement looks great and we enjoy every moment down there. I would hire them again for my next project (and plan to)!

Over the past ten years GA Chott has done renovations on my kitchen, my master bath and most recently, this basement project. I don't even bother to get bids from anyone else. They’re that good, in my opinion. I had a totally unfinished basement, and now I have a beautiful finished media room and a sparkling laundry area nearby. They framed in the theatre room, joined the drywall with the concrete walls, trimmed out to look more seamless. Built soffits for HVAC ductwork and vents. Dropped ceiling with recessed dimmable wafer lights. Installed new light switches and electric outlets. The door to the media room was situated to provide a straight path from the laundry area thru the media room to the staircase. The room, the large stairway, and the landing were all carpeted with nice thick padding underneath. Wonderful underfoot. (They only use high quality materials.) The staircase walls and ceilings were painted. The unfinished part has a bathroom that they refurbished with new shower heads, grab bars, electric outlet, and rough part of wall skim coated. All doors were painted. All walls, built in cabinetry and workbench were painted. The floors were painted - which involved moving the washer, dryer, heavy workbench, storage cabinet, exercise equipment, etc. etc. and then moving it all back again. They even helped me to remove and/or give away some items I no longer needed. My brand new big screen tv was mounted on the wall. Then... it quit working. Darryll went above and beyond: he came out and dismantled it, loaded it for return and then mounted the replacement. Which reminds me - any time there is a problem or concern of any kind, they are super responsive and quick to take care of it. The work crew is extremely considerate and a pleasure to have in your home. I happen to be a retired lady so I was mostly present, but I would not hesitate to leave them unattended. I enjoy this renovation every day. It adds a whole new dimension to my home. If you appreciate quality work done to precise and detailed specifications then you should definitely consider GA Chott & Associates, Inc.

We have worked with GA Chott since 1999, finishing our basement, remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms, and smaller projects recently. Darryll and Angie are a pleasure to work with. The workers show up on time, are very courteous, and clean up at the end of the day. The work is done with meticulous detail and pride of their work. Our most recent project was repairing our ceiling, painting, installing a new shower head, and exhaust fan in the master bath. They also installed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to bring our home up to code. We are always very happy with the work and enjoy having them in our home. We feel their pricing is fair and would definitely call them for anything we need in the future.

Darryll and his crew at GA Chott went out of their way to take care of us. Before getting some foundation work completed, they came over to help us prep (removing old cabinets, taking out drywall, etc). After the foundation work was completed, they helped us put back the cabinets we wanted to keep and installed new LVT floor. They have done numerous other repairs, most notably the installation of a garden window (pictured), installing new blinds on the garden window, replacement of a patio step (pictured), and installation of ceramic flooring. The crew was considerate, friendly, and professional. Upon our request, they wore masks while inside the home (to help protect a family member with preexisting conditions). I can't say enough good things about them!

GA Chott did a full kitchen remodel for us. New flooring, cabinets, backsplash, quartz countertops, lighting, and a new floor plan. They had to add new electrical and move plumbing for us. We could not be happier. Darryll listened to what we wanted and his team, led by James did an outstanding job on all aspects of our project. James is a true professional who pays attention to the little details and was always willing to answer my many questions. He was a pleasure to have in our home. This is the second time that we have hired GA Chott. They also installed a new fabulous bathroom in our basement several years ago and we were so happy with their work that we called them when it was time to remodel our kitchen. Both times they worked in our house they showed up every day on time and did a great job. We will definitely be calling them again with any future work we need done. A shout out to Angie who was fantastic both times we worked with her. She kept us updated and answered all questions we had on the project. She also rolled up her sleeves and helped rip out our flooring. Thank you Angie for all you do!

GA Chott did a fantastic job with our full kitchen remodel and master bath remodel. We knew we wanted to take our time with such a large project scope. We met with Darryll, the owner, in the Fall of 2020 to go over our project details and get a quote. We wanted to knock down walls to open up our kitchen, so Darryll gave us the name of a reliable structural engineer that we could contact and determine if the walls were load bearing. Once the structural engineer gave us the OK we signed our contract with Darryll in January, 2021. Darryll was kind enough to keep his price quote from several months prior, even with material prices going up. We ordered our cabinets by March, with the expectation that the work would begin in June. Sure to their word, all of the cabinets and other materials arrived in time to begin the project in June. The Job Foreman James was wonderful to work with. He, and his crew arrived on time every day, and kept in touch with us about every detail. The kitchen project took about 6 weeks to complete. It was a big job, with walls being removed, new recessed lighting, and removing our popcorn ceiling. Once those tedious tasks were done the cabinets only took about a week to install, and then they hooked up all of our new appliances for us. The countertops were installed by Stone Trends, which is one of GA Chott's preferred contractors. Stone Trends was a little backed up so there was a bit of a wait on the countertops, but once they were installed GA Chott came back and finished our backsplash tile, and it looks fantastic. While waiting for the kitchen countertops GA Chott completed our master bath project within 1 week. They removed our old vanity, reconfigured our closet wall, and installed a new, larger vanity for us. They refinished our closet, installed a new door, installed new ceramic floor tile, and installed a new lighting fixture and a larger mirror in the bathroom, which we picked out. Between these 2 large scale projects GA Chott basically had everything finished in 7 weeks. I would highly recommend them for any home improvement project. I know we will for sure be using them again for future projects.

Considering the kitchen renovation took place during the winter, the holidays and COVID, the overall experience went pretty smoothly and was completed on time. The workers showed up on time if not early, cleaned up after themselves, and most importantly listened to what I wanted. As with any major remodel, there were a couple of changes along the way and they were done without hesitation. Communication was excellent.

Our family has worked with GA Chott for nearly seven years. Our first project was a full basement completion; most recently we used GA Chott to replace all of our exterior lights and bathroom fans. Darryll is a wealth of knowledge, and very professional. I was most impressed with the mini- project as the original start date had to be pushed back. Darryll did an amazing job of communicating this via email. In addition to the quality work, GA Chott’s pricing is definitely fair.

They were very professional, clean and courteous. On time and always friendly. Worked with all of our needs and gave thoughtful suggestions. I will definitely use them again when we need it!

G.A. Chott was an excellent contractor for us. They totally gutted and remodeled our kitchen including new floors, cabinets, appliances, lighting, window, countertops and a large island. They also added new lighting throughout our house. Darryl (owner) was excellent to work with and his lead carpenter (James) was very good! James had excellent skills and took great pride in his craftsmanship and making our kitchen look the way we wanted. We can’t say enough good things about James. He was excellent! We will definitely use G.A. Chott and James again. We give them the highest rating and would recommend them to anyone that needs home improvement projects completed

From start to finish every aspect was spot on. I was provided a very detailed and fairly priced quote from Darryll. The work was started exactly as I was told. The installers, James and Cody, arrived every day at 7:00 A.M. and their work was done with precision - courteous and professional as well. At the end of each day all areas were cleaned. Angie took care of any questions or concerns in a very timely manner. I highly recommend G. A. Chott & Associates.
