He was here 2 1/2 hours trying to fix it. He still wasn't quite satisfied with the way it was sliding so he is going to order an entire new frame for the door. They make their own things so he said it would be about 4 weeks, which is fine. He got the lock working completely. They have a lifetime warranty on their products so I didn't have to pay anything. They have been out here 2 other times to fix our door. They have always been very nice about it and made it work. They are extremely nice. They have always been right there.

Price - Champion windows are priced higher than its primary competitors. After doing our homework and requesting quotes from 3 different companies, we settled on Champion's GI Investor Grade windows (which they don't advertise but are about 30% less expensive than its "regular" windows and a little less energy efficient but still qualify as Energy Star in this climate). These windows/sliding door were still about 20% higher than one competitor and 8% higher than another but we thought they were a little better quality and we were sold on Champion due to its reputation for quality and the fact that it manufactures, sells and installs its windows and is not just the seller/installer. Sales process - grade = 'A': Larry Kimmel is an excellent, knowledgeable sales person who was very courteous throughout the sales process and very responsive to our calls prior to window installation. The sales process was not "pushy" and Larry made sure he compared Champion Windows to his competitors' windows, but not in a way that demeaned the other companies. We appreciated that approach. Measurement process - grade = 'A': Mark Goodrich is an excellent measurement technician. Very courteous. We did not have any problems with windows being incorrectly measured. Office/customer support - grade = 'D': The 4 transom windows and the sliding glass door were manufactured incorrectly; the incorrect grid styles were included. This delayed the installation by about 4 weeks. In and of itself, this was not a big problem because we understand that mistakes are made from time to time and we weren't on a deadline to complete the project. However, the communications about this problem, the status of when the windows would be correctly manufactured and a new installation date were subpar and not worthy of this otherwise fine company. Tim -- who works in the office on the window orders - seems overworked, under-informed and not focused on providing excellent customer support. Several times when we called to check on status he told us he would find out and call us back soon but never did. We ended up calling others in the office so that we could figure out what was going on. A new office manager apparently was hired a month or so before our actual installation date and she seems very good - we were able to get timely information from her and she demonstrated strong customer orientation skills. Installation process - grade = 'A+': Aaron and his crew were fabulous. They were very friendly and courteous, worked hard and the installation seemed to go very smoothly. He answered all of our questions and didn't mind that we occasionally looked over the shoulder while they were working so we could understand what they were doing. Great job, great team. Overall, we give them a 'B' grade due to the quality of the windows and excellent sales, measurement and installation process. The company needs to work on improving its office/customer support, and hopefully with the new office manager that will happen.

Crew showed up a little late but got right into installing door. They removed the old door and consulted with me about how I wanted the new door installed. They never took a break. Very impressed.

They were very courteous and conscientious of all the work they did. They used very high quality materials and their price was fair compared to the other bids I received. They had a good attitude throughout the entire project and followed the contract throughout.

The job went beautifully. The windows were received and installed on time as promised. The installers were friendly, professional, worked diligently, precisely, carefully and answered any question I had during the installation. Clean up after the job was to satisfaction. The installed windows are beautiful. We're pleased we chose Champion Windows for the job. About 10 years ago they installed a garden window for us which we were equally pleased with. They'll be the business we call for any future window needs, and you should too.

On initial install they took out the wrong windows, put a hole in the bath tub, took a chunk of paint off a wall, damaged window sill, threw away a piece to my window shade, and installed the wrong windows in the bathroom. We ordered more window to replace the wrong ones they took out, waited 2 months for them to replace the bathroom windows with the correct ones.

Installers arrived promptly at 8:30am, installed the windows matched the window trim to champion windows we had installed 2 years ago. Appointment originally scheduled for 7/5-bute there was a schedule error.

Frank the installer and Tom the superintendent were terrific. Knew their craft very well. Very professional in all aspects.

The carpenter was very compentent and did excellent work.

siding work nice, columns wrapped and they look great (best work), soffit work looks nice but in some areas where aluminum trim not bent correct so no clean edges (looks very wavy), fascia work so-so. Gutters and downspouts installed along with drip edge which was installed wrong and our shingles were cut back to allow for drip edge per the request of the subcontractor who did the siding work. Rain leaked between gutters and fascia along the front and back of home. Had contractor come back out for repair (not too happy about). Left holes in gutters screwed through drip edge. The front gutter looked as though it was falling off the house when they left. When contractors came back out to fix problem, they tore the shingles on our roof which now need to be replaced. Have been dealing with this since March and Champion turned over to their insurance company versus dealing with issues themselves. Was told by insurance company on June 5, 2013 that the claim has to go to legal department because Champion may not have insurance that would cover subcontractors quality of work, only work that would be damaging our home. Note: subcontractor came to home along with a supervisor from Champion. The subcontractor verbally abused my husband and the employee from Champion did nothing to stop it. We have been dealing with this issue since March and they have yet to apologize to my husband personally, offer a discount to make it right - nothing. We heard from insurance company on 7-10 and they will be sending a check to us for a new roof, which Champion will not be doing. Front gutters still continue to drip improperly (coming back out on Saturday 7-13-13) to hopefully fix for the last time.

The saleman was very professional and gave us a bid and suggestions on how to replace the windows. However, the price was much more than we wanted to spend to replace the windows on the porch.

From the first meeting with Tom until the job was complete I felt very good about using Champion. No high-pressure sales pitch or trying to sell me stuff I didn't want or couldn't afford. And the crew that did the job was very professional. Showed up right on time (7am) and stayed until the job was finished (about 8:30pm). Job took much longer than expected due to the complete tear-off and redecking, but I didn't hear any complaints out of any of the guys. I wasn't home when the gutter guy showed up the next day but the overall job (roof and gutters) looks fantastic!!! I wouldn't have any problems recommending Champion.

Estimate - delivery - job all very satisfactory. Problem much too many screws out of old units left on drive ways porch.

The service turned out amazing. We are very happy and pleased with the service and the windows installed. They were a great company to deal with. The windows have also made a difference in our utility bill. It was the best money we ever spent.
