Description of Work: My home has had an ant invasion problem. These folks have taken care of that (and continue to) as well as protecting against all other kinds of pests.

Description of Work: I have used Blue Chip for several years now, for preventative and exterminating of insects. I use them for termite checking. I asked them to eliminate a squirrel nest in the eave of my home, which Jeff came out, tore out the squirrel nest (occuppied) and put spikes up on both eaves of my home so the little fellers don't nest there again. They do a prompt, good job. Their staff is professional, and want to always make things right.

Description of Work: We contacted this company in July 2010 after hearing light scratching in an interior wall. The animal control specialist inspected our attic and believed that we had a raccoon living in the attic. He did not see or hear the animal, nor could he locate the point of entrance on the outside of our home (found small hole inside attic that led to soffit,but no obvious outside hole). We paid $250 that day for services and he placed a trap for a raccoon. The specialist returned about 1-2 weeks later to remove the trap (he did not trap anything) and do some minor exclusion work on inside attic hole. He inspected the outside of our home and attic several times and could not figure out where an animal could be entering. We "assumed" the animal left and had not returned. We were not given an invoice that day and believed the follow-up service (trap removal & exclusion) was included in the $250 we had previously paid. We were surprised to later receive a bill for $100. When my husband inquired about the new bill, the specialist was contacted and told the office that we didn't owe anything further. We kept receiving invoices over the next few months for $100 and we continued to call to dispute the charges. Eventually the specialist told the office that we only owed $50. It seemed odd that it went from $100 to $0 to $50, and even odder that we didn't get an invoice at the time of the 2nd service (I always pay service providers that day when given the option). When I requested a copy of the invoice, it was clearly written after the date of service. I paid the $50 even though I'm not sure what it was for and they never found or trapped an animal. $300 is expensive when you have nothing to show for it. Fast-forward to October 2010, we again heard the same scratching in the same wall. Immediately called Blue Chip to have specialist contact me and we never received a call back. Horrible customer service in my opinion. We contacted another provider who came that day and discovered the source of our scratching was mice. How could Blue Chip have been so far off in thinking it was a raccoon. New provider laughed at me when I told him that Blue Chip thought we had a raccoon inside a 6-inch interior wall. New provider noticed mouse droppings, placed mouse and squirrel traps (to be 100% certain) and sure enough, helped us to start trapping mice. He also found several outside holes and gave us advice on how to fill them. I am extremely disappointed in Blue Chip's animal control services, billing practices, and failure to return phone calls.

Description of Work: I called to have someone check my porch for terminates and to spray for ants. The inspector checked my entire home and found no termites. He did spray outside and in the kitchen. He was very good at explaining how the product worked to kill the ants. He also told me that although the product didn't smell, it could bother some one with allergies. Since I do have allergies I appreciated the information and had him only do a limited amount of work inside.

Description of Work: I had them come look at a brown recluse problem we were having. We had been doing major remodeling. I called and had an apptointment two days later. The good news is we didn't have too bad of a problem. We also have had a history of termites. They have a new technology that they can put traps around your house. You can go online and track the monitoring. It is $600 to install and then $600 to maintain annually. We just added a wood floors, cabinets and redid our basement. Now we wouldn't be able to see termites as easy with the basement finished. We wanted to protect our investment. The guys who did the work coulnd't be nicer.
