Description of Work: Refinished hardwood floors in living room, dining room, stairs, hallway, 3 bedrooms and closets, installed quarter round, used "less dust" sanding. They were punctual for the estimate and for all work performed, floors look great. They provided a lot of written information about what to expect. The crew was not real friendly but they completed the work on time and did a good job. I would recommend them.

+ -1 moreThis was a big job, and took about a week, but the floors look wonderful and the work was extremely well done. I think the price (this was in 1996) was quite reasonable. Emile Blake did the bidding and employees carried out the work. They were capable and professional and I will hire them again for any flooring I have done.
Description of Work: Ripped out deteriorated flooring in dining room and living room and replaced it, installed new flooring over old sub-floor in upstairs hall way, refinished floors in three bedrooms and refinished wooden stairs; installed quarter round throughout house.

+ -1 moreDenise and Mr Blake were nice and and easy to deal with. They returned my phone calls very quickly. When I finally decided to hire someone else, they returned my deposit rapidly. If time was not a concern, I certainly would have used them. But time was a concern and they were aware of this, my experience was very frustrating. I believe after missing my first date, I should have been rescheduled for the following day, not pushed to the end of the line.
Description of Work: They were to come in and at first, refinish my floors. We arranged a date. I left the house empty for a few days for them to do the work. On my return, I was surprised to see that no work had been done, and no message was left explaining why. The following Monday I asked what was going on, and was told that not enough of the crew had shown up and that my house was dropped off the schedule. Mr Blake went on to say that he thought I needed new wood on the first floor due to the age and number of times it had already been resanded. I asked how much, and when he could do the work. He indicated towards the end of the week. The following day, I agreed to the additional cost and asked that the work begin, as soon as possible. I called and waited almost two weeks to get the work started. Not being able to go on like this, I asked for a solid start date to begin the work. I got a date that was four weeks after my original date.

+ -1 moreThey did a real good job. It looks very nice, so the expense was worth it. When some of the boards had black spots from removing tacks, I called and they sent someone out before I even hung up. They didn't ask for payment until the job was completed. I had to remind them to bill me.

+ -1 moreMR. BLAKE WAS VERY PROMPT ON GIVING THE ESTIMATE. HE CAME AT ALMOST THE EXACT TIME ON THE DAY SET UP. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK AND EVERYTHING WENT ACCORDING TO THE PLAN THEY LAID OUT. THE WORKERS WERE FRIENDLY AND DID AS GOOD A JOB AS POSSIBLE CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THE FLOORS ARE BEAUTIFUL! BE AWARE THAT BECAUSE BLAKE DOES SUCH A GOOD JOB, THEY ARE IN DEMAND. THE LEAD TIME TO GET ON THE SCHEDULE IS ABOUT 6 WEEKS (AT LEAST IT WAS FOR OUR JOB).
Description of Work: WE HAD THEM REFINISH OUR HARDWOOD FLOORS. THE JOB CONSISTED OF THE LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM, FAMILY ROOM, HALL AND THREE BEDROOMS.
