Description of Work: Stein Design completed two home improvement projects for me during the Summer of 2014 and the Fall of 2014. During the Summer they remodeled my upstairs bathroom and in the Fall they replaced a large deck as well as the siding on the back of my house. They did a great job on both projects. The bathroom remodel was completely headache free. That project was completed in 5 days. The crew who worked on the bathroom was fantastic and I could not be happier with the results. Likewise I am very pleased with the new deck and am looking forward to having it stained this Spring or Summer. The guys who worked on the deck did a fantastic job and obviously took a great deal of pride in their craft and their finished product. While the siding was a bit more problematic, I am also pleased with the end result. Stein Design was very easy to work with and Trey Stein is truly invested in making certain that his customers are happy with the results. He came on a daily basis when his crews were working to check on progress and address concerns. I seldom had any concerns. I would not hesitate to call on Trey again for future home improvement projects and will highly recommended him and his company to others.

Description of Work: Bathroom remodel. The project went well. They were on time, no surprises. What they told us they would do they did. Also provided guidance in making choices. We were very satisfied. Only downside was final completion of project took about two weeks longer than planned just need to allow enough time for project.

The workers were not invasive at all, except for seeing the improvements from day to day, I could hardly tell they were in my home. The finished product is beautiful, the craftsmanship in the laying of the tile on the floors and in the showers is superb. Would not hesitate to contact them for any other remodel work in my home.

+ 4 moreTold work would begin in 6 wks; it was 4 mons. Had to contact them to find out what was going on and were put off week after week. Told work would last for 2 wks, it was closer to 4. They covered up items in 1 of 3 rooms they were in; thick layer of dust is everywhere. Minimal clean-up at end of day. Consistently left lights on, drinks out and once, left the hose running, flooding the backyard. Instead of dumpster, they piled debris in front of back door (the door we use). Called repeatedly to request they haul debris. One night came home to find someone else's debris in front of back door. We agreed that we'd paint, but they didn't do any finish details. Didn't fill the nail holes in door frames, re-stain baseboard they banged up. We expected new baseboard along the new wall in the bedroom; no. Added expense was electric sub panel we thought was part of original bid, since we discussed when we walked through the project. Overall they were slow, sloppy, and full of excuses.
Description of Work: We took the closet from the bedroom next to the master and closed it off. We moved the wall in that bedroom in about a foot. This allowed us to carve out an enlarged closet and a half bath in the master bedroom. They ran the plumbing in the basement so it cut off the headroom in one area and completely blocked the use of a closet. When we requested they relocate it we were met with a much resistance. They finally did it saying later that it was a great idea. Laid the bathroom floor tile to the outside of the door frame so that it shows outside the bathroom door. You need to be at least 6' tall to reach the toilet paper roll. I'm only 5'1". The towel bar was hung on the only wall we could use for storage.

Trey was easy to work with and went out of his way to find a particular size siding we wanted. The workmen were wonderful also. They were obviously experienced and did an excellent job. Trey came by everyday and checked the job to make sure that we were happy and that the workmen had every thing that they needed.
Description of Work: Stein removed old siding from our home, then covered the home with insulated backer board, vinyl siding, soffit and fascia, and seamless gutters. They covered all trims, then cleaned up all job debris and hauled away.

Initially, we were told that it would take 2 to 3 days to do all the windows, and they were able to knock it out in one long 12 hour day. They were great at cleaning up after themselves. We are having them come out now and redo our entire kitchen. Their price was slightly higher than others, but they are worth the money.

+ 1 moreSam was great to work with from start to finish. He initially gives you a verbal estimate and if you find it to your liking he will then write out the contract. His estimate was significantly better than 2 others we received. He provides you with many ideas and insights. He then works with you in picking out the tile, the sinks and fixtures, and tops. He will meet you at the various stores to select the products. We were quite pleased with what we could choose from and still remain within the original price quote. It took about 6 weeks from the signing of the contract to when the work actually started, but it was completed within 2 weeks. Sam's crewmen were polite, punctual, and conscientious. They picked up after themselves. They were sensitive to our needs (such as not taking the washer and dryer out of commission until they were really going to work in that area). They did a great job. We couldn't be happier with how the kitchen looks or how they treated us.
Description of Work: Sam and his crew remodeled our kitchen and bathroom: 1. They removed our old wall oven/ microwave combo and raised the space for the new one and installed it. 2. They removed our old tile flooring and the linoleum that was underneath that and the plywood beneath that and replaced it with cement board underflooring and new tile in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. 3. They removed all of our old countertops (kitchen, island, wet bar and a desk in the dinette) and replaced them with Cambria countertops. 4. They removed the kitchen sink and wet bar sink and replaced them with 2 new Blanco stainless steel sinks and 2 new Moen faucets. 5. They removed our old stove top and replaced with a new one and fixed the downdraft duct work and the wiring. 6. They installed our new refrigerator. 7. They hauled away all of the old appliances, old flooring, and all debris. 8. They replaced our old vanity top with a new cultured marble top.

+ 3 moreAbsolutely no complaints! The work team (Jeremy and Mike) could not have been any nicer or more professional! They paid attention to the details on everything they did and their work quality was impeccable! They also had terrific suggestions along the way and were very knowledgeable. (They were also very nice and attentive to my dog, who now misses them!) They cleaned up the jobsite every evening and were extremely careful with flooring throughout the house. The owner and his son were also very attentive to the entire process and their follow-up was always prompt and professional! Excellent company! They are not the cheapest, but I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Stein Design was hired for a complete bathroom remodel. Everything was replaced except the bathtub. The shower was enlarged with new basin, glass and tile. Original double doorway was removed and single doorway was installed to accommodate a larger shower. New tile was installed on the floor and bathtub deck. New cabinets, lights, sinks, toilet and all new fixtures were also installed. Walls and ceiling were painted as well.

+ 1 moreCalled for estimate. Trey returned call that day and we set up a day/time for him to give the estimate. A couple of weeks later, after deciding on Stein Design, Trey came out again and we finalized the contract. He explained the process - he would order the materials(about 3 weeks), and then we would set up a day to start the job. He said the major part of the job would take about 2 days, then the shower door space could be measured and doors ordered. It would take a few hours to install those. That was almost exactly the correct estimate for the job. Trey came the first day to introduce his workers; it took 2 days for the major work, three days later the shower doors were installed in about one hour. During the process, Trey called several times to check if things were going okay, then he came over when the job was finished to inspect and ask if we had any questions/problems. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Partial Bath Remodel. Remove tub, replace with full shower (corner seat, grab bar, flexible shower hose, shower caddy). Remove toilet, replace with elongated comfort height toilet. Replace sink faucet and stopper. Install 4 foot grab bar along wall.

He was always patient and offered excellent ideas to solve storage problems and create the finished product that I wanted--very experienced and current on today's products. Sam consistently returned calls promptly and met with me to make adjustments. His suppliers were also patient, helpful and experienced. Sam designed a vanity that is gorgeous and the cabinetmaker did a superb job. The crew that did the work (Michael and Jeremy) was experienced, skilled, hard-working, trustworthy, prompt, polite, easy to work with and knowledgeable. They did all the work which is excellent, especially the tile work which they did to my specifications. All three guys were polite and responded to my concerns and requests seriously. Sam checked on progress daily and I was comfortable having them in my home. My bathroom is exactly what I wanted. I clearly got my money's worth in design, materials, craftsmanship and service.
Description of Work: Tore out old bathroom. Installed tub, personal shower, drywall, tile floor, toilet, vent fan, new light fixture, vanity, medicine cabinet, sink and fixtures. Sam was especially helpful suggesting options for cutting costs without giving up the important elements. Again he worked patiently with me to make decisions about tiles, cabinets, appliances, floors, counter tops, sinks, etc. His suppliers and cabinet designer were equally as patient and helpful. Again he sent Michael and Jeremy to do the work. Their experience and skills are commendable-- they are also hard-working and determined to get the job done well and as quickly as possible. They always kept me informed about their progress and what to expect. Their tile work is beautiful. They also did some extra repairs on a door. Sam has been quick to take care of the one missed detail and was attentive and responsive to my concerns throughout the project. My kitchen is everything I hoped it would be. Again, I have no doubt that I got my money's worth.
