Description of Work: I was overcharged for 2 hours worth of work in 2013 and given a $160 credit for future use. I sold my house in January and used the credit to apply to work required by the city to pass housing code for sale of property. The work was reinspected and did not pass code. I called the service and they responded IMMEDIATELY and provided a technician who performed the work free of charge and it passed inspection at that point. The price per hour is double for what I can get from an individual without using the "connection" service.

Description of Work: The Handyman Connection finish installing a wall bed. The company knew I was on a short time line as I was expecting quest within the next week. They sent and fine young man who finished the job in the amount of time he proposed. Job well done.

Description of Work: We had a number of small repairs needed around the house and our handyman took care of them all.

Description of Work: We had a scheduled plumbing repair when the part just blew. Water went everywhere including furnace duct. Furnace shut off. When handyman heard he showed up with a portable heater, so we could stay warm while he worked. Fixed the furnace and the plumbing. Excellent customer service.

Description of Work: I was having a new kitchen sink installed by a friend and discovered that the existing opening was a quarter of an inch too small. My friend didn't feel comfortable cutting my marble counter top so he left me to find someone to make the hole larger. At this point my kitchen sink was already dismantled. I got on the phone and no one wanted to touch it without coming out and removing the whole counter-top and taking it to their shop for a few weeks. When I called Handyman I told them my situation and told them that I would sign a waiver that I would not make them pay for a new counter-top if they cracked it. They were able to send someone out that day and he even showed up an hour early. He did a perfect job, sink fit perfectly, and my friend was able to come back the next morning to finish the job.

Description of Work: When I called the company, two of their men came out to give me an estimate. It was unclear to me how they figured the charge so I called their office later. The woman gave me another price after calling the men to see what they were charging for. Later she called me back. I think I was given three different prices. I felt that it was unprofessional and was uncomfortable with the way they handled the estimate and did not use them. This was a job to do interior painting. This happened last fall.

Description of Work: This was a dire emergency. Had contacted another contractor, who gave me a bunch of crap about the details of the job quoting a 'ball-park figure.' Telephoned this contractor and was amazed that someone could come out the next day. While there was exemplary professionalism, perhaps it would have behooved me to have gotten the price of the job in writing before the actual work took place. Maybe to some, an hourly rate of $65 is reasonable, but to me, it is quite pricey. Additionally, I couldn't avail myself of the coupon--even though it was explained that the configuration of the $399 netted me the better price. I do thank the company for its prompt response to my dilemma.

Description of Work: We had a light that kept flipping the circuit breaker and we didn't know why. He figured out that we had too high of wattage on the light up above.

Description of Work: I had them finish the outside door carpentry services of a botched job by another construction company. They were very fast with the estimate and, although slightly higher than I would have liked, I choose them because they were able to do the job earlier than the other handyman I contacted. I wanted it done expeditiously because of change of weather and because the guy from the previous construction company obviously drove by my house and called me to tell me he had seen the job wasn't done and was willing to come back. Well, the first day, they called in sick. The second day it was supposed to be done, I received no call( I wasn't around, but was on cell phone). Three was the charm, so the job was done six days after originally scheduled. As I work near home, I was able to pop in the car and drive by the house a few times during the day (I was, of course, concerned that the job wouldn't get done that day also). Well, as of 11:30 AM, nothing had been done. As of 2:50 PM, the job was done and the guy was gone. I was charged for six hours work. Additionally, I received a call on my cell at about 3:30 PM telling me the job was done. They had no way of knowing I had been by to see the work, but they were very prompt in asking for my credit card number, rather abruptly and rudely, I might add. Only after they received my payment information did they say that they hoped I would use them again in the future. I won't.
