Description of Work: They did all types of handyman work before we moved out of our home. They reconnected a switch on a ceiling fan. He repaired a toilet, changed locks, did some carpet repair as well. He did painting and repair as well. He fixed the dishwasher.

 + 1 moreThe man that came out to do the work was named Chester. While removing the cabinets he smashed everything to bits and threw all the pieces out into my backyard. He did not clean up any of the mess in my backyard. He put two of the cabinets back up and then never came back to finish the work. I have had to find someone else to complete the work. He was going to charge me $1300 initially, but then said he would refund $500 of it because I didn't like the work that he was doing. I would recommend that anyone considering using them be very careful!
Description of Work: He put a hardwood floor in my kitchen and removed all my cabinets. He put only 2 of the cabinets back up.

 + 1 moreThe servicemen arrived on time. We told and showed them the work we like to be done. They gave an estimate and told what parts we would need for the work to be performed. They repaired the light to bathroom and basement stairwell the first day(about 4 hrs). We were told they would have to return for another appointment to add the GFI plug and would call later with the time. Later, that evening they called with the new date and time. They arrived promptly. They worked on cutting a hole for the installation of the GFI plug , installed and wired the plug and repatched the hole after the installation was done. We will have to repaint around the patched area. We were fine with that and very pleased with the work done.
Description of Work: The servicemen (Juan & Keith) had to do some wiring work to restore light to a bathroom fixture that was not working, added a GFI plug to same bathroom and repaired and changed out the light fixture to the basement stairwell. This work was done over two days. They were prompt, courteous, and professional.

 + 3 moreI have had some bad experiences with other companies/people working on my house before so I always sign a contract with trepidation. This turned out to be a good experience.
Description of Work: I had water damage to a bathroom floor that also made the toilet unstable. The gentleman from Handyman Connection repaired the floor by installing new sub-flooring, laying new ceramic tile, and stabilizing the toilet. He also did some work on my basement sump pump which needed to be stabilized, as well. He was prompt, came when he said he would, took care not to leave a big mess, finished the job on time without disruption, and was careful of my hardwood flooring (I was concerned that it would be scratched; it had been refinished recently). I would recommend this company.

 + 0 moreIt was okay; the work was good. I got access to the service faster than I would have otherwise but there was a disconnect with how their business plan goes. They get somebody who finds a worker and they have a list of workers. They make appointments before they have a worker chosen for it so it took a couple of times to get the worker. I set up dates a couple of times and then there was no worker. On the other hand the other services I called were going to be 8 weeks out so I got the service a lot faster. I got the service faster than I would have but there was a disconnect in the communication between them and the actual service provider at times. I still got good work and I got it sooner than I would have otherwise but they need to work on their communication between them and the individuals who actually do the work. The way they do it is that they set a date and then put it out to all their contractors, and nobody was picking the contract. They were a little more on price. I would use them again.
Description of Work: I used Handyman Connection to replace a ceiling.

While I can't vouch for all the contractors if they are anything like Neil you can't go wrong with Handyman Connection. We're very pleased with the work and have already scheduled another appointment to hang our new lights!
Description of Work: Neil did a great job. He installed new outlets ran some electrical, hung our TV and figured out a brilliant way for us to fish wires back and forth the cabinet we store out electronics in.

 + 2 moreFantastic! They arrived when they said they would and was done on time. Please note: The subcontractor, Greg Kisner, was leaving this firm over a wage dispute. We are extremely loyal to Greg and would seek him out should any future work be required.
Description of Work: They installed an access door to our garage ceiling storage area; finished out siding and boxed out chimney which was exposed when we had our patio redone; replaced 2 stringers supporting the fireplace which had rotted through; wired our basement with 14 new outlets, installed a ceiling light with switch, also rewired the fuse box to comply with current code regs.

 + 5 moreThey came within a few days of calling to give an estimate on the job. We scheduled the job to coordinate with a plumber. Gregory showed up on time and was very professional. Due to the plumbing issue the job turned out to be more involved than we thought. Since there is only one bathroom in the house, Gregory worked until 11:30 that night to put the toilet in. He also had to put up some drywall because the plumber had to cut through the wall to get to the pipes. He came back again early the next morning to finish the floor and install the vanity. It looks great and we are very pleased with the work. we would certainly hire this company again.
Description of Work: replaced part of floor and subfloor damaged by leaking pipe in bathroom also installed toilet and vanity.

She also communicated that urgency to the gentlemen that came out to perform the repairs. They arrived on time and covered their shoes walking across the house. They discussed with me what was necessary to be done and then headed to the hardware store. They found a solution that was cost effective. The work was done quickly and looks great. I would definitely use again.
Description of Work: I needed drywall patched, a door rehung and another area repaired in my basement. A previous owner had dry walled in the gas meter and when repaired were necessary before closing the area around the meter needed to be torn up. The work needed to be done by someone external as that was part of the deal for the escrow account. I wanted to be creative in how the work was done so that access could be provided in the future easily and without more damage. The gentlemen from Handyman Connection worked with me on a solution to put in some quarter round and then put some drywall as a "shelf"

What stood out to me most about the service was that John was honest, straight forward and professional. Their price was definitely good. I had priced this work with another company and Handyman Connection Company did it for half of what the other company had quoted.

The handyman was very thorough in explaining what he was going to do and how long it would take him. He was professional, courteous and worked quickly. Additionally, Handyman Connection?s customer service/appointment setting phone support is excellent. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I had two 3-way switches that were not operating correctly. The handyman re-wired the switches and installed new switches.

 + 0 moreThe plumber was not professional and seemed to imply the fixtures we selected wouldn't work. His estimate was $500 more than another plumber we contacted. He also brought his child with him because he was sick and had been throwing up all day. Apparently he'd been asleep in his truck and the father had a monitor so he could hear him if he woke up. He brought him inside and proceeded to give me an estimate of the plumbing upgrade we wanted. This same handy man service was supposed to send a painter the same day but he called to rescedule for 1:00 on Friday. I waited until 2:30 for them so call or show up and when I got home they left a flyer on the door they had missed me. They will not be giving me an estimate!
Description of Work: They were giving me an estimate of a plumbing job for remodeling 3 bathrooms.

 + 3 moreI got an estimate from Jeff within a day of contacting them. I initially hired him to repair and paint 3 rear entry doors at about one-tenth of the cost of the estimates I had gotten for replacing them. They are metal over wood and the wood has some water damage. I then added some weather stripping for the doors. He pointed out that the weather stripping had magnetic strips to make contact with the metal, which I didn't know, and he was able to get it online. He also top-coated the wood thresholds and applied silicone caulk to the thresholds where the weather stripping had dry rotted. The weather stripping was no longer available ($900.00 parts and labor for all the work on the 3 doors). He also caulked and painted the cedar siding and wood trim on the entire two-story house ($2500 parts and labor). While he was caulking he repaired and painted holes in the siding caused by a flicker. He did a great job on everything. I would definitely hire him again. In fact I did. He replaced two faucets and drain stoppers in the master bath and again did a great job ($480 labor; I purchased the faucets separately). I could trust him alone in my house so I was able to go to work. I will definitely use Handyman Connection for any future projects.
Description of Work: Jeff repaired 3 rear entry doors; water damage, weather stripping, thresholds, and paint. He also caulked and painted the cedar siding and wood trim on the exterior of the house and he replaced two faucets and drain stoppers in the master bathroom.

 + 5 moreThe response time was excellent. They were prompt on meeting for an estimate and started the job when they said they would. The jobs were all done as expected and the paint job was very good. Because this was a situation where work had to be done on a condo unit needing to be put on the market and I did not live there, it was easy for me to deal with one company instead of hiring several individuals to do separate jobs. There was always someone in the office (during business hours) to take phone calls and they are very responsive to the customer.
Description of Work: Small repairs, such as patching a water leak on wall, capping a water line, replacing bathroom fixtures, replacing toilet seats, hanging towel bars. Replaced an interior door. Sanded and refinished a small hardwood floor area. Also put vinyl flooring in kitchen and 2 baths, replaced washing machine pan in laundry area. Repaired and primed all walls and painted whole condo: ceilings, walls and trim.

Description of Work: He was running a tab I had to order new wallpaper he used paint primer for the walls rto be wallpaper instead of wallpaper primer. Blamed me on the wall paper He stated two hours to complete a job with it seemed did not take two hour Charged $100 for putting a light with about a chain (which to him he had to cut)all this took approx. 5 minutes. i Did not understand his pricing. Plus he drove one-way from Illinois it took him a hour to get hear. His wife kept calling he was on the phone a lot. I did want to pay him for assembling a exercise machine which he said two hours which it did not. I did not want to pay him for that because he botched the wallpaper which he said took two the second time. He did plumbing for me with a with a new vanity. I am waiting to see if that is going to work. He left a lot to take his daughter somewhere and drive another hour and hour back. Late when arriving because he had to deliver some stuff for his wife's work which I do not where that is. The Handyman office says that me do that. I wind costing more for the work he did I suggest he stay in Illinois and work. Maybe men understand Neil Cornell and that office because I sure don't. I do not recommend the Fenton office at all. The date he finished was approx. but it took appro 3 weeks. My acct has all the pink slips for the work he did for which he only understood and I will have the exact dates then.

 + 0 moreI was absolutely driven crazy since their work was poor. They eventually kind of got the speed, but everything took much longer than it was supposed to. It was supposed to take a day or maybe a day and a half, but it turned out to be a week or ten days to correct as well as try to get things done. We had a really rough time with them. It was very frustrating. We told them that we were through with them and we asked them not to come back. We paid the bill what they sent. So it was resolved, but they were absolutely awful. The wall was eventually painted, but it took a long time than it ever should have. It was distressing. I had to make a bunch of phone calls to get the people out here to do things. The person who runs the place was pleasant. We were very unhappy with their work. I had to buy more paint, but it looks okay now. However, their job initially wasn?t good. Finally, it was the painter who did the good job at the end after numerous attempts. I wouldn?t use their services in the future.
Description of Work: We used the services of Handyman Connection for interior painting and plumbing work last year. They did several different things.

 + 0 moreI called Handyman Connection and they set up a time for an estimate for the next day. He came out and looked at the doorway and the door (I had already bought one at Home Depot). Then he quoted me a $125 price (which is only $25 more than a Home Depot installation but they come out quicker and show up on time which I have heard isn't a trait that the Home Depot guys share so totally worth the extra $25). I then set up a time for a couple days later that fit both our schedules. He came out and had it installed in about an hour or so. Works perfectly and he aligned it perfectly (our old door had a giant gap between the floor and where the door started which was how mice were getting into our house). Overall a great experience.
