Handyman Connection of Chesterfield

Handyman Connection sent Tom Douglas to my home for the requested estimate to be done. He arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He went over all the items with me, checked to make sure I had the items needed for the work. Since he had some time available that afternoon, he started the work after I accepted the estimate. It took a couple of days for the drywall work since it had to dry and then be sanded down twice. Each time he came back, he was on time and cleaned up all residue from the sanding. He was very neat in all the work he undertook. Because of the caliber of his work, I asked him to give me an idea what could be done with a problem I had in my laundry room. That became another project which I will report on separately. I would definitely use Handyman Connection again and would like to have Mr. Douglas do the work!

Since I had Tom Douglas from Handyman Connection do some work at my home several weeks previously and was very pleased with the job he did, I asked for him to give me suggestions for these repairs and an estimate of the costs involved. He was very helpful in getting me through this process. He always showed up as scheduled, was neat with all aspects of his work and was helpful and courteous. He cleaned up all debris and hauled it away. If you need a "handyman," Tom is a great person to call on. The work was done on time, in budget and looks great. I am very pleased with the job and would use Handyman Connection and Tom for any future work I need.

Mark was very professional and knowledgeable. The first day he came on time and assessed the situation. The next day he arrived on time with the necessary materials to fix the door. We are very pleased by Mark's work. Top notch service.

It took a while for him to get here--because of family issues--but he did a very good job and was very professional.

Jerry from Handyman Connection came by to look over the problem and provide an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and work was scheduled for two weeks after his visit. Total time to repair the door was around 4 hours over 2 days so plaster/mud could dry. Jerry was very professional and performed quality work. I would definitely use Handyman Connection again.

I last used them December 10th and I spent $160. Everything he did was excellent. His name was Joe. They were punctual, they did excellent work, they stood behind their work, they responded to my calls and it didn't take long for the service to be scheduled and for them to come and do it.

That was great!! They did that. That was four years ago. They did some ceramic tile in the house. It was couple $100 maybe more I don't remember. They had actually done some other work at the same time. They were great! They are fine. They are punctual, and professional. They know what they are doing. They advice us if there were couple of issues that were little different we didn’t know about and he advices about them and took care of it.

Everything was completed timely

I think his name was Mark. We couldn't figure out what to do, who to call, and finally decided to try him. He knew what to do and came the next day at one o'clock and had it all fixed. I was very please. He was professional, very nice man, and he seemed to be very knowledgeable on what he;s doing. Clean-up was great.

The guy who gave the bid seemed very professional and capable. He estimated 4 hours at $320 plus materials. That's $80/hour which I already think is overpriced. I used to have a guy who charged $50/hour and I thought that was pretty steep. I decided to hire them because I wanted the work done quickly. The guy performing the work was 45 minutes late for his start time. He also finished in 2.25 hours. He still charged me the full rate based on his 4 hour estimate. So, basically, I was charged $142/hour. I did not receive the quality of work I would expect paying $142/hour. Some of the work was pretty basic and seemed fine, but there are still nail pops that were not fixed and the grout used doesn't match my grout at all. I hired them based on the reviews on Angie's list and most were very good. I will say that I was not wholly impressed with this company and would not hire them again.

I have used them twice and they were good. They were very professional, reasonably, timely and got the job done quickly.

They were suppose to come out at 9:00 am, but called and said they were working on an emergency repair of a water pipe and the woman had no heat since 2:00 am. They came in the afternoon around 1:00 PM and attached the mailbox to the pole.

Started dripping again that evening. Handyman Con. came out next day. Fixed again. Next day had a under sink cabinet filled with water and water ruined ceiling downstairs. I called a local expensive plumber I had used before. Bought new faucet. Wrong Size. Plumber had to come out again next day to install correct faucet. I was charged by plumber for two service calls, plus labor and cost of new faucet. One expensive week. I will only use plumber and electricians that are certified and I have used before. I have used Handyman connection before without a problem.

Great job and looks like it was the original job

It went very good. He came when he said he would. He called before he started to make sure we bought everything he needed. He got in done in about 6 hours. I would definitely use them again.

You should be aware that the company won't send a worker unless they have confirmation shortly before the appointment that you are at home. I had scheduled an appointment and was unaware of this policy. They called fifteen minutes before the scheduled appointment. My cell phone was on silent and upstairs in my office, so I missed the call. They diverted the worker to another job when I did not call back to confirm. I was on my first floor waiting for them to arrive. Seems they are more interested in making sure they don't waste time on no shows than getting your job done.

The door repair and storm door install was fine, he did a good job. However, the caulking job was poor. He left several times during the job, with no explanation, and a small job turned into a couple of days. He also left in the middle of caulking, apparently because someone else on his crew didn't show up for work, however, he left the caulking spreader IN my toilet, it was a nasty mess. Caulk also went all down into the bottom curve of the toilet. He didn't clean that up when he left, so it hardened and I had to spend time trying to pry it out with a long screwdriver. I was, and am, very concerned about my piping and whether this is going to cause problems in the long term. As hard as that caulk was to pry loose, I doubt very much if it will ever dissolve. The caulk job itself was also was poor - there are still many tiles that have no caulk. I wouldn't say I received a detailed, complete job. He was very nice, however, I felt like I was being pushed to the bottom of the barrel when he kept leaving because another job needed help. I wouldn't use them again.

It was a busy night with many pipes bursting. Russell had plenty on his plate, but he still came in terrible traffic. He did what he could to get our water back on. He got use to the next step which was calling ServPro in. No one else could come. Russell had more stops and it was after 8pm when he came. We appreciated his hard work.

It has worked out pretty well. He put some sealant around the screen, it is serving its purpose. The first time I was pretty satisfied but this time he came by himself and he wasn't as careful as he was before, perhaps a little rushed.

Frank from Handyman Connection was great. He came on time, was professional and friendly and got right to work. The appointment was for an estimate, but he was able to go ahead and do the job, which was a great relief and convenience, and he did a fine job. I would definitely ask for him again.

The employee arrived on-time. It took a lot longer because of complications with a shower relating to tile and drywall work. The work has been holding up well and the price was reasonable. A different service provider's estimate was three times as much. They were top-knotch.

Went very well. Responsive, showed on time, respectful, and nice. Price is high but quality of work is good. Explained that the price is higher because they are fully insured.

It went really well! They were very helpful and polite. I’ve used them several times and will continue to do so. They’re not the cheapest out there but we’ve had no issues with any of the work they’ve done. I’m very happy with them.
