After his above quote of $600, we told him that we wanted a second opinion. At that time he said, we need to pay him $115 for his less than 5 min spent with us. We politely asked him to only charge for diagnostic as he did not perform any service. He immediately snapped at us that we needed to pay him right away, otherwise he will go to small sessions court. He then hung up and called us back in 5 minutes that he had already contacted his attorney and was going to the court. On top of that he made a comment that ' YOU INDIANS ALWAYS DO LIKE THIS'. We still paid him his due but the experience was extremely unpleasant. We got a second opinion and the replacement part cost us $60 and the service $120. As we mentioned before, an extremely unpleasant experience with such a comment on our race. He should mention in his ad that he would not like to work for 'INDIANS'. We have a record of his texts and his calls.
Description of Work: The provider ( Tim Ryan ) came to our house to check a fault in the water heater. He arrived and just looked at the heater system and named a part that needed to be changed. He spent less than 5 minutes in our house. Then told us that the replacement part would cost around $400. He then gave us a service ticket of $115 for his time spent in our house. Next day he called that the replacement part with his service will cost total around $600 .

This customer called for no hot water. I clearly explained that a service call fee was $115.00 and that this covered the first hour of service. He agreed. Two hours later I arrived. The State hot water heater was 7 years old and had a bad gas valve. State recommends that the pilot assembly be replaced at the same time. The pilot assembly has a fuse in the thermocouple line so only oem parts can be used. This customer became angry and argumentative when I told him it was broken and need to actually be repaired. Strange way to act seeing that I didn't break it. I called the next day and gave my price to repair. The customer became even more angry. I recommended that he call another company if he did not think my price was honest. I also informed him that he would still need to pay my service call fee. He ended the call. I then received a call back and he stated that Hoffman brothers heating and cooling was on the way out with a service call fee of $65.00 and also stated that he was not going to pay me for my fee. He told me that he would give me a bad review on angies list if I pursued it. I then informed him that I would not give in to threats or allow him to use angie's list to extort money from my company. I then ended the call. I called hoffman brothers and they said that their fee was $95.00 just to diagnose the problem with no additional time included. The customers wife then started to call and text me wanting to satisfy the bill. I reduced the fee to $95.00 to match hoffmann brothers and she agreed. I then started to receive threatening text from this customer until I blocked his number! The customer has clearly played a race card in this review. No racial comments were made. I will now file a law suit against this customer for using angie's list to extort work and money from my company and for slandering the way I put food on the table for my company. I have recordings of all the conversations and have notified my attorney. I have also pled my case to angie's list and they have stated that they would take note of this issue and investigate. This is not the first time that someone has used angie's list for extortion and in the past I have given in to it with my pleading to angie's list falling on def ears. Not this time

He was mainly there to sell us $2000 worth of equipment. We bought a deal and he didn't do anything he was supposed to do. While my husband was on the phone he SP slammed the door and left. He shouldn't have been offering a BD if you don't plan to do any of the work.
Description of Work: He was supposed to do a Tune Up, Inspect the fireplace for safe operation, and cleaning the thermocouples and pilot assembly. and thoroughly clean everything replace the embers. He cleaned the glass only after he was asked to do so. We asked if he checked the furnace and he said ok. He wouldn't do the embers because he only dealt with certain embers. He made all kinds of repair estimates. He said he would vacuum out the cobwebs and did not do it. He didn't even bring one in.

First off the deal I have on angie's list is for a WORKING fireplace only. If you read it, you would have noticed this under "THE FINE PRINT". When I arrived I was greeted by a man who I would assumed to be [Member Name Removed]. He smelled like a 50 year old bottle of Jim Beam and was so drunk he could hardly stand up. At times he was crawling around on the floor. Despite this bizarre and inappropriate drunken behavior I still performed the clean and check. The fireplace was over 25 years old and not in working order. I informed [Member Name Removed] that his wife should called me back so I can explain options. This never happened. I never gave a quote either. If I did it would have been on a service ticket or email. I then showed myself out wile he was talking to himself in the kitchen. You may tolerate this behavior out of him and even think it is normal but I DO NOT! I also have a video of this man crawling around on the floor that was taken on my phone to protect myself from something like this review from happening. We are suppose to grow wiser and more enlightened as we get older for christ sake. Good luck with being a drunker's dream [Member Name Removed]. This review is dishonest and pathetic

I am very frustrated with Trinity as they rescheduled twice and then still didn't show on the date and time they assured my someone would be there. I am now turning this over to my credit card company to get a refund.
Description of Work: Tim rescheduled twice and assured me he would be here on a Monday at 9:30. No one showed up and that evening at 6:30 he left a message on my phone saying he just realized no one came to my house. I called two more times trying to get someone to come and service my fireplace and he did not return my calls. I have contacted my credit card company to get a refund on the amount I paid almost a month ago.

Responsive to scheduling. Called the day of the schedule to let me know he was running behind due to other customer needed additional service and wanted to make sure I was okay with the delay, which I was. He did arrive within the updated schedule. He adjusted the chimney door which did not close completely, suggested to replace the pilot light device $100 which I approved, vacuumed the logs and walls.

It was alright. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was disappointed not knowing what I was expecting. They did say it was going to be a 17-point inspection, but that doesn't mean that it was a total inspection. He explained that he has to do that to be on Angie's List. He does check on for anything which is not working from visually more than what he can see from outside then he opens it up. He didn't get detailed into that but I don't know for $49 what I was expecting. It was fine. He seemed to be nice. When I was thinking that it was through Angie's List, I feel like it was a miscommunication from Angie's List's part. I wish I would have known what that 17-point inspection mean. Is it going to mean, they are going to check for this and this so I didn't have a baseline to go off so I don't necessarily know. That could have been done better between the vendor and Angie's List to come up with a list of things to be done. The pricing was fine. It wasn't too bad. It would probably cost him gas to come down to me. Apparently he was really busy and then after that it ran down. He was willing to work it out. There was some miscommunication because he didn't respond after 2-3 weeks. At the day he came out, he came out at the time he told me to. He was a great guy.
Description of Work: I used the Big Deal for Trinity Heating, Cooling, & Refrigeration LLC where they looked at my system and they said it looked fine. They cleaned out the outside of the air conditioning. They basically took one of my hoses attached to a sprayer and they had a nozzle, and just sprayed out. They said we should keep spraying it twice a year because that helps a lot. He looked at the capacitor and said it looks okay right now, but it might need to be changed. They said they last 5 or 10 years. It looked like it was up to that point that it might go bad so he offered me that he could change it right away for $150 or $200. I denied that. I said I would just keep it the way it is right now because I have a homeowner's warranty so if it goes off, I would probably get to the warranty. Other than that, he really didn't do a whole lot.

It turned out fine. We ended up asking for some more services to be performed and paid for those. It was about $300 total, including the price of the deal. We had some scheduling problems to start with. The quality was fine. Everything is exactly like it should be. I would recommend them. They did what we asked. He did the troubleshooting for me. I would just try to nail down the schedule early and then everything else would be fine.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal from them. They did recharge the system with a couple of pounds of refrigerant. I think they cleaned the condenser coil as well.

They said it would cost quite a bit to fix. They promised to call back and that was the last I heard of them. It took them too long to get back to me where I don't remember them. They were honest to say that they could not recommend using the fireplace because of the situation it was in. I liked their honesty. I liked that the person was personable and nice. I don't know what happened after that. I was very satisfied with their work. That time, we heard what we needed to hear. They didn't call back to solve the problem.

Actually fulfilling two or three scheduled appointments was challenging due to the constant rain. Now the AC is cooling much better. House actually gets cold at times. The approximate cost includes Angie's list Deal price, freon, and stop leak.
Description of Work: The serviceman checked the entire unit inside and out. Drained pan beneath furnace and unclogged hose, He also cleaned the outside unit and put more freon in unit. He informed me that I have a leak. At this service call he was out of stop leak, We made an appointment for him to come back with stop leak, but did not charge me another service charge, I thought that was fair. The next appointment was later then scheduled, however he did call and advise me. Stop leak was added.

REBUTTAL TO THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE:This guy is so unprofessional and manipulative. First, the claim about my wife not speaking good English and not being able to understand was untrue and is an attempt to disqualify an honest review. My house itself is 9 years old and he claims that the A/C unit is 12 years old ? how could that be true? It?s sad that a person with an associate degree doesn?t know the difference between inspection and tuning. Per the terms of the service, he was supposed to perform several things like: Calibrating and leveling thermostat Cleaning filters as needed Lubricating and inspecting bearings for wear Cleaning indoor coil (if accessible) Flushing and treating condensate drain with anti-algae product Inspecting condenser coil Cleaning condenser coil and removing debris Inspecting duct work for energy loss Inspecting safety devices for proper operation Inspecting fan blades Tightening all electrical connections Inspecting disconnect box for proper rating and installation What all if he performed was the following: Inspecting service valves for proper operation Measuring temperature difference between supply and return Monitoring compressor for proper amp draw, volt draw, and wiring connections Monitoring operating pressures of refrigerant Monitoring volts and amps on fan motor Inspecting and testing contractor for burns and/or pits Inspecting electrical for exposed wiring Inspecting and testing capacitors I never asked this guy for a refund to start with. I questioned the things that were not performed but he was the one who offered a refund multiple times as a tactic. When I accepted the offer, he took my name and address saying he will mail the check, which he never did. It?s funny to see his comments about stealing money and karma etc. I feel sorry for this guy as he was the one who wants to steal customer?s money by not performing what he was paid to do so. Also, claims about covering the repair costs that were never needed in the first place. He was trying to sell humidifier and fill Freon when there was no issue with it (I got it checked since then by another professional company). People are here for honest reviews including myself. When I see unprofessional people like this guy, I wanted to warn others to be careful. If this guy is any good, see the reviews for the past couple of months by several people. You will understand.
Description of Work: 20-Point Air-Conditioning Tune-Ups Purchased 2 "20-Point Air-Conditioning Tune-Ups" for $98 through Big deal from this company. It took 4 attempts to get the appointment scheduled. An hour before the scheduled appointment, he called me and mentioned that he can't make it and rescheduled to next week. On the actual day of the schedule, he stopped by and looked at my A/C unit for 5 minutes ... hooked up a meter on a wire and wrapped up with conclusions. Per the actual deal, he was supposed to perform: Calibrating and leveling thermostat Cleaning filters as needed Lubricating and inspecting bearings for wear Cleaning indoor coil (if accessible) Flushing and treating condensate drain with anti-algae product Inspecting condenser coil Monitoring operating pressures of refrigerant Inspecting safety devices for proper operation Inspecting disconnect box for proper rating and installation Monitoring volts and amps on fan motor Tightening all electrical connections Inspecting and testing contractor for burns and/or pits Inspecting electrical for exposed wiring Inspecting and testing capacitors Inspecting fan blades Cleaning condenser coil and removing debris Inspecting service valves for proper operation Measuring temperature difference between supply and return Inspecting duct work for energy loss Monitoring compressor for proper amp draw, volt draw, and wiring connections He literally did nothing but a visual inspection for 5 minutes. When asked, he asks what else do you expect for $98 and accuses that we don't know anything about the A/C unit. After showing disappointment he offers that he will go ahead and refund the fee as it is backed by 100% satisfaction guarantee, but he neither sent the refund nor responds to any messages. Very unprofessional and unethical. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

This review is inaccurate and dishonest. It did not take four attempts to schedule the appointment. I was also there well over an hour to do the two clean and checks. I started the inspection in the basement on the the indoor sections of the air conditioner. [Member name] was the person who purchased the Big Deal and his wife was the person who was there when I performed the work. She did not speak very good English and was having trouble understanding what I was telling her. She was asking questions to try to understand how the furnace and air conditioner worked. I answered these as best as I could. Then she showed me some rust on the duct work in the basement and ask what she could do to reduce the humidity and remove the rust. I told her that the duct could be painted with galvanised paint and that a humidifier could be placed "stand alone" or installed on the furnace in the basement. She had trouble understanding this and ask the question three more times. I then said that I would write it out with my recommendations on the service ticket. We proceeded upstairs to the out door section of the air conditioners. I then checked the electrical. amp draw , voltage, system pressures ext. of the A/C tune up. These air conditioners were 12 years old and had freon leaks in them. I also recommended that the contactor's and capacitors be replace and that stop leak and freon get added to the systems. She also ask me what could be done to reduce the noise of the air conditioners because they sat out side of the bedroom. I told her they could be replace with a sound damping unit or moved to the back of the house. When I made my final recommendations and gave he pricing she became angry and said that the recommended work should be covered by the tune up price she payed. I explained that it was not, and ask her to read the details of the A/C tune up more closely. She became more persistent, so I ask her to call Angie's list to get it explained by them. That night her husband called me up and became argumentative and tried to get me to cover the cost of the repair. I advised him to call Angie's list to have the detail's of the deal explained to him. [Member name] spoke good English. I believe that he knew and understood the details of the Angie's list Tune up quite well and was trying to use the Angie's list grading system as leverage to fraudulently steal from my company. Bad Karma This behavior will not be tolerated. I have ask Angie's list to remove this customer to prevent further contractors from falling victim to this scam. In regard to my qualifications. I have an associates degree in HVAC from Rankan Tec. and have served service apprenticeships in the sheet metal workers, and pipe fitter unions.
