+ 1 moreTim the owner of Trinity Heating and Cooling arrived on time, cleaned the nasty dusty fireplace, made sure all connections were functional, explained how the product worked (how to turn on and keep track of fireplace), etc. Overall seemed knowledgeable and professional. Also checked furnace, even though we informed him that we have a maintenance agreement with another company, and asked questions about some other ventilation issues in our home. Based on knowledge and experience, would recommend Trinity Heating and Cooling to others who need qualified and experienced HVAC service.
Description of Work: Had not used gas fireplace for years and needed it cleaned and checked. Bought the "Big Deal" for the gas fireplace clean, check and tune-up, and furnace inspection.

+ -1 moreSince I had such a positive experience with Tim Ryan and Trinity on the cleaning of my fireplace I asked him to bid on a water heater replacement as well. Again Tim came through with a good price and great service. The water heater was installed and he made sure I understood how to relight the pilot light (if necessary) and answered other questions I had. Tim and his helper were tidy and made sure that the old water heater and misc. packaging from the new water heater were picked up by the hauler all in one day. I will definitely call on Tim again.

+ -1 moreHe said he was familiar with it when he came and definitely he wasn't because he did not know anything about any unit I had.They really didn't do anything. The reason why I placed an order was because I was having trouble with my humidifier on the furnace and the gentleman that came out was not able to fix it. And I ended up rehiring another company that a neighbor recommended and he found a problem with the wiring why the humidifier wasn't working. When I spoke to him on the phone I was having a problem with the humidifier, the furnace worked fine. He said well I can look at that when I come in, well he did and whatever he switched it didn't work when he left and a couple of days I ended up hiring somebody else. He wasn't familiar with the humidifier and he spent half the time on the phone talking to somebody who knew more about it than he did and whoever he spoke to didn't understand it either. He was friendly, he was fine and I didn't have a problem. He made the appointment, he showed up when he said he would and other than that he just didn't seem to be very knowledgeable with this particular humidifier.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal from Trinity Heating, Cooling, and Refrigeration LLC for a tune up type offer but I did tell him I did want someone to work on the humidifier.

+ -1 moreI bought the deal. No one called me for a week, so I contact Trinity. I get a voicemail, I leave a message on 12/08/13 still no call back. Finally, I'm in bed sleeping when the answer machine beeps a message at 8:00 p.m. when I play it back the next day it's Tim. I call and leave a message and no call back, frustrated, disappointed, this is the second Big Deal that hasn't worked out.

+ 0 moreI purchased the $49 gas fireplace cleaning, inspection and furnace inspection. I've lived in the house for 15 years and the fireplace had never been cleaned or inspected -- it was time! Tim was punctual, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. He cleaned and inspected the fireplace and suggested I replace a coupler (sp?) that should be replaced about every 5 years. Again after 15 years it was time. The coupler replacement was $75. He had to locate the part and it took 2 - 3 trips to different locations, on Manchester Rd. the day prior to Christmas Eve -- that is real service! He thought he would have to come back the next day but came back in the early evening to install the part all so I could be ready for my Christmas Eve party. That is REAL Service.

+ -1 moreThe provider had to reschedule an already set appointment, requiring me to leave work the next day to meet him for the new appointment. When he arrived, only thing received was an inspection when the Angie's List deal said inspection, cleaning, and servicing was all apart of the deal. When asked why, the service provider says he doesn't do the other things and that the Angie's List deal was supposed to be edited. It was not edited when we purchased the deal. The inspection was a waste of my time and wouldn't have been purchased if that was what was expected. While the service provider was there, he told me everything that was wrong so, I assume, he could sell me on the needed parts and services. The person was nice and professional and informative, but this deal did not match the description.

+ 0 moreMy old gas fireplace was not working. I thought it needed a thermo-couple but it needed more extensive work. Tim had to travel to a fireplace specialty store to buy the part and then returned to install the part. He is very knowledgeable and fair in his pricing. I would definitely call him again.

They were knowledgeable, professional, and the price quoted for finishing the 2nd unit was better than expected! We will be using them when we can afford to have the 2nd HVAC completed.

+ -1 moreScheduling was easy, I picked dates online and he called me to let me know the times he had available. The service turned out fine. He came out on a Friday late in the evening around 5:30. He was supposed to arrive between 2-4, it worked out fine because I was home with a sick child. I did not really understand what he accomplished while he was here or what the 20 point check included. I wish he would of explained what he saw and what we need to worry about. He did do a good job at teaching me how to clean our electric air cleaner.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $49 for a 20-Point Furnace Tune-Up. I spent additional money to have him do a tune up on our second furnace.

+ -1 moreHe also installed a humidifier to the second floor furnace. Tim was able to give us 96% efficient gas Heil furnaces that will work with our existing air conditioners. He was professional and knowledgeable throughout the process. He explained how the duct work would be the most efficient with our home and we are happy with the system and would recommend Tim and Trinity to anyone replacing a HVAC system or part of a system.

However, after contact, he readily made himself available for the job. He showed up on time and was courteous and efficient. He was very very patient with all of my questions. He was very helpful also in explaining the workings of humidifiers. We will have him back for any future work needed.

+ -1 moreTim came out promptly to replace a pilot gas valve on our furnace. He arrived on time and got right to work. He explained what he was doing and educated me on the workings of a gas furnace as he worked. He is a very personable and knowledgeable person. He worked quickly and had the furnace up and running within an hour. He made sure to check all the pipe fittings from the main gas valve all the way to the furnace and water heater for leaks. He only worked on the ones near the furnace but checked about 30 feet worth of pipe to make sure we didn't have any leaks in the system. The labor cost was under $100 and included his trip charge and the time to replace the valve. I could not be happier. He did a great job and was pleasant to deal with through the entire repair. I will continue to use Tim for all of our HVAC needs. I highly recommend him and will recommend him to everyone.

He tested the system and explained the operation of the various components in detail. I have never experienced such a great concern for customer satisfaction.

+ -1 moreTim still hasn?t refunded the cost of this service call like he promised. The company that installed the furnace sent a technician to perform proper maintenance and confirmed that Tim did very little that was good and several things that were bad. He removed but did not replace a wire cap on the control panel, leaving wires exposed. He did not mention that the condensation pipe had been dripping and there was rust on a pipe and the fan motor; nor did he investigate why this had occurred. He unplugged the humidifier when he was checking the filter, so it wasn't working at all after he left - and it DID need a new filter now. I have no confidence in the quality of the work of this company and would not hire them again nor recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List for annual furnace maintenance. Tim Ryan called within 48 hours to schedule the service. We agreed on a date and time 4 weeks away, October 18. I called during the service window on the scheduled day to see when Tim might arrive and he told me I was not on his schedule. He said we could reschedule and he would do the work at no cost to me or he could just refund my money. We rescheduled and Tim arrived at the new time on October 21. He asked me to turn on the thermostat so the furnace would run. He removed the furnace panels and looked around. I believe he cleaned a wire. He implied that he was trying to clean the sensor too, but he said it was hard to reach. I don't know if he cleaned it or just gave up. He recommended replacing the capacitors every 6 years and quoted me a price. He basically didn’t do much. I thought he would at least come in with a shop vacuum and clean the unit, but it was left very dusty. I asked if the humidifier was working and if it needed a new filter. He told me he could not find a switch for the humidifier and maybe it was controlled by the thermostat. He told me I did not need a new humidifier filter until next year.

+ -1 moreI couldn't have been more impressed. Trinity came out on a Sunday to look at my AC that wasn't working. They got here quickly. When they arrived I fully expected this to cost me a huge amount. I mean come on, it's Sunday and Labor Day weekend and my older than dirt AC unit quits working. Yeah. Break out the credit card! Not in this case. They took my AC apart, cleaned it and told me what they thought the problem was. After a few minutes of looking at the machine further they told me that I wouldn't even need a certain part that we thought would need replacing. This highly impressed me. They could have easily replaced this part as well and I wouldn't have known if I needed it or not. $180 later I was up and running better than ever! I can't stress how highly I recommend trinity. I will definitely use them again!
