Slyman Bros Appliances

Each time we have made a purchase from Slyman, we have received great customer service--at the time of purchase and by phone answering questions. The delivery people have been excellent, sometimes having to move the appliance into or through a less than ideal space. We have been very pleased with Slyman.

The gentleman I dealt with was the owner. He was very friendly and helpful. Worked with me to set up a delivery time as the destination was a rental property I own that was on the second floor. The experience was much more delightful then the other two I had earlier in the day at large national retail stores. I like working with the small local business companies. They put more pride in thier service. The only issue was when the delivery guys installed the frig, they had the door handle on the wrong side. They said it couldn't be put on the other side as the door would open into a wall. I agreed and left it at that. I have since switched the handles, and it works fine. Not a big enough issue to lower the grade on this pleasant experience.

We had to get a new washer and dryer for our new house. We new exactly what we wanted from researching and went to Lowes first. Then went here to see if they also had it available. They were actually cheaper and could get it sooner than Lowes even with the new movers coupon. They had it delivered and installed perfectly. We were so pleased we came back and ordered a dishwasher.

I've used them before, there were no hiccups, no problems, the price was right and everything went well.

Flawless service, an enormous change from the whole big-box experience. Our washing machine was broken and we needed one asap. They had already in stock the models that Consumer Reports had identified as best buys, and they could deliver it within two days---would have been next day if I hadn't called late in the day. I had expected to pay more for local service, and in a rush at that, but to my pleasant surprise the price they quoted me was much lower than the big box folks (it was even slightly lower than the price Sears has during big promotions). A nice thing is that they don't nickel-and-dime you, as their price was all-inclusive, i.e., delivery, installation, hoses or other accessories, and haul-away. Friendly delivery, and they even did me a favor by putting my old machine in the basement instead of hauling it to their truck. Overall, a great experience and I will be going back.

Visited the Manchester retail store on Saturday. The salesman was professional and knowledgeable. He helped us to select the appropriate washer and dryer for our needs. This ended up being a model we had already looked at at another big box store. They were willing to beat the price of this other store. Delivery was the following Monday. The delivery staff called me at work when they were about 20 minutes away so that I could leave work and meet them for the delivery and installation. Everything went smoothly.

Both deliverymen were very polite and punctual.

I went to their store to look for a double wall oven. Their prices were on par with others and they had the one that I had decided upon. While the salesman went to check stock & delivery, I was looking at one that was $2000 more. One of the owners saw me looking at it and asked me if I liked that one and I said yes. He told me that they had just finished a home show and had one that had been used as a demo unit (to bake chocolate chip cookies) and that he'd sell it to me for a discount. I asked how much, he gave me a price, and that's the one I purchased. They delivered and installed the ovens, and everything went without a hitch. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable, very professional and did a great job. The model is excellent and in all of these years I did not have any problems with it.

They were just great. They said when they were going to deliver it and were very punctual. They gave me all the information I asked for.

We should have purchased appliances elsewhere. We were relying on good ratings from Angies List.

I chose the shop from Angie's List recommendations, picked out the dishwasher in Consumer's Report, went, ordered it, scheduled delivery, it was delivered on time. It works perfectly. Very pleased.

I got references from several people. They have good people that work there and they were timely. When the first one they were supposed to put in didn't work they immediately got the other one and put it in. They were pleasant. I'd tell others to know what kind of stove they need better than I did. Now I've learned something.

Professional and non-pushy from start to finish. We wanted to buy from a local, family owned business. Refrigerator purchased on a Friday; delivered & installed on Monday; old refrigerator hauled away.

Great experience! After ordering several appliances from a major retailer, and having multiple delays, missed delivery dates, notifications of delays after the due date had already passed, etc. I turned to Slyman Brothers. Friendly, knowledgeable, and were able to match or beat the big guy in price and deliver everything within a week. Don't be fooled , bigger does not necessarily mean better or cheaper. These guys are great. I am picky and don't give out praise unless deserved, but I am so pleased to be able to return the favor to someone that did a good and is LOCAL!!

We were very happy with them. I thought that their prices were good and they were professional. Whoever came into the house for installation were very professional.

I have only gone to the Slyman Brothers on Hampton, but they are all related. I currently have a range, refrigerator and a dryer from them and their prices and customer service can not be beat. If you have a problem, they will fix it with no questions asked. They will go above and beyond whatever they have to to make you a happy customer. Trust me when I say that I will never buy an appliance from a big box or department store again.

Everything went well. The machine was fairly priced, and there were no problems at all.

The experience was very positive all the way through. I made the purchase, all items were in stock, and they were delivered and installed within a couple of days. The were prompt and professional. I would use them again in the future.

It's a small store so most of their product is from a catalog. The prices are not much different than other stores but the service and delivery was very good. Delivery was as promised and it was done efficiently with the old unit being removed and the new unit installed.

They delivered the product right away and installed it. They took the old one away and were ten dollars cheaper than the one we saw at Best Buy

I spent about $800. It was definitely a good deal. They are really great. They are really good about customer service. I will use this company again in the future.

I haven't taken delivery yet of my appliances, but I'm happy with the customer service and pricing thus far.

I had done extensive research on brands and models and had almost decided to go with the Samsung models at Lowe's, but at the last minute someone at work mentioned they'd used Slyman with good results. I called and spoke with Nick at Slyman's to check availability and prices. He was helpful and fast, and they were within $10 of Lowe's on both appliances, so I decided to give this local company my business. Nick agreed to order both appliances with a down payment and hold them until I was ready to take delivery, so I ran up to the Manchester/Ellisville location and wrote a check. Well, they placed the order, but never called me when the appliances were in. To be fair, that could have been because I said I didn't know exactly when we would be ready to take delivery, but I did expect at least a "we have them now" phone call. It wasn't a problem, and I finally called and set up delivery, which went off without a hitch. They have two young brothers who do their delivery. These guys installed the refrigerator, and they were excellent. For a little extra, they even moved my old refrigerator down to the basement. I really appreciated that! The company has a definite "family-owned" feel - very casual, but knowledgeable about the products. Overall, I was pleased with this company, and would use them again. Before purchasing, I asked Nick about the reliability of the Samsungs, and he said it was good, and that they employed their own "Samsung certified" repair people in case I ever needed any work done. That helped me decide to go with both Samsung and Slyman's.

Excellent service at the best available price! Knew what we wanted after checking Consumer Reports Magazine. Called Slyman and they had them in stock. Scheduled delivery in two days (could have been next day). They came in, took out old washer and efficiently and skillfully installed new washer and pedestal, making sure all worked well. They were very neat and very careful with the rest of the house. Price was the lowest I found, equal to Lowe's with one exception. With Lowe's I would have had to pay the delivery fee and then get it rebated back to me. Slyman's was free to begin with, saving me a hassle and I could support a family-owned local store versus a big box.
