It was all very organized and professional. We like the fact they take care of all principals involved with one point of contact. The cost is a premium but they take care of absolutely everything and we knew it would turn out well. It was worth it and customer satisfaction was a high priority. They pay attention to all details and made sure to involve us with all decisions needed to be made in the field such as location of towel bars, toilet paper holders, etc. We couldn't be happier!

I have owned 5 homes in my life, and have had 12 major upgrades and remodeling projects contracted out to remodeling companies. All but those done in other states. Two days ago we noticed one of our ToTo toilets flapper was not seating properly. I could not find the part at my local independent plumber so, I called Callier. Even though the remodeling of the bathrooms was 2 years ago Callier and Thompson. What happened was a pleasant surprise. The work done by C&T was promptly and the men were fastidious. The work done by Callier was and still is unbelievably professional and completed totally without any hassle and to my satisfaction! 6 months after the job an issue arose that would take a master plumber to fix. I called Dave Thompson, and the problem was resolved at no cost to me, although a plumber and his assistant worked in an difficult small space for 6 hours. C&T's servicemen resolved the problem totally. Two days ago one of our Toto brand toilets flapper would not seat properly, I called Callier and Thompson and was called back shortly . I was told a service man would get with the Toto representative to diagnose the problem. Net Net, Callier just left at 08:30 a.m., having fixed the issue at no charge to me. I was shocked since I knew that normal warranties were expired, but Callier wants to ensure that their clients are happy with their work. I am not a builder or remodeler, nor did I have to be. The professional expertise and service from C&T proved that they were professional and totally worry free. Am I happy with Callier and Thompson? No, I am shocked, just thrilled that a remodeler would have such high standards, and a sincere desire to keep their clients happy. Would I use and recommend Callier? You Bet! Bathrooms are all I had wanted/hoped them to be - simple yet elegant and timeless. From the moment I met Christine Duenke O'Sullivan at Callier and Thompson through the design process and selection of material I was 'hooked.' Christine is the consummate professional designer - making certain that my selections reflected my personal tastes and likes rather than hers. Christine was dogged in spending time gathering several different samples - especially vanity choices and colors as well as quartz countertops - to work with the tiles I chose for both baths. She truly went above-and-beyond from start-to-finish! I also appreciated the personal phone calls from Gary Callier both promising the quality of workmanship to rate an A from me on Angie's List as well as do all he could to provide me the best pricing for the costly materials, especially the tile(!), which I chose. I never felt that I had to 'compromise' my choices especially as Christine and Gary worked with me to ensure that I received the best pricing possible material-wise. The labor was expensive but no more than the other three companies from which I received quotes. It should be noted that my husband and I were 800 miles away (out of state) during the entire renovation process so we had no clue as to how things were going once the work was underway. But we were always kept in the loop; Christine was great about calling me with questions and emailing me photos so I could see how things were progressing. All the work on both baths - with the exception of my final 'punch list' (see below) - was completed within the 6 week time frame initially estimated. We returned home to completed ready-to-use bathrooms. Before signing off on the remaining paperwork and paying the balance due, we were asked to provide a list of any areas 'of concern' we had. Our list was short and included a shower door that had a very slight mar (door was replaced), scratched edging on beadboard wainscot (ingenious solution), some missed area of painting and calking (completed), hardware installation (Rick preferred that I be present to point out exact locations for toilet paper holders, towel bars, vanity hardware and was incredibly patient as I decided!), removing 'haze' from newly grouted foyer area and a few other small details that needed attention. The immediate response by the Callier and Thompson team to make all 'right' was so appreciated by me!! Bottom line - I L.O.V.E. my new baths. (P.S. IF/When the time comes that we redo our kitchen, my immediate go-to will be Callier and Thompson!!)
Description of Work: Gutted two full bathrooms and installed new baths from start-to-finish. Also re-grouted front foyer/hallway of home.

Our interactions with our consultant Carolyn Beard was one of the reasons we decided to go with Callier and Thompson. We took our time in the planning stages (over 6-months) because we wanted it to look just so . Carolyn was very professional and patient with us and never tried to rush us into any decision just to keep things moving along. For example, we were struggling with the bar area remodel so that it would smoothly transition from the new kitchen into the family room. We had several ideas but none of our ideas really were exactly what we wanted. Carolyn made a suggestion one day during one of our many discussions about this area that proved to be exactly what we were looking for and actual sealed-the-deal for us. Two words accurately describe the actual construction phase of the project... very professional. The work began on time and took exactly the scheduled six weeks to complete. Moreover, the trades made substantial efforts to maintain a clean working environment and to clean up the job site at the end of the day. Rick was our head carpenter and both my wife and I were very pleased with both his work and attitude. In fact, by the end of the construction, we started to feel like Rick was part of the family. There were several minor changes made during construction and Rick and his crew were very accommodating in making these changes without any fuss. Overall we are very happy with the work Callier and Thompson did. I would not hesitate to recommend Callier and Thompson or to use them again in the future.

The salesperson was less than stellar. I ended up talking with the brothers who own the company, and they were very responsive and fixed all of the issues that I had to my complete situation. The salesman failed to notice in a 40 year old home what evidently was poor quality work in the original build. As a result, one toilet sucked the water out of the other. Gary Collier, one of the owners came out with a seasoned professional plumber who spotted the problem. As I am typing this note, the seasoned plumber and his apprentice are finishing the job. Their work was professional and spot on. This is the third job Callier has done for us. I have no problem recommending them for their quality, professionalism and desire to satisfy the client. You cannot ask for a better design team and contractor.

Cand T started the week after Thanksgiving. Before starting, they covered the bedroom carpet, stairs, and hallway with plastic. The first day, they had pretty much gutted the room. They made sure I knew when they were leaving for the day, when they could expected the next day and asked if I had any questions. Cand T workman were excellent and very nice. Whenever I had questions or problems, they listened and took care of any problems I had. We had several mishaps ( a cut water pipe) but these problems were handled to our satisfaction. This routine was followed until Dec 23, when a piece was misscut and had to be reordered. I was told it would probably not be in until after January 1. This was correct but between that time, the painter came. I think in the second week of January, everything was finally completed. I would and have recommended Callier and Thompson. we were very satisfied with the results and the quality of service.

We were very disappointed by the overall workmanship of this company. We had used them 10 years ago to remodel the kitchen with no issues but this time we were disappointed by the work. We bought a new tub and they added a water jet control to the foot of the tub rather than within reach when sitting in the tub. The hole to move the control had to be removed and patched. They sent out a company to repair the tub but rushed the job and added plumbing before the surface was ready and ended up cracking the tub when they added the faucets and handles for the tub. We had to call them back out to again repair the crack. When the plumbing was added for the tub they cut away the tub supports to make room for the plumbing - they did not fix this - they covered it up with the onyx that surrounded the tub instead. They told me that the supprt for the tub was placed underneath the tub - but we could see allthe way to the other wall with no support being added. They sent out one guy to do the work when clearly carrying the tub, bathroom cabinet fixtures, etc. would take 2 people. My husband actually helped the contractor with carrying the stuff in the house. We priced the fixtures, tub, toilet and Onyx shower with another company and found that the mark up was twice the cost of what we would have paid if we would have picked it out at another company - they matched some of the prices when we brought it to their attention. Their explantaion on this was that if they weren't installing it the fixtures they would have charged us less. The doorways that they put in were split and then repaired with wood putty- they weren't a very high quality product and required us to add more wood putty and then sand them ourselves to get a smooth finish. We also have plaster walls and the finish that they leftwqas just flat drywall. They suggested that we add sand to the paint to try and match our other walls as a solution. The onyx around the tub is not level where the corners come together - their explanation was that in an older home they can't promise that this would be level. The drywall around the inside of the window was poorly done- really noticeable after we painted it.

It troubles us to know that a customer is disappointed with any part of their experience or work completed by our company. We have been a family-run business for nearly 60 years and our main goal is 100% customer satisfaction with our people, product and workmanship. With decades of experience and hiring only the finest licensed professionals, we do our best to anticipate and correct errors or customer complaints. However, the remodeling process always includes surprises and changes mid-project, and it is our job to respond to those surprises in the manner that our professional knowledge and experience deem best practice. On this particular project, we feel that all issues were corrected by our professionals to the best of our ability and we truly regret that the client is unhappy. In regards to the client comparing our pricing with another company, the client selected several products we do not usually carry, thus making our pricing less competitive than the company that stocks the products they requested. As the client stated, were able to match the pricing for them. At Callier & Thompson, we truly strive to conduct and complete every job as we would in our own homes. Quality and customer satisfaction is a priority and we are saddened that the customer does not feel that we lived up to our standards.

For the service we got, I think the price was reasonable. They do very good work. They stand behind their work. That's the reason we went with them in the first place. They make sure that if there's something you don't like, they try to help you with that. They keep you informed through the project about what's going on. You always have someone to call if you have any questions. They have good open communication with you. With each project we've had done, there's been a different group of people that they've sent out. They usually have a person representing Callier and Thompson there who does demolishing, puts things in, and that sort of thing. They have workers who come who do specialty work such as tile, electrical, etc. Overall, everything goes well.
Description of Work: We've used Callier & Thompson Kitchens several times. The most recent one was in the fall of 2012 when they remodeled our guest bathroom. We also used them the previous year. They did our kitchen first about eight years ago.

We are now on our third call back. They are responsive, but this is nonsense that should never have been left for me to discover. Missing kickboard on a custom cabinet. Trash pick up guy was a no show Now the P trap under the sink is leaking. We are also waiting on the "custom" mirror that we had to call and remind the guy to come measure. Two subcontractors the mirror guy and the trash guy were not punctual. The salesman and the installers were right on time. The salesman was top notch in resolving issues once I told him about them. Once again, the issue is thoroughness and quality control. They do a good job overall, but they are not cheap, and to be honest I should not have to act as the foreman to ensure the work was done right the first time. Premium price should mean all of this nonsense should have been handled by the workmen before they left, not me.

Callier Thompson Shea did a remodel/addition on our home. This was our third major remodel and third contractor since we purchased the home and they stood above the rest. They were courteous to our lives (yes the homeowner still has daily lives during a remodel process), always punctual, stayed on schedule and the best part of all they did a thourough cleaning of our home once the remodel was complete. John Shea was very communicative throughout the whole process. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: Things started out fine with Christine. Mike needed to take over since she had a family matter to take care of. It got very confusing with 2 different designers with different opinions. The price came in very high. This was the first company I had checked out and was really new at all of the kitchen design that went into it all. I ended up finding a company that did the exact Shiloh cabinets I was looking at Callier and almost the same design for much much less money. The cabinets are installed and look beautiful from the other company.

The total job took over 6+ weeks...we were told it shouldn't take more than a few weeks to complete. I felt like we were a low priority. Only after two years the work they had done is already showing signs of poor workmanship. Overall the attention to detail was not there, especially for $25k. We were really excited to use them and had heard good things about them. In the end we should have done more due diligence.

Two bathrooms of this scale could not be completed professionally in three weeks. This was a projected four-week project that we completed in five weeks. Some of the delay was likely a result of the customer providing some of their own labor. Both bathrooms were functional by the fifth week. We have no record of any concerns with workmanship prior to this review on Angie’s List. We ALWAYS want to know if a client is unhappy with any of our products or our work. We stand by our product and believe it is our job to ensure customers are satisfied with their remodel for many years to come. We are quick to respond to any issues and do what we can to make every client happy and/or remedy said issues. Our door is always open.

We are glad that you had a good experience working with our company and that you plan to work with us again in the future. It is very important to us that our pricing is competitive. We work closely with our suppliers to get the best possible pricing and pass as much savings on to our clients.
It was fantastic. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They were easy to work with and I can’t say enough good things about them. I have recommended them to a lot of people. They worked within the budget. Although the job was very expensive, he explained how we would go about everything I wanted done in there. He did a wish list and everything I wanted in my kitchen I told him, and then they priced it out. When I saw the price I said oh my gosh and he said we would go from there and asked what I could live without. It was a great way to do it because you just take off all the things you don’t have to have. The job was completed in the time frame that they said. They cleaned up every single day after themselves. The carpenter, Kurt that worked on the job was terrific; they were all good but the carpenter really stands out. I completely trusted them, you can leave the house. They have a lockbox on the door so they can come and do their job. If I had to leave or go to work I didn’t have to be there. They didn’t make the cabinets you have to order them. They sell two different brands of cabinets, however in inside of each of those brands there are many colors and selections. I picked all this off of small pieces of wood. Some people say that they want to have their kitchen done and they ask how much I spent. One thing about the price is yes it is expensive, however, they ask you what you want to spend and I gave him a figure of what I wanted to spend. They removed a powder room and created a bar area where that used to be. There was a ton of work that they did. They couldn’t do what I wanted to do for the price I gave them. I knew how much I could spend and told them I couldn’t go over that and they stayed right at it. It was perfect and really worked out great. They will work with your budge and stay. There were certain details on cabinet drawers all these extended drawers where you pull them out and you cap them where they will close by themselves. That is all nice, but I have lived my whole life without that, and didn’t have to have it. I preferred to spend the money on the extra trim and some of the extra type things in the cabinet that are for me.
Description of Work: They remodeled my kitchen. The kitchen was literally gutted. They put in a new floor, cabinets, counter tops, lighting, pluming, installed new appliance; everything. The floor used to be parquet and is now porcelain tile.

The person that helped design the kitchen also inspected the work every day to ensure it was done right. He's always on time. They were very punctual and got the job done right away. There was a small problem with measuring, but it was resolved quickly. Also, there was a short delay in delivery of some of the wooden items, but nothing major.
Description of Work: They completely remodeled our kitchen. They installed new cabinets, all new appliances (garbage disposals, microwave, flat-top range), they encased my refrigerator doors in wood, they also put in a built in china cabinet, a desk, and a shelf. They took down a wall. They finished a bay window for me. Installed two separate sink bowls, the kind that will not overflow. All of the appliances are Kitchen Aid. They put all new lights on the ceiling, finished wood covering with 4 ft. fluorescent bulbs. I had the tile behind the stove replaced and put in flat corian. They built in spice racks into the cabinets and put them on rollers so I did not have to reach into them too far. The cabinets are built all the way up to the ceiling. They had a subcontractor come in and install stone flooring in the kitchen, entry way and hallway. The also subcontracted electrical work.

Sales rep ordering the door didn't tell us there was more than one finish in the color we needed. The one we received is glossy instead of matte and doesn't match our existing appliances. When we reported the difference, he said we would have to order another door handle for an extra $100. I feel he should have told us there was more to check on than just the color. The installer left a raw edge in the drywall around the perimeter of the drawer which we had to finish ourselves. We also had to repair a tear in the drywall that he did when removing the oven/microwave to get to the electrical wiring for the warming drawer.
Description of Work: Installed a KitchenAid warming drawer in our kitchen.

We sincerely regret that you had a negative experience with our company. Open communication is very important during the remodeling process and we encourage our clients to share the good, the bad and the ugly, so we know their opinion at during stage of the process. We solve problems when we are made aware of them. We don’t just want our clients to be satisfied; we want them to be thrilled by their experience with us. When that is not the case, it’s very important to our business that we are made aware of it as soon as possible, so we can correct the dissatisfaction immediately.

Collier and Thompson Kitchens gets an A+ from me. They stand behind their products and their work. They are experts in kitchen and bathroom design. They knew exactly what to do for me and they were prompt and efficient. I can't remember what I paid them, but I know it was a fair price.
Description of Work: They designed my kitchen and sold me a refrigerator and dishwasher.

Company did not provide a calendar of work to be performed until 2 weeks into the job. Company was 2 weeks behind due to contractor errors, not unanticipated issues. Mismeasurement of cabinets and pantry delayed work and progress. Wrong size cabinets ordered. Final plans did not include measurements on important work to be completed, leading to misunderstandings. The frustration of working with this company far outweighed the results of the beautiful kitchen.

Remodeling is a very complex process in which issues are bound to arise. As a business with nearly 60 years experience, it is our job to solve those issues and ensure that the final result is exactly what the client wanted. We are very sorry to hear that you had some negativities occur during your remodel and that the process did not go as smoothly as you hoped. However, we are glad to know that you’re kitchen is beautiful and that you gave us an ‘A’ for quality. We hope that over time, the beauty and quality of your kitchen outweigh the delays you encountered during the process.

This would have been a good experience if it hadn't been for the new tile in the shower, that had to be torn out and reinstalled. This, and a few other things turned this two or three week project into one that lasted a couple of months. The nice thing is that the company bent over backwards to make us happy with the finished product, which is rare nowadays.
Description of Work: They did an in-place total remodel of master bedroom bath. Also, they guided us through the design process before hand.

Callier Thompson has a beautiful showroom with a lot of ideas. There was no charge to meet with their builders representative, and also no charge for his plans (which the architect would have charged by the hour for). He was very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of each cabinet line. Our cabinets came in earlier than we thought they would, and although some were damaged, they quickly replaced them. Any problems have been dealt with very promptly. We also bought all of our kitchen appliances here, and they coordinated the installation with the cabinets. This is the 2nd time we have remodeled using this company working with the same representative each time.
Description of Work: Callier Thompson supplied the cabinets for our addition of a new kitchen and bathroom. One of their kitchen designers helped us plan the layout of the new kitchen.

PROJECT TOOK A LONG TIME. POSITIVE THINGS ARE: HIGH QUALITY CABINETRY, FLOORING, FIXTURES,PLUMBING (TOILETS), VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS SUBCONTRACTORS. DISAPPOINTING THINGS INCLUDE: JOB TOOK A LONG TIME FOR THE WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED DUE TO THE FACT THAT Cand T USES SUBS FOR EVERYTHING AND YOU ARE AT THE MERCY OF THEIR SCHEDULES AND MULTIPLE JOBS. PROJECT MANAGEMENT WAS MARGINAL. OBVIOUS FLAWS BECAME APPARENT WHEN THE FLOW WAS LAID AND THE SHOWER WAS INSTALLED AND NO ONE BROUGHT THIS TO MY ATTENTION (WALLS WEREN'T PERPENDICULAR TO ONE ANOTHER SO IT APPEARS AS IF THE FLOOR AND SHOWER ARE CROOKED). WHEN I QUESTIONED Cand T ABOUT THIS, THEY EXPLAINED IT WASN'T THEIR JOB TO MAKE SURE THE WALLS WERE IN LINE- FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, IF IT ISN'T THEIR JOB, WHO'S IS IT? JOB COMPLETION: FOR THE THINGS THAT I HAD EXPRESSED SOME DISSATISFACTION WITH, THERE ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE AN EXCUSE.
Description of Work: REMODEL OF MASTER BATHROOM. NEW CABINETS, NEW HEATED FLOOR, NEW SHOWER, NEW FIXTURES, NEW PLUMBING.
