They were very professional and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after they did the carpet for instance they moped the residue on my hardwood floors.

They arrive 30 minutes late without a call notifying us that they would be late. The owner ( supposedly) and helper came in and did not apologized for being late nor did they introduce themselves. I asked if the person who was the lead was Richard the owner and was told "yes I am Richard". There was no greeting - business card offered or anything. The owner was unshaven and his company logo shirt was hanging out. His appearance was unprofessional. The helper appeared more professional but did not act professionally. While the owner and I walked the house the helper began setting up the equipment. There was an assumption They were doing the entire home and both parties acted as if this was the case. The owner walked the house ( I had to ask him to get and wear booties over his boots) and inspected the furnaces and took pictures and told me to clean then though they were in "pretty good shape" and that he "sees much worse" would be $300 per unit. This cost is in line with a licenses HVAC contractor or even more. Let me also note that they left dust foot prints every where they walked without booties. We had just mopped all the floors in the house the previous day and had to do them again upon their departure. After walking the house we came back to the first floor (we have a large home) and the helper had there equipment in the house. When I called to set the appointment I explained to the owner that I have a health condition and my daughter severe allergies that would prohibit them from running the vac inside the house. I was told this would not present a problem since they have plenty of hose and the machine is exteamly strong (at one point they showed me how strong while they were doing the work). In order to cover the home and have the vac outside they needed to connect two hoses. The did not have the proper connectors and had to "tape" two hoses together. I told them I was very concerned about any debris, dust or dirt escaping into the house. The owner was very dismissive of my concern and insisted the hoses could be safely taped together. I did look at the manner they connected them and it appeared reasonably safe but they could have moved the vacume machine and not had to do this thus insuring no possible leakage. Having hired other companies in the past on many occasions (we remodel homes and have to clean up after), I can confidently say their equipment is not up to professional standard. Most companies use high powered truck mounted machines. The owner connected the bush and line to a drill and they used their portable vac. Imagine a brush being snaked down a supply line and a separate vacuumed hose being snaked down also. Good companies use equipment that is tied together as one implement to assure that the dust, dirt and debris is fully captured. Given their equipment I did not feel confident that they could fully contain the collection of what was inside our duct work. We had purchased a Groupon and so the cost was contained. In my opinion this company is a poor choice for anyone looking for a well run professional duct cleaning firm. The lack of professional conduct and appearance does matter. There is a reason clean uniforms are worn, introductions are made and booties are routinely worn. The actions of the technicians say "we care" about and "we respect" you and your home. Good professional and complete equipment is not optional. Writing this I regret that I did not just send them packing. Not wanting to be rude or unkind I allowed these guys to do some work in my home. I would encourage other members to find a good professional company and skip calling Breath Rite.

"Thanks so much for taking time to review our company Member, but you were not there when I was there to clean. I Richard Moore am the owner and I dealt with your husband. We did not arrive late as when we book we allow a two to three hour slide time for instance we say 11-1 that means we will be there between 11 and one your schedule was 9-11 I was at your house by , so we so I did not apologize for being late because we not late. When I show up at a house and someone opens the door (in your case I’m guessing your husband) I always say Hi I’m Richard from Breathe Rite and if I didn’t you would not have been able to ask if I was Richard as you state later in your review. As far as my appearance, I am always shaven, I have a goatee and a partial beard but I keep them trimmed daily. My shirt was hanging out on purpose I do not tuck it in. I move and climb all day I need the shirt to be able to move and adjust with me. And unfortunately epically during these 100+ degree days yes the uniforms may take wear. We clean dirt out of ducts all day. There was no assumption that we were going to do the entire home; when we come in we always set up. With the deal you purchased I always do a full system inspection, not assuming that I’m going to clean it but to let you know what shape your system was in. If I failed to do the inspection I guess you would have complained about that too since it was part of the package you purchased. And just like you said when I did your inspection I advised you of the parts that did not need to be cleaned so I was very honest. I apologize for not putting booties on without your request. We don’t wear them unless requested their were other contractors there and they were not wearing booties, If I would have seen them wearing booties you would not have had to request them. After requested we put them on immediately as I always have them. As far as leaving dust foot prints everywhere I wore booties as you requested and we removed a lot of dust from you system. Plus you had contractors all over your house and they were not wearing booties, while floors were missing and construction going on and since I was wearing booties and the footprints were from someone not wearing them I am going to assume it wasn’t me. I’m not sure what you are talking about with the cost being in lined with a licensed HVAC person…I didn’t bid to clean your unit the parts that an HVAC system person would clean because like I told you before they didn’t need to be cleaned. If you look at your estimate or the invoice I provided you I didn’t quote a price on the unit that is why we provide the invoices and have you sign them. The equipment we use is top of the line we choose not to use truck mounted machines for many reasons. One you have to leave the doors to the house open and two we are more portable and able to clean other places like business inside malls that you can’t pull a truck up to. If we would have used the kind of hose with the brush inside it wouldn’t have sucked up the big debris they would have clogged. I chose the method that I felt in my professional opinion would have done the best job for you. I have cleaned for 10 years and worked for several air duct companies large and small…NONE of them used truck mounted systems for the reasons above. If you do your research no one is better than the other it is personal preference. And no you did not send us packing in fact you paid for additional work to be completed. I would have been more than happy to address any of these issues either with you Member who was the on present. Unfortunately, you did not call me. Richard was on time, explained everything that needed to be done, showed me the problem areas and explained everything exactly. He made some suggestions but did not pressure me to buy anything.

They were timely, and I appreciated the full disclosure of cost ONCE they arrived. I had purchased a groupon and did not anticipate how much the actual cleaning would cost on top of the groupon. They said they had to make 'entry ports' in to my mains which is an addtional one time fee per entry (I needed two), plus there were more vents and an extra return. They were clean and spent several hours here, I assume getting the job right! They also do carpets, and I would truly consider using them. I just want a more honest estimate upfront!

We can't really list cost because we don't know what we are walking into, if the system has been cleaned before. We don’t know if the previous owner cleaned the system or how dirty the system really is. Most of the time, our customers don’t know the answers either, that is why they call us. Richard, arrived on time, was very professional and courteous. He and his co-worker stayed until all vents, furnaces and ducts were cleaned. It actually took about 10 hours, but we have a large home and they worked hard the entire time. He told me what it would cost before they started and he kept to it. Also a few of our clients weren't blowing air when got hot outside. I called Richard and he came out the next day to open a closed damper. I was very pleased with their service
