Dave was very prompt to give an estimate to remove our front sidewalk and asphalt driveway and parking pad. His bid was the lowest of the four estimates we received. However, one glitch was that he had not mentioned in the proposal that we needed to get a permit from the city. So he got the permit himself on the day they started, and added the extra $171 onto our bill. I was surprised, but the final bill was still lower than the other estimates we received. His crew carefully marked the water sprinkler heads to avoid damaging them, and they did an excellent job on the concrete work. It looks great.

We contracted with M.F. Fleischhacker back in March for a new garage floor. When June rolled around, and we still had not been contacted, we called them. There was mis-communication about sending back the contract. The owner told us that he would only be able to give us 24 hours notice when he would start. We were quite upset about this since our garage is very full. We did start moving things out though, so when the call came, we were ready to go. They took out our old garage floor the first day, and finished the new concrete the second day. They were efficient, and even pointed out problems with our foundation in the garage. They were able to fix those as well. I was a little disturbed by the fact that one of the employees was using my backyard as a restroom. I told him he could come in to use the bathroom, but he said it was easier to just go in the backyard.

I would hire this company again in the future.

We did not use this company because the price was so much higher for this work than the company we chose. Dave provided a very detailed estimate and was extremely professional. His proposed scope was more extensive than others, and his price was much higher. He understood concrete very well, but we just couldn't go with him for the price. I would call him for an estimate for another project in the future.

I am extremely satisfied with MF Fleischhacker. From the initial estimate, it was clear that Dave knew his trade well. He made several observations and suggestions that none of the other companies we received estimates from had thought of. He kept me informed of when the work would be performed and was very flexible working with us and a decking contractor to pour footings for a new deck. We had multiple changes throughout the process and Dave was very accommodating to each and every one of them. Based on some conversations with his crew, I believe Dave is a bit of a perfectionist, but that served us well because it meant we ended up with a beautiful finished project. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend MF Fleischhacker to anyone and would certainly use them again in the future should I need additional work.

David came out and examined our problem and thought a lot about the best way to solve it. He designed an estimate and plan while we waited and thoroughly explained why he was doing what he was doing. His estimate was slightly higher than other estimates but we went with this unit because we could tell they knew what they were doing. One thing I appreciated is that he didn't give us a cost estimate on the foundation repair until he saw the full damage. Some may differ with that idea but I appreciated the honesty. David said it would take about a month for them to do the work but called in two weeks and said they were willing to do the work the next day. The crew came out, tore up the old sidewalk and took away the stuff immediately. He also gave us some black dirt (at no cost) to help fill in the gaps that were created from the work. He said he was going to haul it to the fill anyway. The crew worked hard and was very respectful. They cleaned up and did some extra work to make sure the sidewalk worked to the best with our fencing, etc. I would highly recommend this company. The cost was a little higher but I thought it was worth it.

Dave provided very critical review of our initial plan and made suggestions to improve it, including ways of designing the patio to avoid future cracking or heaving. We desired completion by July 4. Dave and his team met this date easily. They were all punctual, highly professional, and efficient. Whenever questions came up, we worked through them very quickly and without interruption to the work. The team was also very careful with the form work and subgrade preparation. We're hoping to enjoy the new patio for years to come.

We had about 13 concrete stairs outside of our house, leading up a steep hill to the front doorway, that were each in various stages of disrepair. The stairs also had curbs on either side, as retaining walls for the banks on each side of the staircase. There was also a sidewalk at the top of the stairs, which sloped precariously towards the stairs. With every snow/ice event, I pictured someone sliding down the sidewalk....down the stairs. Dave Fleischhacker was wonderful. He explained how he would tear out the stairs with minimal disturbance to the grass and gardens and how he would regrade the sidewalk and build new stairs that were actually uniform in size! (Our previous stairs were all kind of different...) He was very thorough and detailed and showed us drawings of his plans in his estimate. He and his workmen were punctual, thorough and did the work just as promised, if not better. We'll post before/after pics after the concrete has completely dried. The entire project took under 2 days to complete! I have seen people with a lot fewer stairs have their projects take a great deal longer.

The job was completed over a three week period. Three persons were here every day by 7:30AM (except for a couple rain days). They were very professional, suggested and executed many improvements to the overall job. They take extreme pride in their craftsmanship and the work product reflects it. They are very neat, clean up site each day and respect the surrounding property. There was very little damage to our lawn etc. There were some changes to the scope of repair and replacement as more block deterioration was uncovered as work proceeded. Dave was very fair and up front on all extras. I was extremely satisfied and believe I received an excellent work product in all respects. Dave Fleischhacker, his son Ryan and their associate Marcellus are fine persons and excellent craftsman. As a business person, I have been involved in many construction projects over the years and I have encountered none better!

We had 4 bids and 4 different opinions on what was needed for our long country driveway. Dave Fleischhacker came out and gave the most thorough bid.and seemed to best understand how this driveway is used and what would be most durable. He and his crew showed up right on time the first day and worked steadily each day until the project was completed, about 4 days later. They asked me many questions regarding my preferences for layout throughout the construction, and made sure I was completely satisfied. They took extra time and care to get it the way we wanted and even made sure our Invisible Fencing line was back to working after breaks in the wire occurred. The entire crew was a pleasure to work with and very considerate of our property and of the neighborhood. Even though Dave's bid was the highest of the 4 we got, he seemed to offer far more value than the other contractors, including a five year warranty on spalling, thicker fiber reinforced concrete (6") on the narrow part of our driveway (5" elsewhere) to handle heavy trucks like septic trucks, reinforcing rods throughout, and wet cuts. He came in at bid with the exception of an additional fee for foundation repair (which was understandably unknown until the old driveway was removed) and vinyl expansion joints. Our only small complaint would be that additional cost for the expansion joints, which we feel could have been covered in the bid. Dave Fleischhacker and his crew are concerned with doing the job right and having an attractive, durable driveway when they are done. Our driveway is beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased. We would definitely refer any friends to them and would hire them again for future projects.

He showed up on time, explained all of the issues and details of the bid, and responded to all of my questions. I selected another contractor because the price was 15% lower for similar service.

We needed to replace our old asphalt driveway, and our first big decision was whether to stick with the asphalt or replace it with concrete. We liked the look of concrete better than asphalt and with the rising price of oil-related products, the longevity of concrete was attractive despite the higher up-front cost. But we knew it had to be done right or it wouldn't survive the harsh winters. Dave gave us a 5 year warranty and several references which we checked out before choosing his company. He gave us a detailed bid that included removal of several bushes that were in the way and which we had wanted to remove in any case. We are very happy with the results so far. They said they will come back in about 30 days to apply a sealer. Even before the concrete had dried (while the yellow tape was still up) we were getting compliments from our neighbors on how good our new driveway and walkway look. Dave and his staff were a pleasure to work with throughout the whole experience, and we highly recommend this company.

Dave called me back and came over to give me an estimate the same day I called. He looked at all the concrete around the house before making a recommendation. He explained the options I had for the foundation under the steps; the other contractors just assumed what I wanted. They came a couple of weeks later to do the work, actually a little sooner than I expected. They did the work on a Friday and a Monday and maybe an hour Tuesday morning. I was at work most of the time they were working. With my permission, they trimmed some bushes that were in their way. They told me that they noticed a gas smell while working and called Excel Energy to fix a leak in the gas meter. The one miscommunication we had is that they didn't tell me Friday that they needed electrical power before I left for work. We corrected this on the Monday. The finished work looks good, and water is now flowing away from the house.

They were the only firm that recognized the water damage done below the surface of the driveway to the foundation. Dave was very professional and the started the job ahead of schedule and completed in two days. The crew was very courteous and they cleaned everything up promply. There price was in the middle of the 6 estimates I received. Dave (the owner) took time to explain what had happened to my foundation and how they proposed to repair it. This is a quality operation.

These dudes are top notch. Their estimate was professional and honest. They were very helpful in suggesting options. Their work ethics are commendable. These guys showed up on time everyday, removed my old garage floor, driveway, etc., and hauled the stuff away maintaining respect for my property. They came up with ways to do the job that left minimal impact on my family's daily activities. As a quality assurance professional for over 20 years, I have to say that this team of men exhibited optimal professionalism in their work processes and the product that was rendered to me (and some of my neighbors) was of a quality level that I don't think can be exceeded.

We are very satisfied with the work. The company provided a detailed estimate that was competitive with other estimates we received. We looked at recent work the company had done in our neighborhood. They were able to begin the work almost immediately after we decided to hire them, and they completed the project in four consecutive working days. Because our house is old we anticipated surprises when the old steps were demolished. Fortunately, Fleischhacker discovered relatively minor problems, and Dave consulted with us on solutions. Because our alley is relatively high, it was a challenge to pour the garage apron correctly so that water would not run into the garage. Dave was particularly creative in sloping the apron to mitigate this potential problem. The four-person crew worked quickly, efficiently and kept our yard clean.

This was the easiest major home project I have ever contracted out. Dave visited to make measurements, then completed his bid on the spot, so there was no waiting to receive it. He included a list of jobs he had completed nearby, so I was able to get a neighbor's reference. Once hired, Dave was able to get his crew to the house a couple days later, as he had a postponement on another job. The crew worked fast and completed the entire project in two working days. The cleanup was so thorough you could hardly tell they were there. Virtually no damage to lawn, even though it rained heavily the night before the job. Start to finish, this was a very professional team and an outstanding result.

Dave Fleischhacker promptly came out to give us an estimate. He spent a good deal of time going over the options and explaining his methods. His crew showed up when he said they would and were on schedule throughout the whole job. Dave saw to related details, such as laying some drain tile for future landscaping and hauling away an old fence for no extra charge. The workmanship was excellent, and Mr. Fleischhacker even took the time to come back to make a small repair that was not covered on the warranty.

Dave Fleischhacker spent a long time meeting with us to plan replacement steps, including the design. Dave's crew arrived promptly, removed the old steps and sidewalk, dug a trench and poured a new a footing for the steps, built a form and poured the new steps and sidewalk. We are extremely impressed with the quality of the work and Dave's professionalism. He was very friendly and explained all the steps to us in detail. They even graded our lawn to match the new height of the sidewalk and help remove a lot of bumps. They also brought us a load of topsoil to spread around the lawn. We would definitely recommend Dave's company to anyone planning this kind of renovation.

The work went well. Dave Fleischhacker came out promptly and gave me an estimate. The final cost was the same as the estimate. He estimated a time they could complete the work and was actually able to fit us in a little sooner. The crew worked quickly and professionally. Cleanup was good. The quality of the work was good. Dave was pretty low-key but professional.

David was not very professional. It was raining when he came out for the quote and had me hold the end of the measuring tape while he measured (I had three other companies quote this job and none of them did that, even when it wasn't raining). His company did not offer the options I wanted and I decided to go with a more established company with a higher level of professionalism.

The crew showed great experience and skill in analyzing the trouble and completing the work.

The job was excellent and they always kept the work site clean. I'd highly recommend them to others!

I was extremely pleased with the companies work. Dave returned our call and came out to do the estimate on the same day that we initially contacted him. He prepared an estimate for us before leaving. This was late in the season (late September) and we were very happy that he responded so prompt. Several other companies we contacted either did not respond to our phone calls or told us that they were booked up for the year. Dave seemed very experienced with this kind of repair work. By looking at the condition of our apron he was able to predict that the concrete block underneath was very likely rotten. Dave and his large crew came out to perform the work on the date promised. They were courteous and professional. They were careful to keep the concrete truck off our existing concrete driveway. They used wheelbarrows to transfer the concrete.
