Our 1932 boiler had been serviced by McQuillan when we bought the house eight years ago and we continued. They kept the boiler running well and last year recommended it might be time to consider a new boiler. We did do an upgrade.

They are wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about them.

We selected McQuillan Brothers because they were willing to do both plumbing and heating/AC (see separate report) work and the price seemed fair, although we experienced significant sticker shock. We needed to hire a carpenter to work with McQuillan Bros because the basement floor needed to be broken up and said they couldn't take responsibility for structural issues with the house (support columns, footings), which cost about $1200 more. Had a few add-ons that increased the price about $1000 for unexpected conditions that I think they should have anticipated. They did some extra drain work in the kitchen during the course of installing a vent for which we were not charged extra. McQuillan workers and subs were polite, professional and went right to work when they arrived; quality of work was good; workers were good about cleaning up after themselves. Overall there were some frustrations and delays with the project but the work done is good quality and I don t have any major regrets.

Although they got a lot done when they were here on any given day, sometimes several days would go by with no workers showing up and no phone calls from the project manager. Overall, there were some frustrations and delays with the project, but the work done is good quality and I don t have any major regrets.

Very well. I am a regular McQuillan customer and had my yearly maintenance check in the fall. In January on one of the coldest weeks (of course), the heat pump broke down. At first I couldn't tell if it was working just seemed colder in the house. I asked someone to come out to take a look at it. By the time someone came out, the temp was normal. It checked out fine. When I came home from work the next day, it was veyr cold. By this time it was after hours. I called and was told there would be a wait since the crew was out. I asked to be put on the list and they noticed that someone had been out before. Within and hour, Tim, the owner was at my door to take a look at it. He made a temporary repair and had someone out the next day. Great service!

The estimator was very rude. He did not spend five minutes before telling me it would be $5000 to do what was needed exclusive repairs to the floor and drywall. He told me he would send me a written estimate and he never did.

They are very professional, and they knew what they were doing. They were expensive but worth the money. They did a good plumbing job, though the clean up could use some work.

THEY SENT SOMEONE WHO WASN'T TRAINED TO DO THE REPAIR AND THEN BLAMED US.

I WAS ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AHEAD OF TIME. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN CAME AS PROMISED. HE DID A THOROUGH JOB OF INSPECTING BOILER AND MAKING ADJUSTMENTS AS NEEDED. HE FOUND A DEFECTIVE VALVE AND WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR ON THE SPOT.

QUICK RESPONSE, EFFICIENT WORK. PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE WAS PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. PLUMBER PASSED ALONG SOME HELPFUL TIPS AS HE WAS WORKING ON THE DRAIN INCLUDING ADVICE ON HOW TO AVOID THE PROBLEM THE NEXT TIME.

THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY NICE AND EXPLAINED THAT THEY DON'T GIVE ESTIMATES FOR A JOB LIKE MINE SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS. IT IT'S TREE ROOTS IT COULD TAKE A LONG TIME TO CLEAR OUT. FOR THIS REASON, THEY CHARGE AT AN HOURLY RATE, NOT BY THE JOB. THIS APPROACH IS TOO IFFY FOR ME, SO I DIDN'T HIRE THEM.

FLEXIBLE IN WORKING WITH US AS WE DUG THE TRENCH OUT. NOT THE MOST PUNCTUAL, SEVERAL WEEKS LATER THAN EXPECTED TO SHOW, AND WORKING CONSISTENTLY. WORK WAS EXCELLENT

I CONTACTED MCQUILLAN BY PHONE AND SPOKE TO A VERY NICE RECEPTIONIST WHO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE SAME WEEK. THE PLUMBER ARRIVED ON TIME AND THE WORK WAS DONE VERY WELL. I THOUGHT THE COST WAS REASONABLE AND WE WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

TIM MCQUILLAN WAS FRIENDLY, BUT DID NOT SPEND MUCH TIME EXPLAINING WHAT HE RECOMMENDED DOING OR WHY. HE ONLY SPENT ABOUT 15 MINUTES TOTAL, WHICH WAS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN OTHER CONTRACTORS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE PRICE WAS $1300 HIGHER THAN THE HIGHEST OF OUR THREE OTHER BIDS AND HE DID NOTHING TO EXPLAIN WHY THAT MIGHT BE. IN FAIRNESS, HOWEVER, WE DID NOT TRY TO CONTACT HIM AND ASK HIM WHY HIS BID WAS SO HIGH. FELT MORE COMFORTABLE WITH OTHER COMPANIES.

GREAT WORK, BUT THEY CHARGE FOR IT. WORKMAN LEFT A MESS.

VERY AWARE OF MIMIMIZING DAMAGE TO AN ORDERLY HOME. EXCELLENT SERVICE.

I WAS IN A BIND, NEEDING WATER PRESSURE FOR MY PAINTERS TO POWER SCRUB MY HOUSE FOR HOUSE PAINTING. I PHONED MCQUILLAN AT 7:45AM AND WAS MET AT MY PROPERTY AT 8:30AM. WORK WAS DONE THE FOLLOWING DAY AND MY PAINTERS HAD PRESSURE BY NOON. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED THE NEXT DAY AND THE WORK WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH BOTH THE RESPONSE AND THE QUALITY OF WORK AND WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.

SEAN, MY TECHNICIAN, WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS SERVICE. HE WAS VERY CLEAN. THEY HAVE SOMEONE COME IN AS THEY FINISH THE WORK TO CLEAN UP. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO CALL THEM BACK BECAUSE THEY DID IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS DOING OR WOULD HAVE TO DO. THEY WORKED FOR ABOUT 4.5 TO 5 HOURS, AND THE PRICE INCLUDES THE PARTS USED. THEY MAY BE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHERS, BUT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK IS WORTH IT. I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE JOB DONE PROPERLY.

WORK WAS SATISFACTORY; LEFT THE AREA NEAT AND CLEAN. PRICE WAS $50-100 MORE THAN ESTIMATE. WE THINK WE WERE BILLED FOR TIME WAITING FOR THE UNIT TO BE DELIVERED.

I CALLED THEM THREE TIMES FOR UPDATE ON WHEN THEY WOULD VISIT OUR HOUSE (THEY DIDN'T CALL US). ON THE THIRD CALL THEY SAID THEY HAD AN EMERGENCY AND COULDN'T COME TO OUR HOUSE. RECEPTIONIST DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE VERY MUCH ABOUT OUR BUSINESS.

RECEIVED WRONG ADDRESS FROM DISPATCHER. I MAY HAVE BEEN CHANGED MORE FOR TRAVEL TIME BECAUSE OF THIS. HOWEVER, THE WORK DONE WAS EXCELLENT.

HIGH PRICED, HAD TO RETURN TWICE WORK NOT DONE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME.

HAS USED OVER SEVERAL YEARS, CALLS BE FORE HE SHOWS UP, VERY PROFESSIONAL, WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE!

WAS UNAWARE OF A "TRUCK CHARGE" OF $25, LOOKS LIKE PRICE WAS CHANGED FROM $15, THEY DID NOT BILL ON SITE, I SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE SERVICE PERSON HOW MANY HOURS I WAS OING TO BE CHARGED FOR

WONDERFUL COMPANY, FAIR PRICE, VERY PERSISTENT.
