Description of Work: Received a bid for new furnace and air conditioning installation. I have used Snelling Heating and Cooling in the past and have no complaints. This time I just selected a different vendor.

Description of Work: Snelling did an inspection on my old gravity furnace. Many other furnace repair companies in town refused to even look at the unit, based on its age (and in some cases, their lack of familiarity with such furnaces.) Some of the other companies tried to steer me (sight unseen, and over the phone) into replacing the unit- something that will eventually have to be done, but not necessarily at this time. Anyway, Snelling's report (and customer service) were honest and straight-down-the-middle. The comments/recommendations about the furnace closely matched those that my previous furnace repair company (which has recently changed ownership) consistently wrote over the years. Description of Work: Diagnosed a faulty zone in our hot water heating system and replaced the faulty valve motor. The work was done professionally without trouble. The actual bill, however, was confusing. It listed unexplained codes and costs. I wound up on the phone getting a lengthy explanation for the line items. In the end I am satisfied with the work done. Don't expect furnace repair to be cheap. Something simple still may cost a fairly high amount. A well functioning furnace system is not something you can live without in Minnesota.

Description of Work: Mike from Snelling heating and cooling cleaned the ducts in our home as well as did an annual check-up on our furnace. He came when he said he would, was courteous and professional. Mike also wore clean "boot covers" over his shoes when he was in our home. It took approximately 4 1/2 hours for him to complete his task. I especially liked how Snelling handled the quote process. They did not give a low ball quote and then attempt an upsell upon getting the job. The price was based upon the number of supply and return vents in our home. Snelling recommended cleaning each supply and return duct as well as the main trunks to the furnace.
