Terminix - St Louis Park -Termite & Pest Control

We like the service man that comes to our house. He is very personable, thorough, works with us very well and is prompt. His name is Samuel Petersen. He comes every three months, unless I call for something else and I haven't had to.

The issue started with a few mice in our house, and they took care of that issue and now do routine maintance. They always do a good job and we are very pleased with their work.

We hired them to help with a mouse problem in our home. They came and setup bait boxes and walked around the house. The pointed out a few spots that needed to be fixed, but the search was not through and mice were still getting into the house. The replaced the bate boxes a couple of times, but never seemed that concerned about getting rid of the problem. When I had originally called they I told them that I did not have any termite problems, but ended up signing me up for a plan that had it. This added an extra charge to my bill, the person I spoke to on the phone knew this was not the issue, but attempted to charge me for it anyway.

They have done a pretty good job. We are on a quarterly plan and they charge $150 for that. They are friendly. They come on time if not earlier. They are pretty knowledgeable about insects. They really kind of watch things and assess what to apply for different insects. I had a little frustration with their website because that seems to be down a lot. You can get scheduled stuffs online, but you can also do it by phone and they come out pretty quickly. I would definitely use them again in the future too.

It has been a few years now since cancelling service with Terminex but by far they were the worse Pest control company to deal with from a customer service stand point i have dealt with. I would schedule an appointment for them to spray the inside of my home and they would come on a different day and only do the outside then argue about having to come back to do what i paid them to do, spray the inside as well. I originally signed up for several years with ABBA pest control who was bought out by Terminex. Once Terminex took control the company became very coporate and impersonal.

They do what they say they are going to do. I had problems with the rats. They fixed the problem. The work that they do seems to be working. I would use them in the future.

They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They try to get the pests out, so that is good. The quality of work is really good. Price; I have not compared the price for long, but I guess I would go with a ?B?.

Did show up and did not perform work.

I recently have experienced a large number of boxelder bugs outside the home. Terminix has been responsive and attentive to the problem. It is a large company and they do not offer the same level of personal service as a small one - for example, prerecorded messages when you call, sometimes a number of different technicians service the home, occasionally not punctual BUT they do a very good job with pest control, willingly return if the problem persists, and the billing is fair and timely. All in all, I have been pleased with the job they have done over the past several years.

At first the independent company I hired in approx late 2008 performed well. Once they were bought out by Terminix that company became extremely less customer orientated. When I hired them for their maintenance plan both sides agreed that when they come out they will spray inside and out. That agreement and personal service took place until Terminix took over. The company attitude changed and the service went way down hill. When the now Terminix employee came out they did not call to set up an appointment to spray like they used to do before performing a service call. The Terminix employee came out twice without calling and setting up an appointment and wanted to charge me for a full service call. I called several times, notified them I would gladly pay them when they performed the full service call. The female receptionnist employee in St.Louis Pk got angry with me and rude, threatened to sue me for $80.00 even after I explained over and over that I didn't have a problem paying for good service but I was not going to pay for incomplete service. Terminix again sent out an employee when I was not again and tried to charge me for complete service again. I called them and cancelled my service, contacted their corporate office and paid for service performed.

It was a year long service, with four visits at the quarterly marks. We had ants coming into the house. They checked on the problem and asked us where we were seeing them. They explained what kind of chemicals they were using and that they were safe for humans; we have no pets, but the company does have different chemicals for sensitive pets. They have called us in advance to let us know when they were coming for a follow-up visit. They show up on time and introduce themselves at the door. They make sure we aren't having any more problems. They are very thorough and they have very good customer service, in person. EDIT: Since being finished with the service, the company (via its telephone sales) has been very aggressive about continuing the service. I turned them away at the door when they showed up at the 5th quarter, as I had contracted and paid for only one year of service. I then called the service business department to request that they be certain I was NOT on the books for any more visits or billing, as we had finished. In the months that followed I was subjected to several more calls in an attempt to get me to take the service again. It went from being a great experience to being extremely bothersome, almost to the point of harassment. I had to state that if they called me again I would take legal action in small claims court (which I would indeed have done). They have finally stopped calling. I sincerely hope that this was not the standard practice at the headquarters, and wish that others have a better end experience than I did.

I recently canceled our service because of customer service. I have called 3 times to schedule additional service. Box elder bugs and lady bugs are all over our backyard. As the weather gets cooler, they come into the house if not taken care of. Each time I called, I was told that someone from Scheduling would call back to set up a time, but I never received a call. Now the bugs are in the house and it's too late to do anything this winter.

I have had a contract with Terminix for years. The actual people who come to my house do a good job. But their scheduling department is absolutely horrible. Recently I stayed around the house all morning waiting for a service call scheduled at their convenience and no one showed up or called to explain. This has happened two or three times before.

I pay them annually for a contract I have with them. If I have a problem in between their visits they will come out at no additional cost and take care of it. I have been using their service for four to five years now. Their turn over on staffing is frequent so you might not get the same people ever. Usually they are are time when they come but sometimes they are not.

Usually, they are okay. However, when we had a problem which was not a part of the routine service (ant infestation) we never received a call back. I had to call for service.

The first time they came out I wasn't very impressed but I called them back and they came back out and did a great job. He was very friendly and very nice. He sprayed and laid bait. I would recommend them.

Horrible. The work was inconsistently bad. Follow through was non-existent. I was constantly lied to. Why I went back again is a mystery to me even. Then to add insult to injury, I asked that my contract not be renewed. They were still here on a trial basis. That didn't get recorded (where is the surprise there?) and we were billed $106.08 for someone to come through the house for 5 minutes during dinner and spray all over us and the food. Please find someone else. If you have someone good, the turnover is so rapid that person will be gone the next time you are serviced.

They sprayed exterior of home one time per quarter (ended up being about $100 per spray). Occasional interior checks were part of the deal, but I was never home when the service guy came. Service guys name was Mike, very nice guy and good work ethic. I have noticed less spiders and centipedes in the unfinished basement of our old house, so the exterior spray must work for that. But I was not really satisfied with the initial carpenter ant colony detection service that I originally called them for.

Never on time! Even when specifically requesting that they be on time, they were either quite late, or would not show up at all. On the last no-show, I didn't even get a call back to reschedule until two days after complaining. From what the exterminators told us, the local branch has been going through high employee attrition, resulting in poor, slow service; far too much work for the few of them to handle. This, however, is not the fault of the local people. When they show up, service is excellent. However, good luck trying to get resolution from the main company. Terrible 1-800 support staff;gave the impression that they don't care for their customers. Either they couldn't find the local person to determine if they were going to show up at all, or they just would ignore my request for restitution for no-shows, time lost, etc. After a long battle, they finally gave us a $10 discount. We will not be renewing. Look for local folks instead.

We started using Terminix because we bought a house and noticed a large number of carpenter ants around the garage. On the first visit, the Terminix guy went around our house very thoroughly and sprayed and let us know possible things we could do to prevent entry. We had a mouse problem in the crawl space in the spring and he walked us around the house showing us possible points of entry. We are very happy with the service, and our problems have dissapeared for now.

The first visit went very well. Was explained that it was a year long contract, so the next visit was to be in January. We were not contacted about when that would take place, so that they could treat inside (as nothing could be or was done outside in January). Did nothing in January, and did not try to reschedule to come into our home. After debating the bill for several months, they were going to make another visit in May. We were home for part of the time and when we had to leave, we left specific instructions about what to treat. It appears that no one came and definitely that nothing had been done. Had a very hard time getting in touch with supervisors to work this out. Finally, they have cleared the balance on our account, and we will not do business with them again.

They were on time and very through. They investigated the house inside and out for problems. They also identified the source of the outside problem and applied solution to proper areas. The plan is for them to return every 3 months for elimination of other pests such as Asian Beatles, etc.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. THE TWO MEN THAT CAME TO DO THE TREATMENT EXPLAINED IN DETAIL HOW THE PROCESS WORKS. TERMINIX HAS YOU BUY A 1 YEAR CONTRACT TO TREAT YOUR HOUSE QUARTERLY. AT THE END OF THE YEAR YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO CONTINUE SERVICE IF NEEDED. THEY EVEN POINTED OUT THAT OUR WINDOWS WERE NOT CAULKED OR SEALED ON THE OUTSIDE AND THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS WE HAD SUCH A PROBLEM WITH BOX ELDERS COMING INTO OUR HOME.

OVERALL, TERMINEX DID A GOOD JOB. WE DID NOT SEE ANY MORE ANTS INSIDE THE HOUSE OR OUTSIDE. THEY WERE PROMPT AND CALLED THE DAY BEFORE THE SERVICE WAS DUE.

PRICE IS FOR 1 YEAR CONTRACT TREATING INSIDE AND OUT 4 TIMES/YEAR. WILL TREAT AT NO COST IN BETWEEN SCHEDULED TREATMENTS. ROD WAS VERY NICE AND INFORMATIVE. EXPLAINED CONTRACT THOROUGHLY AND EXPLAINED TREATMENT. HE ADVISED THEY DO NOT TREAT FOR RODENTS, BUT HE DID CHECK FOR SIGNS OF MICE. I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE HAVING THE LIQUID PESTICIDE SPRAYED IN THE HOUSE ALONG THE BASEBOARDS BECAUSE I HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS, BUT I JUST MADE SURE THE KIDS STAYED AWAY UNTIL DRIED (ABOUT 1/2 HOUR).
