Sela Roofing & Remodeling

I had them put a roof on about 18 years ago and they were pretty good then. They were supposed to come out and check for hail damage and was on the roof for about 15 minutes. The other 5 estimates I had done were all in the range of 40-45 minutes minimum.

The siding crew was able to begin on my house almost right away because it was May and still a bit before their busy season. The 2-person crew showed up promptly at 8 a.m. every day and worked until 5 p.m at night with only about a 30 minute break for lunch. They always informed me about what they would be doing that day. They also asked each day if I had any questions or concerns about how the project was going. They were very easy to have around on my property. They were very professional, worked hard each day, and always left the work site cleaned up at the end of each day. The sales man, who was my initial contact, had a number of good ideas about what could be done to give the house curb appeal and look sharp. The siding crew did an excellent job of paying attention to detail and following the suggestions the sales man had discussed with me. The downspout crew and electrician who completed their jobs once the siding was on were also very professional and easy to have on site. The job was completed in10 days. I am extremely pleased with my new siding. I LOVE the updated look. SELA put on my roof about 10 years early. I was pleased then and was happy to see that their professionalism and follow-up after the job was complete remains at the same high level. A pleasure to work with!

The roof was replaced last fall. It was amazing to see them get the whole project done in ONE DAY! They had some people lifting shingles onto the roof, others were nailing, others tossing shingles in the dumpster & picking up nails from the ground with a magnet-on-wheels. They even explained to us about our skylights if they eventually go bad. The siding was replaced this spring. They had a designer assist in accent shakes & accent colored vinyl for the corners--the finished job looks sharp, and our neighborhood is most impressed! The crew had to erect scaffolding to get nearly 3 stories up. All the corners match with the siding. Again, we were most-impressed with their quality & work ethic. We'd bring coffee & water out to them just to show our appreciation. They had 2 different crews doing our work. Both of the crews worked hard and were very polite. They did an excellent job with cleanup as well. Another added plus with them was how they worked with our city building inspectors. We put a 3 season porch on our home before they began the roof/siding project, but it took us 14 months to get the permit--even though it was designed by an engineer! So we really appreciated SELA's patience meeting the demands from the city inspectors.

We had hail damage the previous year and had contacted a contractor that we had used several years prior when we had a previous storm damage claim. They came out gave us an estimate, we signed a contract and two months later nothing was happening. We spoke with a neighbor who had used SELA on their storm damage and followed their recommendation and gave them a call.They were out the next day with an estimate. They worked with our insurance company on payment issues and had the work done on time. The house looks as good if not better then when it was built. They fixed a couple of problems that we were having with our rain gutter drainage (at no charge), the clean up was great. If I ever have a need for this type of service in the future I would not hesitate to give them a call. They are very professional and provided us with a very high quality repair.

They had a problem getting all the things done as per stated in the contract, but they did come out and clarify those problems. It was just pretty frustrating that they messed up some things like the jetter beds for the gutters. I have nothing negative to say because they missed it but they came back out and fixed it.

It was fantastic. they got everything to code because you have to have these new types of tar paper put down and baseboards and vents and everything. They did all that. I chose them because I had it done 15 years ago and they did it then too.

It went very well. They did very nice work overall. I have no complaints. Their pricing was very competitive. I am happy with the job and with people I dealt with. There was a little problem with part of the new roof being scuffed from their ladders, but I didn't feel that it was a big issue. The guy who oversaw the gutter installation stopped by and talked to me. He suggested that I use black leaf guards, since the roof was black as well. I would definitely use them again.

Replaced our roof two years ago with excellent service and quality materials. Had them back again this year and they replaced all our exterior siding and windows. Again great service, great quality, no problems whatsoever. Their crews were even wonderful with our two young children! Would highly recommend to others.

Everyone we came in contact with was very thorough and pleasant. The work was good quality and done quickly. They also worked with our insurance company well.

Fantastic experience. I let them in. They were friendly and professional. Assured me that my dogs were no problem and even asked what their names were. I ran off to do some errands. When I returned, everything was back in place. Floors were vacuumed, blinds back up, and carbon monoxide detectors left for me (because they knew we would have an issue with the city inspectors for not being up to code!) I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone!

Our experience with Sela was the greatest from the beginning to the end. Our sales rep was helpful and attentive. The installers were friendly, professional, and did an outstanding job. We are super pleased with the results and would highly recommend Sela to anyone who needs to re-roof or re-side their home. Well done, Sela!

Sela did an excellent job and was very easy to work with. Their price was very fair. When we had questions or concerns they were very responsive to us. I would do business with them again for sure.

It was certainly an expensive amount. They did a good job. They were on the high side of what I expected for the cost involved, but they did a good professional job and I would recommend them. I'm happy with the work, but I am not happy with the price they charged for it.

Everything went very well from the start to the finish; Jim Jenkins was great to work with and was our point person. Everyone else was very professional, prompt and courteous. All staff were very responsive.

Their professionalism and timeliness with the estimate were good. The estimate was detailed.

We were very pleased with every phase of our project, the salesman was informative and answered every question we had, not the case with other roofing companies. The crew was very professional in quality of work as well as character. The scheduling went well too. Our estimate price was exact, no surprises. It was a very pleasant experience.

Sela replaced the flat roof over our garage and breezeway. As far as price, they were right in the middle of the 3 bids we requested. We chose Sela because of their prompt and professional response and their knowledge of our problem and the solution we would need. They brought our roof up to code for our city and were very timely. Their on-site workers were knowledgeable, professional and considerate and we did not incur any unforeseen, or additional costs over the estimate. This was not a project we wanted to have to do, but Sela made it the best it could be. I would definitely recommend Sela to a friend.

When we had our house built in 1987 we chose cedar siding instead of the pressed board type of siding that the builder provided. The cedar seemed fine but it did suffer from woodpecker visits and occasionally little areas of dry rot. As time went on and the wood got older, carpenter ants, and more woodpeckers would visit. So every few years we had to have repairs done. Sometimes I could do them, but often we had to hire someone to do them. We eventually reached a point where we decided that it was getting to be too expensive to pay for annual repairs and painting every five years. One other thing we were concerned about over the years is that the house seemed too drafty. So we thought it was finally time to do something about it. We quickly decided on steel siding with a Tyvek wrap. We contacted a couple companies, Sela was one of them. Vj, the Sela salesman showed up quite quickly, just like the others had. But VJ was the only one to bring actual samples of the siding! Others promised to send samples later?which never quite arrived. We told VJ that we were thinking of steel siding with a Tyvek wrap and fan-fold insulation (originally suggested by the first company we talked with). VJ had suggested that we get at least ¼? insulation so that the r-value would be the roughly the same as the cedar siding provided. We got the estimate during his visit ? he was able to create it and print it out during the visit. A few days later, we asked how much more it would cost to increase the insulation to 3/8? (approximate r-value of 1.7 as compared to the cedar r-value of .8 ). VJ offered the upgrade at no charge, so we decided to proceed. We also decided at about that time to have Sela arrange to put in a round Anderson window for us. We had always wanted this type of window in our dining room and thought the time was right for that also. Once they got here I met Ho, who would supervise the work, and his crew of workers. Ho and his crew were great! They were all very friendly, worked incredibly hard, and paid attention to the details of what they were doing. The old siding got stripped off rapidly, then some of the crew put up the Tyvek while others repaired little areas damaged by time, insects, and woodpeckers. When removing the old siding on the chimney chase, they noticed that the original builder had taken a shortcut and never installed the underlayment on the top half of the chase?they just had the siding nailed to the frame. So Ho had his crew fix the problem correctly for us with a plywood underlayment. It was a great job by VJ, Ho, and all of the others at Sela.

The salesman was very professional and knowledgeable. The crew was prompt, did an excellent job, did a great job of clean up. The dumpster was picked up the day the job was completed. Very professional group. We were very comfortable working with Sela and felt we had gotten a fair price for the services performed. We would definitely recommend Sela to all our friends and family members.

Working with Sela was a dream come true. One call to set up the estimate and the rest of the job followed a script that ensured we were happy. The estimator came out within a week and we had a new roof by the end of the next! The workers were fast, experienced, and very courteous. The job took a day and a half and our yard was cleaned up each day. The gutters needed a minor adjustment, which was noted on the follow-up visit (!) and taken care of shortly thereafter.

The painter could not start till Sela finished their work. The painter had to begin before the outside temperature changed and now that the cold weather has started - they cannot do any work till spring. So, Sela's delays and complete non-responsiveness has made it impossible to do the work this year. Some of the siding that needs repair is rotted and the rot will continue and go deeper into the structure making the job more difficult and expensive in the long run. Sela replaced our roof about 15 years ago and the experience was good back then but they have been a terrible service provide this year and I can not recommend that anyone consider them for work in the future.

They were on time when they came to give me an estimate which was very important to me as I have dealt with other companys that either call and make up excuses for being late, or just don't show or call. They were helpful with all the questions I had and returned my calls promptly. They worked with me to schedule a day that was convenient for me. They were here the day we scheduled and did the work and cleaned everything up when they left. They were careful around all my plants as well. I am very pleased with the work that they did.

They were excellent to work with from beginning to end. I especailly liked their recommendations. They were very helpful and showed up promptly and did what they promised to do.

The workers were wonderful. On time and did the job. They were the immigrant type - no disrespect. The ONLY reason I say that is because we had absolutely no problems with them. Wonderful workers. Kind, polite, on time. After all this time (job was done in 2008) I *still* have a gripe about the ETHICS of Sela. In short, I wouldn't let them re-roof a dog house! They tried to screw us out of the sale price THEY advertised in the NEWSPAPER in a FULL size ad. The sales person that came over at the end of the job had absolutely NO power of making decisions. We should have been able to simply provide the check and be done with it. 10 minutes and done. It took him over an HOUR to complete the transaction. Luckily, my husband kept the ad to PROVE to him that we should be getting the sale price. Another problem, when they called earlier to check on the job, I thought it was a telemarketer because there was a delay in their response after I answered the phone. So I think I hung up or was short. Tough. My home, my phone I can do that. When the sales guy came over, there was a small post-it on our folder that he didn't even try to conceal with the words, "Wife was rude." Honey, you ain't seen rude yet! Even if I was rude knowing it was them, TOUGH!! You deal with the customer. After the job was done, their stupid sign sat in our yard for weeks until we threw it away. Someone called to come get the sign. I told her our experience. By the end I really laid into her but said I knew it wasn't her, just that I'm appalled with their company. She said she would definitely have someone call me back. That was November-ish 2008. Have YET to hear from them. Nope, wouldn't let them re-roof a dog house. Hope they go out of business.
