We're glad you're reaching out now so that we can resend you the price quote on evaluating the eight fireplaces in your historical home on [Member Information Removed] Our records show that our senior CSIA technician stopped by for "no charge" in February of 2015. He documented the time and cost needed on the invoice/report which you signed. Our technician also emailed you this paperwork with the information. Since its been over a year, we will send you a copy for your records. Please give us a call if you need any further explanation, or if you would like to get on our schedule to do his recommended gas insert service and wood burning fireplace inspections. We would include using a closed circuit camera throughout the internal flue liners of the remaining fireplaces to give you a thorough inspection and recommendations on whether or not you should be using them in their present condition.

Description of Work: I called Jack Pixley Sweeps on the recommendation of another person who was going to clean the chimney (he said there was glazing in the flue and they would not be able to properly clean it). Jack Pixley technician came in and looked it over and said there had probably been a small flue fire at some point in the past. He cleaned it as well as he could, used a camera to inspect for any damage (none was found) and recommended a fire starter kit that would help to reduce the glazing. I was impressed by his care in analyzing the problem and his recommendations. He was also very clean - no mess to clean up.

Description of Work: Level 2 cleaning which is the proper one to fully evaluate the fireplace and flue and chimney. Level 1, which I saw offers on your site..."the big deal" for is looking up and down with a flashlight. I suspect when they arrive they attempt to up sell you to a level 2.The levels are national standards which you can google to see what is included in each level.

We greatly appreciate your good review of our service. Our techs use their closed circuit camera for every evaluation, when that unit allows the camera to fit. The camera proves to see things that a flashlight, visual inspection could miss. We are thankful to be able to have access to such technology that also allows pictures to be taken for the homeowner's records.

Description of Work: Anton arrived on time. Set up protective floor covering. Inspected the wood burning stove. Disassembled the inner baffle, inspected the immediate chimney area. He then proceeded to the roof to inspect and clean the chimney. He provided an in depth report stating the chimney is clean and functional. He also informed of conditions of the exterior surface of the chimney to monitor and make small preventative repairs

Description of Work: Cleaned chimney with power drill and wire brush; possibly dislodged morter between successive flu tiles. Gave erroneous diagnosis as to nature and extent of damage. Subsequently, problem was diagnosed by another vendor as a chimney fire; and chimney was relined at cost of $8000. Fortunately, homeowners insurance covered all but $500.00.

We feel that there has been some confusion with companies, as our technician was hired by [Member name removed] in 2012 after his chimney was repaired by another company. This was after having a chimney fire and that was why his insurance company covered this work. Our findings showed the replacement tile liner that was installed was offset by the smoke chamber where there was also missing mortar that had disintegrated after the repair work that was previously done. We have picture documentation that was taken at the time we did the follow up inspection. Also note, we do not reline fireplaces with tile liners, only stainless steel liners are installed because of there lifetime limited warranty and longevity. Our company appreciates this opportunity to correct this review. The homeowner is welcome to call us with any questions to help resolve this confusion.
