Jack Pixley Sweeps Inc

These people are pro's. Prior to using Jack Pixley, I had used cheaper sweeps. However, shortly after using a cheaper sweep, I had a chimney fire because the cheap guys did such a poor job. Now I will only use someone like Jack Pixley. Their people are highly trained and do a very professional job. I could probably find someone to do it for less, but having the peace of mind that it is being done right, where safety is the main concern, means a lot to me.

They are great. They told me that they could do it from the inside because the flue is straight so it was cheaper than doing it from the roof.

Great job, reasonable price. Provided good info about our fireplace and chimney.

They were detailed and professional. The workers were great. They did a pretty good job. I rate them high overall except price as they were a little expensive. I would definitely consider them in the future.

They are very professional. When they put in the chimney, it was a special one. We know they are familiar with it and we want them to clean it. They are on time. They remind me every year that its time and they give a discount for early cleaning. They come dressed professionally and they are very friendly. They are kind of pricey. We use them every year.

He had a coupon and I forget to get it. He was very clean and did it very, very quickly. He was on time and called before he came because I asked for that. He made recommendations. He said he thought everything looked good and that I didn't need anything. He said that if I scheduled it again I would get a discount so I did. I've done it before myself and hated it so I considered his price to be good. He called to remind me of my appointment. He was very professional and I really liked him.

I wouldn't recommend using them. They seemed more concerned with charging me fees than doing honest busioness.

The technician showed up, took an overview look at the equipment involved and got right to work on cleaning and inspecting it. He set up a drop cloth and newspapers to minimize the spread of any soot etc. and went about doing his work. After finishing from in the house he told me things looked real good and then went outside to inspect the top of the flue. That also looked good and he was done. I was offered a modest price reduction because I had removed the fire bricks from the stove before he arrived and put them back in place after he left. I appreciated that. I trust this company and the work they have done for us in cleaning our wood stove over many years to date. The tech himself was very professional, efficient, and friendly. Thanks for the good work.

They were excellent and wonderful. We are using the fireplace and have had no problems. The price was nominal.

Great experience from making the appointment to the finish; was able to get the date I requested right away. The technician, Ray, was at the property before I arrived. He was extremely professional and courteous; pleasant to talk with, completed job with no mess and did so effeciently. Ray took the time to walk me through some of the issues he saw as well as potential remedies for these. I felt he went about his required duties to provide excellent customer service through the time he took to explain any questions I had, as well as the thoroughness in which he completed the inspection. He even took the time to call me later in the day regarding some follow up questions I had. I appreciated walking away with a copy of inspection upon completion of the work. I would definetly recommend Jack Pixley and the technician Ray.

Rowan showed up on time and was very professional, even spreading out a sheet in front of the fireplace and taking off his shoes at the door. He went above and beyond, painting the fireplace grate without charging me extra. He explained everything he did and didn't try to up-sell me anything; he also took the time to answer all of my questions, even the asinine ones. The price did seem high; almost $300 for slightly more than an hour of work. However, they did quote me this price ahead of time and I was willing to pay a company a little extra that has been around for so long. I was satisfied with the service.

I have a wood stove that they cleaned out and then went on the roof to clean out the flue. My experience was good and they were responsive. But he was not very communicative. While he has been out for almost 18 years, he brought up a situation that was never a problem before. But he did good work and was reasonable. I will look to him in the future for more projects in the future.

They were knowledgeable, left us information about the chimney, and were very cordial.

Since we had used Jack Pixley Sweeps before, I called them the previous week to arrange a chimney cleaning and asked to be scheduled the following week since I would be home that week recuperating from surgery. Though their schedule was full, they made a special effort to schedule me the week I requested. They told me that there was a $30 coupon I could print out from their web site which would reduce the cost of their visit. A couple of days before their scheduled visit I received a call giving me the time window during which they would be there, between 11 am and 2 pm. On the day of the service, Roman called and said he would be there within that time window. He later called and said he was running late and could be there by 2, or I could reschedule. I opted for an estimated 2 pm arrival. He later called to say he was on his way and arrived by 2 pm. He laid out protective covering around the fireplace and moved everything away from the area, and put everything back in its place after he was finished. He cleaned and swept the chimney and fireplace, and showed me the video inspection while it was being completed. He also explained what he was finding as he went along. He worked for about 2-1/2 hours and from what I observed, did a thorough job. He took measurements and photos to bring back to the office so an estimate could be prepared and sent out to me regarding recommended repairs. While I have had visual examination of the chimney before, the video examination was much clearer and gave a much better picture of the condition of the chimney. This experience, from those whom I dealt with on the phone to the work of the service technician, was great. I will definitely use them again.

After hearing Jack Pixley referred to on one of the local radio station home shows, I called to get an estimate to repair our chimney. The initial problem was pieces of chimney flue tile on the ground after windy days. Turned out that I needed my chimney cap replaced. In the end, I did not go with Jack Pixley for two reasons. First their pricing was double what other chimney repair specialists were charging for similar work. Second, I felt a little mis-lead by their estimate policy. They charge $149 to go up on the roof and look at the chimney. The photos and overall report they provided were very good, however they lead me to believe that charging for estimates was a common practice in this industry. Turns out that none of the others I contacted charge for their estimates. I would have used them for the job if the repair price was more in line. I've seen their work on neighbors chimneys, and they do a good job.

They are amazing. They are very responsive. They do a very thorough job of explaining everything they are doing as they are doing the inspection. They left the fireplace area cleaner than it was when they arrived. We have used this company before.

Very well. Cleaned and inspected the chimney with no problems, and with no dirt, or cleanup to do after they left.

The chimney sweep was very professional and explained everything to me. A normal cleaning wouldn't be quite this expensive, but I had a more thorough inspection b/c we've been having trouble with the chimneys. Also, the existing caps were not removable, so I paid to have new caps put on.

Jack Pixley sweeps have done an excellent job for me in the past. I didn't use them this time as I found another equally qualified sweep (Copperfield) on Angie's List that charges less and also had an Angie's List coupon.

A rocky start when we had to schedule because tech was sick. But they were quick to offer a Saturday just a week later, and this time tech was prompt and efficient.

I called Pixley Sweeps and set a date/time that was acceptable to both of us for this job to take place. Pixley arrived on time, used video equipment to inspect the chimney from the top to bottom. Actual cleaning took place and they were very careful on keeping the insides of my house clean while taking any debris with them.

I was pleased with this service. He was on time, polite, did a good job and cleaned up afterward.

First the technician rang the bell, when the bell stopped he knocked on the door, then 10 seconds later he was leaving. Must have been in a hurry to get somewhere else. Then when he cleaned the lower level fireplace, he did remove the chimney cap and climbed up a ladder on the side of the chimney to inspect the top. The chimney cap has a crack that has been patched in the past. He did not mention the presence of the crack. The second chimney, he never even went on the roof to inspect the cap. Finally, he left a couple of paper bags of ash and his cleaning clothes behind. They did come back when called to pick them up from our porch where he left them.

They cleaned and more importantly inspected our wood burning fireplace. We discovered that there was cracks in the liner and it was really unsafe to use. Ray suggested putting a gas insert in because it would be a good option instead of fixing the liner. We love our new insert and appreciate Ray's suggestion even though his company won't be getting our business anymore because we won't be burning wood anymore.

I would give them an overall B. The work was A work, but there was work that never got done. Whenever they came, it was raining, but the boss never called back to reschedule.
