The service was excellent! He painted the inside of the fireplace, cleaned all components, added a little rock at the bottom. It looks like a new fireplace and now works perfectly! All done in an hour time.

I had tried for 4 years to hire someone to clean my chimney out of the phone book, most said we don't service your area, or said we're too busy. This year I tried Angie's List and found a large list. I read through the first recommended service company and found it's customer referrals were not that great, so I started reading through the referrals for Jack Pixley Sweeps and liked what I read about them. I called the number and was told they did service my area and I could schedule a service call in 3 weeks time which amazed me compared to what I had experienced over the past and also gave me an Angie's List discount. They called the day before the appointment and gave me a 2 hour window as to when the tech would arrive and the next day he arrived right on time. He explained how the process would be done and what I could expect when completed. It took about an hour and a half, and he answered all my questions during the process. I am quite pleased as to how it came out. I can now rest assured that my chimney and fireplace is clean and safe to utilize. He pointed out what deterioration had begun on my cap and furnace flue and he recommended how I should deal with it. I am very happy I used this company and will continue to hire them in the future. Scheduled for an inspection and sweep since we haven't had one since we moved in. After doing the inspection first he said we didn't need a sweep as it was pretty clean which saved us a lot of money.

They seem to have state of the art technology. But I've never used a service like this. James seemed extremely knowledgeable. He was patient with our many questions. He explained what he visualized on his in chimney video display as we watched. He also got up on the roof to examine the outside chimney and related parts. Husband wanted to climb up also to have a look. We received less than favorable news and it was not recommended we use the fireplace due to extensive flue and mortar cracks. They did not also clean the flue as that was moot. We received our report via email. He did provide details and estimate for the recommended repairs. He also checked on an alternative to have a gas insert. However it did not included any photos from inside the flue. I will email our inspector and ask for some of those. Apparently adding those to his report clogs their data base. He also happily removed a dead bat that was laying inside the fireplace from when we moved in 1 week prior.

Great job and really great working with this group of professionals. Everyone -- from the initial inspector to the scheduler to the masonry crew who did the work -- communicated very clearly and thoroughly about what they were planning to do, what the next steps were, and when things would happen. I appreciated being shown the interior pictures of the chimney and felt that when they found issues, they tried to find the right way to fix it without adding a lot of cost. Everyone was polite and pleasant and knew their jobs. And the resulting chimney looks great.

We have had our gas fireplaces fixed and tuned in the past and this is the best service we have ever had. Would highly recommend them.

Estimator never showed up during a two hour WINDOW they scheduled. Receptionist confirmed I had the correct date and time, 6/25/18 between 10 AM and noon. I called at 12:30 and was told their man is running late, would I like to reschedule. I believe my response was 'F-that, you kept me waiting for two hours, I will not be doing business with you'
