+ -1 moreThe county I work for used them and I liked the way the did business and I liked their price. They were here when they said they would be. I liked their price and timeliness the best. They were very careful with my furniture. When they moved it back into the room with the hardwood floors I asked them to put pads under the furniture and they gladly did it. They didn't charge me any extra for it either.
Description of Work: They came and moved some furniture around in my house. They moved furniture from one room to another while our floors were being done.

+ -1 moreFirst of all they showed up on time. Then the three man crew worked quickly, carefully and capably. The company charges by the hour and they wasted no time and were well worth the cost. I found out that this company is unique in that most of the movers have worked there for as many as 20 years. The experience shows in their ability to work efficiently together, their proper handling of items, and ability to make maximum use of the truck space. No question about it, I would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: This company moved the entire contents of my Town Home including appliances.

Description of Work: We had a few very heavy objects that we wanted to (a) donate to Bridging (furniture for people who needed it) or, (b) send to the dump, if no one wanted it. Bester Brothers came and worked very efficiently. The minute one object was moved, they picked up another. They showed good judgment when it came to getting big objects up and down the stairs - no woodwork was scratched, and there was no pressure put on the bannister. They were good natured, also.

+ -1 moreComplications came from moving from a large newly built house to a 1920's small bungalow in St Paul, the latter with narrow entrances, and step stairwells. Because of the narrow spaces, Besters had to take off doors form refrigerators, as well as doors and banisters. They arrived on time, worked straight through until completion (7 hours). We were very happy with the work Bester's did.
Description of Work: Moved large furniture and appliances from Prescott Wisconsin to St Paul, a local move of 40 mi. Bester Bros went sent four moversand two vans. Called three Angie's list moving companies, but only Besters sent an estimator, although all three charges by the hour. One of the other companies would have sent one truck and three movers, the other, the same sized truck and two movers, thus they would not have had enough space in their truck for what we had. Description of Work: I had them do the heavy lifting moving stuff around between the outside, garage, and basement. They disassembled beds and did all of the things I can no longer do. They partially loaded a trailer for me.

+ -1 moreThe movers showed up within 15 minutes of the agreed upon time. They worked efficiently while loading and unloading. We ended up having them move stuff from our storage locker and some extra boxes. Even with the extras we ended up paying less than the quote. Other than a few comments from the movers everything went smoothly. I would definately use them again.
Description of Work: We hired Bester Brothers for our move. They came out to look over our apartment so we would have an estimate for the move. The person was in an out within 10 minutes. The estimate was for 3 movers for 6 hours. We were only going to have them move our furniture from our 2 bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house.

+ -1 moreI called them and they sent someone out to appraise the situation the very day I called. They handled the dates and corresponce between me and my exhusband in an efficent, timely manner and set up a workable date to move the items from my residence to his. They showed up on time and were polite, efficient and did not waste any time getting it in the truck and on it's way. It was paid for on the other end, so I am not certain of the total cost, but the hourly rate was reasonable. I was very impressed with all of them.
Description of Work: They moved office furniture from one residence to another due to a divorce. They were punctual, polite and worked fast. I was amazed at how fast they moved it all out and into their truck. I would highly recommend them and use them again. I would trust them with anything as far as total respect for one's property.

Bester Bros. returned my call promptly and set up an appointment.(The other mover had me quantify my household goods on an online form and gave me an est. via email). At the appointment, they reviewed the house, asked what was going, staying, etc. and explained their service and history. They provided a fair quote via email and I set the date. Bester Bros. did the job with courtesy, professionalism and quality service.The crew arrived on time on move day and after introducing themselves and touring the house, went right to work. The crew (Brian, Josh, Andy and Mike) were great. They really did a great job moving everything and especially the few antique items that I own. They made a stop en route to my storage unit and dropped off a load of boxes there (I am downsizing). They asked pertinent question regarding items and their eventual location in the new place and worked with care to make sure walls and furniture were not compromised. I would use Bester Bros. again in a heartbeat.

+ -1 moreIt went very well; better than expected in fact. They were very professional and careful and most were very friendly; they all worked very h****** a very hot day. Their policy of letting customers borrow wardrobe containers was a HUGE help. As an additional bonus, they were able to arrange for a short notice move for my mom to move out of an apartment to a nursing home and get a truck out within two days and at a very reasonable fee ($159.) I will DEFINITELY use Bester Brothers when and if I move locally again. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Bester Brothers moved my family from one house to another about five miles away. Most other moving companies didn't want to send out an estimator, but Bester Brothers did, and he was INCREDIBLY accurate. In the end the number of boxes we bought was within five of what was required and the actual price of the move was $6 less than his estimate. The estimator gave us a broken down estimate for the move itself (two trucks; five men) and the boxes (which he provided a very generous discount on.) After we set a date, they delivered the boxes the next day. We planned for their staff to show up between 8 and 8:30 AM and they were there right at 8:00; four of the five movers were extremely experienced and friendly, one was obviously learning and was much more reserved. I was impressed by how the more experienced movers provided instruction and guidance for the newer man when it was necessary. They all worked very hard and emptied the house (3300 square feet) in 3 hours and were very respectful of antiques and fragile items. I asked if they were going to take a lunch break on the way to the new house but they didn't (I was appreciative, as they were on the clock) and unloaded and set up the furniture in the new house in about the same amount of time. They were done by 3 PM and we were startled to find the bill was $2,000 even (the estimate had been for $2,006!) The only damage noted was a tiny piece of veneer on a credenza was inadvertently removed by a pad that caught on it's edge.

+ -1 moreWhen the representative came to our home and surveyed our furnishings he gave us an estimated cost of $1785. He was very friendly (Lynn) and efficient. I explained that we would have to move our things out on the 23rd of May and they would have to hold them until the actual closing on our new home on 5/26. He gave me a price for that and said it would be no problem. The three movers came on the assigned day, on time, and ready to work. They were professional; very careful not to scratch anything; one even asked if I wanted to keep a chair to sit in while they moved the things out. They worked quickly and efficiently, and finished before the alloted time. On Thursday, 5/26, we closed on our house at 12:30 pm and they were at the new house at 1:00 pm. Again, they worked quickly, moving things that may not have been marked wherever we told them. We had some of the original team and they were familiar with us and our things. Again, they finished early. The final cost was $1505, well below the price originally quoted. I would definitely call them again, if needed. Good guys and very courteous and efficient.

+ -1 moreThe truck arrived on time; the two movers were friendly and very efficient. They placed absorbent pads on all of the floors and stairways to protect them from snow and dirt. I was amazed at how quickly they loaded and unloaded the truck. Everything arrived in perfect condition - they navigated the large pieces of furniture around the corners and down the hallway without banging against the walls. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We had them pick up all of the furniture from the dining room and family room, take it away, store it, and then return it when our remodeling was done. The office staff and the guys that did the moving were all great to work with; very careful and considerate and pleasant to deal with; we had some special requests and they were very accommodating. We'd use them any time, and highly recommend them! Their price was very reasonable.

Description of Work: I was calling moving companies from Angie's List for a two part move to another home in the TC area. I was somewhat surprised that Bester sent out a representative to talk to me about the move. I was really surprised that I gained so much knowledge about how I could make better decisions about what was sent the first trip versus the second move (near the first of the year). The visit firmed up my opinion that this was the best moving company for us. They moved one truck load of furniture and boxes to our new home.

They gave me a price per hour and estimated the approximate cost on what I told them needed to be moved. They called the day before to confirm their arrival time. They arrived on time. After the work was completed in the rooms I called them on a Friday to request the furniture be moved back on Tuesday afternoon. They were there on time and completed the job in less time then was estimated which meant a reduced charge. We were very happy with this company.
Description of Work: Had Bester Brothers move all the furniture from the living and dining rooms into the family room. When ready they moved all the furniture from the family room back into the living and dining rooms plus put pads, that we supplied, on all furniture bottoms and legs
