+ -1 moreThey arrived on time and did a good job packing what we left for them to move. I thought the truck they used was too small and they had to pile allot of things on top of each other. I took our valuable things in our enclosed trailer to make sure they didn't get damaged. They arrived on time in Fargo. The bad: They broke a mirror right in front of me and made a note to take care of that on the paperwork. A couple days after they left i hooked up my dehumidifier and it didn't work. I called and told them about it. I sent a copy of the replacement price for the mirror and the dehumidifier. Over a month later i took off the cover of the dehumidifier and found that a wire had broke and fixed it myself. Any normal customer would bring it in for repair and send the mover the bill. I sent a note telling I had fixed it. Today is 12/6/13. I still have not received anything from them about the mirror.

+ -1 moreI found them on Angie's List. I paid a little more than was quoted, but they had extra steps involved and were very good. There were four guys in the moving crew. They were great and cleared everything out. I did not want wardrobe boxes used because they took up space in the truck, but they brought them anyway.

+ -1 moreVery well. They were professional, efficient and communicative during the move. At various stages they asked me to check to see that they had gotten everything out of the rooms. When it became clear that it was a bigger job than expected, they called in two more teams to help and got the job done. Everything was moved to the right places in the new space. Very good experience.
Description of Work: At my place of work, they moved our office to another location. I don't know details on the cost or arrangements before and after, as I was only involved in the packing preparations and day of the move.

We just wanted to make sure that everything went smoothly and the last thing we wanted was something to go wrong with moving. The guys had a good working relationship and we could tell that they got along well. They were really professional with us. In fact we will be recommending them to our clients.

+ -1 moreI would definitley reccomend Bester Bros to any of my friends and family. They came out to my apartment before the move to get an estimate on how much time and money it would cost to move to my new place. On the day of the move, they showed up right away during my scheduled time and finished a few hours ahead of schedule (which of course meant more money in my pocketbook, as I paid a few hundered dollars under the quoted price). Throughout the entire process everyone was very courteous and professional. Once I was at the new home, the movers asked where to place the items to make sure that I would not have to move them to a different place later on.
Description of Work: They helped me move all my furniture and boxes from my apartment to new home.

There was, however, miscommunication regarding the scheduling of the arrival of the load and how it would be delivered to the Arkansas location. This caused stress for me, but everyone involved was courteous and worked diligently to get all things rectified.

The final price was higher than their original quote, items were placed in the wrong boxes, and they've had a table which they broke for nearly three months. I just feel as though they bit off more than they could chew.

+ -1 morewhole deal went great. Dylan and Josh (the moving crew) arrived on time. They were very professional and knew the best plan for the moves. The were polite and seemed to take good care of the pieces by wrapping them with moving blankets once the furniture was in their truck. They did have to remove a door to the house where the furniture was going, in order to get it in the correct room.
Description of Work: Moved antique dining set (table & 4 chairs) plus large antique buffet from one private residence to another (approx 4 miles away).

Their crew was well organized, efficient, thorough and respectful of our property from the packing through the entire move. The move could not have gone any smoother!

+ -1 moreThe packing and loading went extremely well. The house was protected from damage and there was no mess when it was all done. Of course we were worried about how things would be when our possessions arrived in Florida. The Stevens driver called two days in advance to tell us when he would arrive and then called again the night before to tells us the time. The van arrived when they said they would and the unloading went smoothly again protecting the house from damage with floor coverings and door protectors. The boxes were carefully placed in the rooms where they were going and each item was checked against the inventory. They were done in just over two hours and they unpacked the large items and carried off the packaging so we were left with no mess. There was nothing damaged and everything arrived so we were very pleased. I would recommend both Bester Brothers and Stevens for moving as they were very professional and friendly in what is a trying time moving from one house to another.
Description of Work: We sold our house in White Bear and moved to Sarasota, Florida. Bester Brothers and Stevens Moving managed the the move. I was apprehensive about the move based on a BAD experience we had with a company the moved us from Duluth to White Bear ten years ago. Bester Brothers responded to my request for a quote and was at our house the next day. We were moving only a small amount of furniture, mostly boxes, art, and TVs, We had already packed the majority of the house when it was staged for sale. The quote from Bester Brothers was reasonable and the reviews were good so we setup up the move for two weeks later. Bester Brothers is an agent for Stevens, a Michigan company that does interstate moving. On the day of the move, Aaron arrived with another young man to pack art and TVs. The big van from Stevens arrived on time and prepared the house for loading by putting down carpet protectors and padded the doors to prevent any damage. The two Stevens movers were very pleasant and courteous and inventoried everything that was going in the truck. The loading went smoothly and was finishted before 1:00 pm. The packing by Aaron was done very carefully and neatly. We had a special table that required a custom made crate and Bester Brothers had that made for us and the table was secured inside. All the people from Bester Brothers and Stevens were very professional and easy to deal with. All of the elements of the move were fully explained and I was given copies of the inventory. Stevens gave us a window of eight days for when the shipment would arrive in Florida.

+ -1 moreMy father-in- law had passed away and his house had been sold. It got down to just a few days before closing and we had to get them moved or loose them. They are old, cracked, and very heavy. We are now the third generation to own them, so we needed someone to be careful when moving them. With just a few days noticed they agreed to move them for us. They called ahead so I could meet them at the house. I sorry but I don't know the two guy's names but they were very friendly and were careful when moving the benches and birdbath. It was a great experience and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: They moved two large solid concrete outdoor benches and a large solid concrete birdbath from my father-in-laws house to mine.

I liked that they wore a uniform so that they could be identified and were very careful to protect my floor using ramps and mats. It was absolutely great.

+ -1 moreWe contacted Bester Bros. last spring, thinking we would be moving Memorial Day weekend. John, the owner came out to do an on-site estimate, which included giving us info on cost, logistics and even the number and types of boxes we would need. The original estimate for an end of the month move was about $1000. Unfortunately, the sale of our condo fell through. When I called to cancel the service, they were very kind and marked our move down as "postponed". They insisted that we keep the boxes they had lent us. When we did finally sell our condo later in the summer they were more than happy to reschedule us. They gave us a lower rate than the original estimate because we moved mid-month and on a weekday. The three man crew loaded our condo up in less than 2 hours. They unloaded us at our new house the next day, also in record speed. The crew members were three younger, but very professional and efficient guys. They were very careful with all of our stuff. One item was damaged in the move. Even though it wasn't particularly valuable, they brought it to our attention right away and offered us a couple of different compensation options. The total was $875.00 (not including tip). Even with the deduction they offered us for the damaged item, they still came in under their estimate.

+ -1 moreMoving is never fun but the guys showed up on time and worked with us to load their truck in the most efficient way. Because we were temporally moving into an apartment we had a number of items that were going into storage so it was very important that they get placed in the back of the truck so they could be unloaded first. At the delivery site they checked in with us the night before to let us know they had arrived in Rapid City and scheduled a time to start the next day. They showed up right on time the next day at the storage locker right on time and then moved on to our apartment. We are on the 3rd floor and have no elevator but we got no complaints and were unloaded by noon. After finishing at the apartment we had a few items that needed to go to the storage locker. They took them at no additional charge and no complaining. Also, the home office checked in with us several times to make sure everything was going smoothly.

+ -1 moreWe had a great experience. The first 3 guys showed up in the time frame we were told to expect them. They quickly went to work removing items from the apartment. They were even able to take some things we weren't expecting them to take. When we showed up at the storage unit (packed wall to wall, floor to ceiling) they gave us the option of calling in another truck and worker. The cost was minimal and it made sense given the situation. We didn't feel pressured and were glad they made they made the suggestion. Once we arrived at the new home they listened carefully to where we wanted items placed. They even went the extra mile of moving a refrigerator in to the basement. I would highly recommend them. Our crew was fast, professional, and courteous.
