Description of Work: The cost covered an emergency Saturday night situation as well as the follow-up a few days later to pressure wash our sewer drain and pipe to the street. We have had our drain snaked to the street once before and got the water running and had the start to a big mess in our basement which we cleaned. On our way out on a Saturday night we noticed unfortunately that the drain by our washer was backing up again and when I checked the pipe opening exiting the house I could see the cap had come off and we were dealing with another mess. I called three places and Always Drain was the only one that had an answering service on the weekend that was live. Within 2 hours Rich came to our door and brought in his equipment to see what our issue was. He worked hard for about 2 hours and finally was able to get enough of an opening let the water drain. He also had a camera that could go down the drain to see exactly what our chronic issue was which happens to be roots from trees bushes. Throughout that emergency call Rich was very professional, approachable, and very productive. This is a guy to sticks to the job at hand and does not waste any time. He provided great advice of how we should proceed over the next few days until we could schedule the pressure washing which is needed when dealing with the root issue we had. He was extremely mindful that the Saturday emergency call was a more expensive call so he kept track of that and advised us on every part of the cost from the start and what was of value to do immediately and what could wait. When he came back the following Thursday for the pressure wash it took less than an hour and the process cleaned out our pipes to the street to a 90% opening which on an older Minneapolis lot is great. He provided great advice on going forward how we should maintain our pipe in the future and less major maintenance steps we should use to keep things clear. Again he was very mindful of time and cost. The pressure wash process requires another plumber to be onsite with Rich and that person was as personable and accomodating as Rich as well. The phone service I called both for our emergency and for the follow up pressure wash visit was very responsive as well. I would rather of not had this whole experience but we were extremely happy given the extent of our issue with both the cost and the service!

 + -1 moreI phoned All Ways Drains ( and a few other companies) - all listed on Angie's List. All Ways said that a service man could be at my home the same afternoon. Shockingly to me, he arrived in about 90 minutes. He was professional, experienced and knew what to do. He quickly put the "snake" down my laundry room sink, and it was unclogged in no time - - "mission accomplished." I paid the fee, less the promised 10% discount, which I thought was reasonable and competitive. I was very pleased and would call this company again if / when I have the same problem.
Description of Work: I phoned All Ways Drains to clean out my clogged basement laundry drain. (I have an older home and every 5+ years, regardless of the efforts to "block" the lint from the washing machine escaping the mesh screen, some lint invariably gets through and periodically plugs up the laundry sink drain). Drain cleaning is required to re-open the drain.

 + 0 moreThe plumber's name that worked on my drain was Wes. He came in the house the first time with paperwork and inspection tools. He came down to the basement to look at the clogged floor drain. I used a sump pump to clear the standing water so he could see the drain. He told me what needed to be done in detail and had me sign the paperwork authorizing him to clear the clogged drain. I signed it while he went to his truck to retrieve the snake. He brought the snake downstairs and plugged it in. He changed the bit on the snake to a clogchopper bit. He sent the snake into the drain and clearly identified where the clog was. He used the bit for several minutes before pulling it back up to try another bit. He attached an angled scraper bit and was able to get through the clog. The water was now draining and he spent several minutes running water through the drain and moving the snake through the length of the drain. Wes once again attached the clogchopper bit but was not able to get it through the drain. However, water was clearly flowing and the clog appeared to be gone so he stopped using the snake. He returned the snake to his truck and came back with a drain inspection camera. He moved the camera slowly through the length of the drain making sure there was no damage or remaining clogs. Wes returned the equipment to him truck while I printed the coupon and searched for my checkbook. Wes was very thorough but did not waste time. He appeared to double check everything (especially during the camera inspection) and made sure the drain was working well before he left. I have worked on this drain a number of times in the past. I had a lot of experience and asked a lot of questions. Wes answered every question and appreciated the fact that I was interested in what was going on. I almost called a different company before this one based on a recommendation from someone. That company had horrible reviews on Angie's List so I decided not to. Instead I looked at the ratings for the different drain cleaning services and All Ways stuck out so I took a chance. I'm very happy I did and Angie's List came through again.

 + 0 moreOur floor drain in laundry room backed up so we called All Ways Drains to come out. Wes was the plumber who came out to clean out (snake out) the floor drain. He determined that it was a main drain issue and not the floor drain, so he snaked out the main drain. Our main drain is a bit tough to get at, but he did a GREAT job getting the job done with little to no mess and he answered all of my questions along the way. Since there was no evidence of roots coming out I decided to have a visual inspection done to actually see what was going on down there which was well worth while and very informative. Wes did a very professional job and I would definately have him come back again.
Description of Work: Cleaned out floor drain, main drain and did a visual inspection of main drain.

 + -1 moreCalled Saturday night, person who answered was very professional and polite and scheduled someone to come by Sunday morning at 9 AM. I agreed to pay overtime so it was $150/hr. Started at 942; snake broke at 954. He explained he would likely need to head to his shop to fix the machine. Spent the next 20 minutes trying to use other devices to clear the clog. At 1012 he reconnected the trap and filled the sink. No luck; headed to shop to fix machine. Came back at 1053 and attempted to clear the clog from below, in my garage. About 45 minutes later he called me down to show me the snake was stuck again. In an effort to pull it out, my pipe cracked. We stood and stared at the pipe for a while...I was told a qualified plumber couldn't come till Monday. He left with the snake still in the pipe so I had no kitchen. He was here just under three hours and, without a doubt, spent less than 1 hour cleaning my drain. They charged me $150 for 1/hr. Wasn't worth fighting it, needed to cut my losses. Had to call a friend (is a plumber) to come cut the snake out and apply a temporary fix so I could have water in my kitchen. The guy called me the next day asking when he could come get his machine and asked if I wanted a plumber to come out. I said yes and he said to find the number on the invoice and call to schedule someone to come give a quote. No thanks. I spent $150 to break my kitchen plumbing.

 + -1 moreAfter trying myself for two days to unclog my kitchen drain with chemicals and my own small sewer snake, I finally gave in and checked The List. The drain was almost completely clogged; it would take a hour or more to drain a partially-full sink. I called at 7:15 am and was greeted by a cheerful person. She offered that someone could be out at 9:00 am. It was closer to 10:00 when the plumber got to my house, but I didn't feel that was a long wait, especially since I hadn't expected to get someone out the same day, much less within a few hours. Ernesto was very pleasant and professional. Seeing that the clean-out opening (down in the basement below the kitchen sink) was difficult to access (without me moving some shelves... maybe I'll rearrange them before my next clog) he decided to just go in through the pipe under the sink. Once he started, it wasn't very long before he was done. I was very happy with the job he did and, especially, by how quickly he was able to arrive. He did a much better job of cleaning up after himself than I had done after my own attempts. When I drained the sink after doing dishes later in the day, I was greeted by the sound of water rushing down the drain. It had been months or years since I had heard that. Usually it was just a fast trickle, if I was lucky. I should note that I gave them a B rating because they were Good. (I try to reserve my A's for work above and beyond.) I am very happy with the work and the price and will definitely call All Ways next time I have a drain to unclog. I may even consider trying them for other plumbing work, should the need arise.

Our shower suddenly clogged, and was at the point where almost no water would go down---after a shower, the water was sitting all day before it would get down the drain. Draino and a little snake action did nothing to solve it. I got an appointment for a weekday morning. He was running a bit late, but called before the scheduled time to tell me that, so that was appreciated. The work took almost 2 hours, which was longer than I would have thought, but this was because it required him to get so far into my drain. He used a snake and vaccuum. In the end, he found and removed the clog at 40 feet down. What? We would NEVER have been able to fix that ourselves. I am so glad we called someone professional. The drain runs perfectly now! He was a nice guy with a sense of humor and I think he gave me a very reasonable price for the time--with a discount. We will definitely use this company again. Thank you.

 + -1 moreI called to see if I could get somebody out at some point to clear out a drain. I was in no hurry but to my surprise, they were able to get me in just over an hour after I called. Eric arrived and did an excellent job. He even cleaned up the area afterwards. I am glad to say that I am not longer concerned that my laundry room will flood if I do a load of laundry. A+ in my book and I don't hand those out readily.

Description of Work: I had a clogged kitchen drain. Initial use of the snake proved unsuccessful and so Wes took a checked the plumming in the basement and found the likely problem was in a bad joint. He gave me a couple of options one being much cheaper than the other and it worked. Very professional.

 + -1 moreWhen I called, they were friendly and took the necessary information. My situation wasn't urgent, so we scheduled an appointment a week out. The morning of the appointment, I received a call letting me know he was on his way, and what time to expect him. Once here, he set right to work, and cleaned the floor drain. He verified my problem with the slow drain was resolved, and was able to wrap everything up in just over an hour. I ran a load through my washing machine, and everything works great!
Description of Work: I had a slow floor drain in my laundry room. Running my washing machine would cause my floor drain to back up and clean water would flood the floor. I wasn't able to clear the pipe myself with drano or a normal drain snake.

But, the way my senior client and myself where treated by All Ways Drain deserves comment.I was referred to All Ways Drain by a trusted plumber. I called on behalf of an 85 year old homeowner to have the sewer pipe video taped. A summary of the gaffs I experienced: ~Although the person on the phone said they invoice for jobs, they said they'd need payment upfront for this one because it was a senior ~After a long uncomfortable unnecessary conversation All Ways Drain did finally relent to invoice the homeowner~When the technician got to the house he couldn't find the lock box (located on the front door) and called the 85 year old homeowner sending him into a panic, and he and his family called me wondering why the technician couldn't get in the home .~When I called All Ways Drain to check on the status, they said the technician figured out how to get into the home. I asked if they called the homeowner to confirm, they said they did. The homeowner said he never received a call from All Ways Drain. ~Received an angry call from All Ways Drain yesterday saying they where going to require me (not the homeowner) to pay for the service because their invoice was returned to them in the mail. All this company needs to do is send the invoice to the correct address, and the homeowner will gladly remit payment. This company has received a lot of really good grades on Angie's list, and the homeowner was very happy with the work that was done. But, wow....what a horrible customer service experience.

 + 0 moreThese guys are great! I had a bad sewer back up problem at my house. Wes at All Ways took the time to get the job done right. It was a possibility that I had to replace the whole sewer line from my house to the street. Rather than upsell me on an incredibly expensive job, Wes tried multiple things and was able to get all the roots out of my line. They gave me a price much better than Roto Rooter ever would have, and I was given some helpful tips on things to do in the future to keep the sewer lines as clear as possible. Wes at All Ways was super friendly, professional, punctual, and knowledgable. I have used these guys before, and I will continue to do so.

 + -1 moreCalled 6:30 am and Matt was here within three hours as promised. He called 20 minutes before arrival to notify us that he was coming. He was courteous, cleaned up the areas nicely, snaked the line twice to make sure it was working. Worked with us as we tested it by flushing toilets and running water from sinks. A cleanup cap WHICH HAD BEEN IN PLACE 40 YEARS broke when he removed it. He replaced it at no charge, which was more than fair.
