After what amounted to a mis-communication, Tom came back and finished the sliding door as previously agreed upon. This was quick and he expressed that he was sorry for the previous confusion and delay.

The door replacement was great. Tom did excellent work and took care to put the new door in well. Great price, great workmanship. On the other hand, he forgot who we were several times despite having signed a contract. He also was a no call no show the original day of the installation. When he did come, as mentioned earlier, the work was done quickly and thoroughly. Near the end of this build, he informed us that he was going to reorder a portion of the door because of a factory mistake - and then return to install that piece and the toe lock, neither of which ever happened despite repeated attempts on our end and a huge delay in writing this review - giving an opportunity for this to happen.

We needed to purchase a sliding door and have removal of the old door and installation of the new door done. We were amazed to get such a quality door and service for the price. Tom and his crew were prompt, courteous, professional, and meticulous in their care with our hardwood floors and cleaning up after they were done. They did a perfect job. We could not be more pleased.

Lake Region came at the time promised and finished the job within the 6 hour time frame they said. They were professional and cleaned up the area after they were done. Would highly recommend them to anyone for door replacement.

I really found a winner when I hired Lake Region Home Improvement to install my Patio doors. He and his assistants were very courteous and professional. Payment was after they were installed and I was satisfied was one of the many things that impressed me about the company. Tom Halbur , the owner , made the initial visit and was present for the entire installation. They covered all my floors to protect them from soil and cleaned up everything before they left. Had slight problem with the door after they left and Tom came out the day to fix it. I JUST LOVE MY DOORS !!! My living room looks larger and brighter and my cat can lay on the carpet and watch the birds instead of climbing on a chair. There was nothing negative about my experience with this company.

He also takes all the stress out of the job by doing a great evaluation so that there are no hidden or surprise additional costs. Tom does a complete job when he says he is going to do it. Works fast and makes sure that you are satisfied. His product has lifetime warranty and he is a seasoned contractor in the marketplace who assures he is here if you need anything. We contacted 2 references who also had great experiences in all areas with Lake Region. We plan on using Tom and Lake Region for our window replacement in the spring. I found Lake Region Home Improvement through a Big Deal coupon that I received in my Email. My wife and I were planning on replacing our old patio door some time down the road, but when we heard about the Big Deal, we decided to go ahead and get it done now because the price that Tom quoted us for a high quality patio door by Alside was just too good to wait on. I called Tom for an appointment so that he could come out and give us a cost estimate for replacing our old door. When I met Tom for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised about how friendly, courteous, and professional he was. My wife and I unfortunatley have dealt with many unprofessional contractors over the past couple of years, and we were expecting more of the same. But Tom proved to us that there really are good, honest, contractors out there who are not out to screw people. The door had to be ordered from the manufacturer, which took a couple of weeks. It was custom made for our choice of energy efficiency and color. When the day came to install it, Tom had a helper with him who was also friendly and professional. They worked very hard removing the old patio door, and they made certain that the areas around where the door frame was to be installed was properly insulated and structually sound. Tom pays attention to detail, and he will not leave a job until both he and the customer are totally satisfied with the final project. Tom is a professional who does an excellent job of cleaning up after himself. In fact, the area around the patio door is cleaner now than it was before he started the job! Tom seems to be much harder on himself than the homeowner is. What I mean by that is, his standards for a job well done, are much higher than what the homeowner expects. Tom would not walk away from a job which isn't up to the same standards that he would have in his own home. I was impressed with how detailed he was with making sure that the door frame was perfectly square and plumb, and that the sliding door slid smoothly and closed securely. He made many detailed adjustments and corrections that many contractors wouldn't bother with because they take a lot time to do properly. My wife and I are very satisfied with the patio door, and with the person who installed it.
