I was satisfied with their service. They were responsive to our call, and I felt that they were respectful of my budget. They were efficient, and I would recommend them to others.

Excellent again. Chris asks what exactly we want done to confirm the information on the work order. Looks over the job and explains what he is going to do. If there are options he explains those and asks if we have a preference. Pleasant person, cleans up the wire scraps and chips from drilling. Works quickly. I usually have a couple other unrelated questions such as upgrading to 150 amp service. Chris explains what the options are for doing the work, what the code will require and provides a rough ballpark estimate so we know the general type of costs.
Description of Work: Installed a new outlet for a gas fireplace insert we are having installed. Converted an old 220 volt outlet to 110. Installed an outlet box in workshop.

Technician arrived & the cats let him in (always a good sign). Dryers these days require a monstrous 4-prong outlet, 30amp service, not that wimpy 110 volt of old. (My old dryer was very, very old; it had, uh, rhythm, you could say). So my request was basic: install an outlet. The new dryer is sitting roughly 25 ft., as the crow flies, from the electrical service box. This is important: I forgot that the ceiling in the electrical room is finished. Worse, it's plaster. Not drywall, plaster. Augh. 100-some feet of electrical wiring later, dryer is attached, inspector has approved, and I am doing laundry again. Whenever the inspectors look at work by Anderson Electric, they say, "oooh, ahhhh, nice work." My pocketbook was a little sore this time around, but mostly Anderson's prices are not astronomical. This time I had significant wiring routing costs. The job itself didn't take more than 3 hrs., and as usual, the job site was cleaned up.

Prompt, courteous, neat (Anderson electricians always remove shoes at the door), efficient, and fairly priced work, as we've come to expect from this company. They came out within 24 hours after we called and asked them to come help us install a new (to us) 2nd-hand stove, which is a 2005 model, into our 1970's kitchen. They gave us clear, fair estimates of costs involved in rewiring the kitchen to accommodate a modern 4-prong appliance, versus replacing the stove cord with a 3-prong cord. After some research on the net confirmed that there was no significant risk or hazard in simply replacing the cord, that's what we chose to do.
Description of Work: Removed a 4-prong cord, and grounded and installed our own old (but good) 3-prong cord, to retrofit a new electric range for our old kitchen. Positioned and leveled the stove between existing cupboards.

Fantastic. We had several other companies tell us we would have to do a lot of demolition to get electric access since our lower level is already finished. Mark from Claude Anderson was able to get all 6 canned lights in with one small hole (less than 4") and using an adjacent unfinished area. He finished the work on time and under budget and the lights look great. He was also able to buy lights to match our existing lights which we weren't able to find.

Really well. The electrician came right on time. They squeezed me in at 7:00 am because it was the only day I could be home. It was dark and windy and rainy and I was fully expecting him to call and cancel but he arrived and did the work exactly as planned. The receptionist had estimated 2 hours and that is exactly the amount of time it took.
Description of Work: The electrician installed 2 motion detector lights. One on my front porch and one on my garage. Both locations had existing lights that were up to code. I purchased the lights myself at the local home improvement store so the charge was for installation only. One of the lights had to be switched from a square box to a round box. If I had known this in advance I would have purchased the right shape of light and the time to install and therefore the charge would have been lower.

He did a great job even though we ended up paying more than expected - but that was because the work we requested him to do turned out to be a bigger job than originally anticipated. In addition to the wiring for new appliances, we had quite a bit of wiring in the basement that the home inspector recommended we get 'cleaned up' as it was not up to code. The job ended up being more work than we anticipated but we were very pleased with the work done and feel he did a top notch job.

It didn't go anywhere. I'm still choosing between the other two for my electrical needs.
Description of Work: We wanted to get three bids on our laundry list of electrical issues. I called Claude and asked the person who answered the phone if they did free estimates. She didn't even ask what kind of work I was looking for (install a ceiling fan where there is none, bathroom exhaust fan where there is none, move a light switch, add an outlet and install two bathroom sconces. All in all about $2000 worth of work) She just told me that they find free estimates to be "not cost effective". I understand, but I have a lot of work that needed to be done, and in my Angie's list search this company ranked third for electricians. The first two happily came out and gave me a free estimate. If these two companies can find it to be "cost effective" I think Claude should find a way too. Very disappointed.

Didn't hire this company - their price was about $1,500 more than the company I located (off Angie's List) to perform the service. Before hiring the other guy I sent an email to the woman who emailed the bid to me asking if they would perform the work for the lower bid. I never heard back from the company, which was disappointing. In the future I would call Claud M. Anderson and ask for Chris again. I would also see what their policy is on meeting competitor's prices. I was pretty sad that they never responded to that email.
Description of Work: My house (1940's vintage) needed to be upgraded to 150 service (from 100), the meter needed to be thrown to the outside of the house and a bunch of outlets etc needed to be added to bring it up to code. Chris, from Claude M. Anderson Electric, came over to the house on the very day I bought it. Talk about a great guy. Very knowledgeable, very personable and great common sense. I really enjoyed having him walk me thorough the situation. I had to call him back out to re-evaluate the bid when I realized I provided him some incorrect information re: room size which affects how many outlets the code requires each room to have. Chris was most kind and didn't express any annoyance in having to make a return trip to re-evaluate and adjust the bid. They email their bid which seemed to take a while. Chris performed work for a relative and did a great job. I am disappointed that the bid was just too high.

The firm was easily accessible, Michele, the customer service representative was very helpful in setting up an appointment for an estimate and later scheduling the work. Mark Phillips was the electrician who did the work. He showed up right on time. He installed four Xenon under-cabinets lights by feeding off our overhead recessed lights. After the lights were installed he took a look at some outlets in our basement that were of concern. He promptly found and corrected the outlet that had a loose ground connection affecting several other outlets. Mark is a very personable person and his craftsmanship and professionalism is second to none. We are very pleased with the end results.
Description of Work: We are in the midst of remodeling our kitchen for re-sale. One last detail involved under-cabinet lights. We researched Angie s List and based on the many positive reports by others we selected CLAUDE M ANDERSON ELECTRIC CO INC.
