It went wonderful! They were very professional, helpful. Were always there to give us all the information we needed.

Steve Lemke met with me on site to determine the best combination of a) time to complete, b) total cost of project, and c) quality of materials. When the right balance was determined, the workmanship was never compromised. The Lemkes are patient, direct, and honest. Their experienced crew was courteous, diligent, and friendly throughout the project. Communication was excellent. The project was completed on time, to specification, at the agreed price - Steve Lemke did what he said he would do. It gives my family great pleasure to use the room.

They did an excellent job. They stayed true to their timing. Each step was completed quickly. Very happy with the work. They took care of the permits.

Steve was very professional and spent over an hour discussing the job and suggesting some very interesting additional ideas. He was concerned the finished project be aesthetically pleasing. He brought two photo journals showing some of his previous projects and letters of appreciation from customers. I have no doubt they would have done a great job for us. They were the highest bid we received, but that was not the deciding factor. The faxed proposal was detailed, but not each area of work was separately priced. There were also some items that would have incurred additional cost, including permits. I understood that if we had selected Lemke, we would have received a more detailed bid. I also believe they were very busy at the time as I had to call just to get the faxed bid. That may have been due to them having to get information from their subcontractors.

Jim Metry (estimator) was very responsive and prompt in all communications. His proposal included very nice computer generated drawings, and was exactly as we had discussed. Price came in too high. Highest of all our bids. Over our budget.

He was nice and I would definitely use his services, I've just had to put the project on hold.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY IN ST. PAUL TO INQUIRE ABOUT COMING OUT TO GIVE A FREE ESTIMATE ON AN OLD PORCH THAT NEED REPLACEMENT. THEY WERE RESPONSIVE TO MY CALL AND CALLED BACK TO DISCUSS THE WORK OVER THE PHONE. I DESCRIBED THE PORCH AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD COME OUT AND DO A FREE ESTIMATE. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE WAVERED ABOUT ACTUALLY COMING OUT AND LOOKING AT THE PORCH EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN ST. PAUL. HE WANTED TO ME DO SOME MEASUREMENT AND THEN TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE PORCH AND SEND IT TO HIM. HE THEN ASKED ME TECHNICAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE JOYCE AND RIM JOINTS-- WHICH I DID NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT. IF THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DO FREE ESTIMATE THIS SHOULD BE LISTED ON THEIR MATERIAL. IT FELT LIKE I NEEDED TO DO MORE WORK THAN NECESSARY TO GIVE THIS COMPANY MY BUSINESS.

STEVE LEMKE SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH ME REVIEWING MY OPTIONS. HE HAD A LOT OF GOOD IDEAS AND WAS VERY ENJOYABLE TO WORK WITH. SINCE THE JOB INCLUDED MULTIPLE PROJECTS I.E., DRIVEWAY, DECK, GUTTERS; I WAS INITIALLY CONCERNED ABOUT HOW THE COMPANY WOULD ORCHESTRATE ALL OF THE PIECES AND KEEP THINGS MOVING IN A TIMELY FASHION. IT TURNS OUT, THE PROJECT MANAGER ASSIGNED TO THE JOB (JIM) KEPT EVERYTHING MOVING ON SCHEDULE. THIS COMPANY DID NOT PRESENT THE LOWEST BID, BY FAR, BUT WHAT I PAID OUT IN ADDITIONAL DOLLARS I MADE UP FOR IN QUALITY, TIMELINESS AND PIECE OF MIND THAT EVERYTHING WOULD TIE IN TOGETHER NICELY. ONCE THE JOB WAS COMPLETED, I HAD SEVERAL CONCERNS. LEMKE AND SONS PROMPTLY ADDRESSED THOSE CONCERNS. IN HINDSIGHT, I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE EXPLAINED THE HAVOC THE JOB WAS GOING TO HAVE ON MY LANDSCAPING. HAD I KNOWN, I WOULD HAVE EARMARKED A BIT MORE MONEY FOR LANDSCAPE REPAIRS. OTHER THAN THAT, I AM A HAPPY CUSTOMER AND WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.
