Working with Lee Upholstery was like a breeze. Within a week of their visit to give us an estimate, we had our chair back - and it's beautiful. We love this chair and didn't want to have to replace it. It looks and feels better than ever!

I thought I'd have to get a new sofa, but just couldn't find one that fit out space as well as our old one. Chris and Co. did a great job and in an amazing time frame---no weekend without my sofa! Lee's may not be the cheapest, but they are darn good! I also loved that I could get may fabric else where, taking advantage of a great fabric sale.

Put in a call and was happy to hear that I could purchase my own fabric. Found what I wanted at Joann Fabric for 50% off. Gave a call and Chris Lee picked up the chair and my fabric. You can tell he has a great deal of experience with these vintage pieces of furniture. I got a call on 3/18 that the chair was done and it was delivered. Looks terrific and I couldn't be happier! Now the chair is comfortable to sit on and it looks just beautiful! Thank you Chris Lee!

Save yourself time and go straight to Lee Upholstery--they are fantastic! They did a great job of breathing life into my vintage 1950's couch and chairs...and in just one week! The vinyl was in very bad condition but there were decorative areas that I really liked, so I asked Chris Lee for a bid for repairing the tears and cigarette burns. He assured me that a repair would not hold up due to the location of the burns/tears and the brittle condition of the vinyl. Chris indicated that reupholstering would be a better long-term choice and he suggested using the decorative areas from the old vinyl as accent pieces on the newly recovered couch and chairs. One of the chairs was not a part of the set, but now it appears that way because Chris's idea to use the old vinyl as insets on the newly recovered furniture makes it look like a set. His creativity was the key to maintaining the furniture's unique look and feel, despite the wear and tear. His team also repaired the broken areas on the couch, reglued all other wobbly areas on the couch and chairs, reoiled all the legs and arms of each piece, and adjusted the type and amount of padding in the cushions to make it more comfortable and improve the appearance. I had not even considered doing that and it made a big difference. I still cannot believe they accomplished all of this work in just one week. I don't know if Lee's Upholstery is the cheapest bid, because it is hard to compare their bid with others--all other companies gave me a bid for just repairing the burns and tears. Now I know that just a repair job would have been a complete waste of money because it would not have lasted. Plus, I would not have ended up with a matching set in like-new condition. This company's team of professionals goes above and beyond, and I really appreciate Chris's willingness to suggest an alternate approach that would last longer. He has in-depth knowledge of furniture repair/reupholster, and his crew has real expertise and imagination. They did much more than just a reupholster and repair job, and I feel that I definitely got my money's worth. I forgot to take "before" pictures but I will upload some "after" shots.

The entire experience was excellent. Chris came out and provided not only an estimate but also expertise and knowledge that was very helpful in making decisions. The timing of the services was outstanding - he was able to fit our job into the shop schedule very quickly and the turn around time was phenomenal. The pickup and delivery of the furniture was on time and efficient. The finished product is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The quality and workmanship are exceptional and the customer service is unparalleled. We highly recommend Chris and his staff!

Was pretty spendy - would not have done it but the chairs are 50 years old and family itmes

I picked Lee's Upholstery based on the reviews I read on Angie's List. And everything everyone said was absolutely true. Chris came out and gave us an estimate on reupholstering a 3 cushion Queen Anne couch with tufting. I purchased the fabric online because it was much less expensive than anything I found in the fabric stores- I showed Chris the swatches I had and he said the fabric was fine and a good quality. I ordered two extra yards so I could make throw pillows. He said it would take a week and exactly one week from the time they took the couch away - it was returned. And it is absolutely beautiful! I am so impressed with Chris and his staff regarding responsiveness, skills, service and reasonable price I wish I had something more for him to recover. Unbelievable perfection. The quality is better than anything I could have found brand new. Thank you, Chris, Barb and Lee's Upholstery.

The whole process was painless. I'm very happy with the end results.

I was extremely pleased with the entire experience---from the first day I called til the finished products were delivered. Chris came out a few days after my initial call to discuss my needs. I was very impressed with his professionalism and his knowledge. The biggest obstacle was to find a fabric to use on the chair that needed to be reupholstered. It's in my great room that's decorated in Christmas reds and greens----colors that are not currently in vogue. And I was interested only in reupholstering one chair---not change the fabric in the entire room. I was very pleased that Chris was as concerned about getting an appropriate fabric as I was. He did not try to sell me something that wouldn't fit in; he was happy to wait as long it took to make sure we had the right fabric. Luckily, I found a wonderful fabric in an outlet store, and Chris was perfectly happy to work with it. To tie it into the space, I also had him recover 3 barstools in the same fabric. Chris stopped and picked the items up on a Friday and delivered them back to me a week later. The quality of workmanship is excellent. I will definitely call them again!

They came to my house to take away the chair, and returned wthin two weeks with the finished item. I picked out my own fabric and they did an excellent job of matching the style of the upholstering to the fabric and to the chair design. I am very pleased with the way it turned out!.

The chair was delivered last evening, and it is beyond my expectations. I have 2 other chairs and will use Lee's again.

He suggested a different color and said they could fix it up, we were thinking about tossing the chair. They did an amazing job and did it all in 7 days. They really repaired the chair, put new springs in and shined up the wood. It's like a whole new chair. You can't ask for better service. They came and picked it up, had so many materials and options, did a great job, and delivered it back to us on time.

It was a good experience. They were able to coordinate their pickup and delivery with our move; in other words, they picked up from one house and dropped off at another. I am delighted with the way it looks. I thought that the representative that came out to look at our furniture was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He made some suggestions about changing the style rather than just copying the original.

I chose to reupholster rather than buy a new chair because I could have a better choice of fabric and because most of my expenses would stay in the community. I found Lee upholstering on Angie's list and he was nearby. Chris came the day after I called and brought fabric samples and picked up the chair. A week later, it was delivered but before it even made it into the house, the delivery men told me that a part of the fabric had ripped when the back section of the chair was slid into the seat of the chair. The repair was fixed and returned to me within a day or two. There is a back panel that hid the innards of the chair that had a loose nail and Chris came the next day to fix it. I have also had to fix the nail--it doesn't stay in the frame but this is a problem with the original design/ construction and not an upholstery issue. While at my home Chris gave me some good information like how to tell what a well constructed sofa or chair would look like and he also gave me a good reference for a company which would fix a wooden sofa frame.

Chris came to my home on the arranged date and on time. All of the work was done within one week. He was kind enough to be speedy and returned chairs and/or cushions the next day. I had asked for more height in the cushions as they had worn down. He brought them to me and asked how I felt about them. I tried them out that evening and when he returned the next day I said I felt there was a little too much stuffing in the McGuire cushions. He took them back to his shop and returned them the next morning to have me "try them out". I was very pleased. He took some of the stuffing out and took $10.00 off the bill. He always called in the morning to tell me when he would be here - and he was ALWAYS on time. He was courteous, skilled and he guarnatees his work. What a joy to work with someone like that.

Everything happened as we hoped it would.

I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for some work I needed done to a sofa and chair. When they suggested between 11am and noon, I said I had another company coming out to take a look between 10am and noon, they said they would call ahead. At about a quarter to noon on the appointed day, I got nervous not having heard anything so I called them. I was asked to describe the work, asked what the other company had recommended, told the cost would probably be pretty high (though I had not fully described the extent of the damage to the sofa and chair from our pets), and then that I was pretty far away and outside of their service area. I live in St. Louis Park right where it borders Minneapolis; their listing states that they service the entire Twin Cities area. I was surprised given the other reviews here. They may do good work, but I would have appreciated being told upfront that they did not service my area (or did not want to submit a competing bid for the work).

They arrived on time to do an estimate onsite, as well as (different day) to pick-up the chairs to be re-upholstered. They were great about providing advice regarding what types of fabrics would perform and hold up best for our situation. The job was completed on time and the chairs were delivered back to us looking great (they have held up very well since). We have recommended Lee's to several other families.

I called and the person I spoke to arranged to come out that day and look at the chairs. He arrived about 20 minutes earlier than I anticipated. He told me what needed to be done, and I was in agreement, as the chairs had lost their support over the years. He had numerous samples of fabric, and was careful to only show me those that wear well and are easy to care for. He told me he would add a bead along the edge, but didn't after all, which was fine with me, because I didn't think it would go with the style. I chose one and he took the seats off the chairs and brought them to the shop. They called 5 days later and arranged a time the next day to deliver the seats and install them. The installer arrived a little late, and seemed a bit unsure, asking me if I wanted him to put the seats on. It took a while, and I helped, because he was not that great with a screwdriver... The upholstery is lovely, beautifully finished, and the chairs are comfortable and supportive again. I was most impressed with the speed of service, especially at this time of year, that I could have the whole job complete in under one week.

I had my own material in both instances. I used this company before I had Angie's List but this company was recommended to me by a friend. The work quality was O.K. but the price was great and they are very accommodating.

My experience went relatively well. They came and picked up the chisels and they reupholstered and we got it back actually little bit early which was nice. They delivered it and we had no problems. They were prompt and friendly.

Chris was at our house exactly when he said he would be. He brought fabric samples and gave us a price. He answered al our questions and we gave him the chairs that night. They were ready within a week and were delivered on time by two young men who were pleasant and professional. The chairs looked great. We were very satisfied. Price a little on the high end, but you get what you pay for. The work is wonderful.

They were prompt in coming to give the estimate and then in picking up and dropping off the piece. The work was done quickly and professionally and you really couldn't tell when the piece had been completed that it had been repaired.
