KITCHENS MADE SIMPLE

It was OK, but other designers did a much better job. They lacked originality. It was nice that they were concerned about cost, maybe too concerned, and they cut too much away, resulting in a dull, unimaginative design. We never got to final cost because I wasn't interested in their design and they never followed up with me. So it appears they weren't interested in me either.

It turned out okay and it was fine. We did not go with them. We just were not quite ready to spend that much money on a kitchen yet. The offer was good. He gave us some 3D layouts of the kitchen. It was what I expected. It was done on computer so they gave me a description of what it could be. I was happy with it, but I was not overwhelmed. I hoping for some great ideas and that did not happen. We spent a couple of hours with them. I would use them again.

Everyone was very nice and very professional. They were high on my list of contractors right to the very end. Their bid was higher than the outfit I ultimately used (someone I have worked with before), but it was in line with bids from other contractors. I gave a "B" for the cost of the service because I had several contractors that provided detailed bids for no cost. The drawing was very basic, and could not be used by others--it was not a 3-D rendering of what the room might look like, which is what I expected.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was excellent. We met with them twice for the design and it turned out really well.

Through a fall special offer on Angie's list we purchased an individualized kitchen remodel plan that included a home visit from the company salesman to see and measure our space, and an in-store visit with the designer to go over and modify computerized plans for our space. We had some difficulty finding a mutually convenient date for the home visit. The salesman was personable but his measurements were not taken with precision. So, of course the designer's work was also not a precise fit for our space. The designer did a rework of the plan with measurements we later took ourselves and sent us a revised plan. This experience helped us better understand what some possibilities for our kitchen might be. It did not connect us with a team that we would hire or recommend.

The preliminary designs given to us were a joke --- designs look like a cut and paste job, most structural elements were inaccurate, i.e. the proposed door to room is where the stairs are (impossible to do this). After I told them that the drawings are so inaccurate and do not even represent what we wanted to do and that we were concerned about quality, KMS told me that they do not want to work with us. Very unprofessional. I attached the drawing to this review. Picture is worth a thousand words.

They came to my house and spent 2 hours measuring and taking pictures of my kitchen. Then, they took all of that back to their computer and designed a new kitchen via computer program. All of this happened in under 2 weeks.

Provided remodel design options for our kitchen. Had hoped their design sense and would be a bit better, but maybe you get what you pay for in that regard. Price was great, but I felt the value wasn't much there.

My husband and I were total renovation virgins and had no clue where to begin to redesign our awkward and ugly kitchen. Our home was built in 1947 and came with a lot of character and a lot of "projects". After purchasing a design deal on Angie's list, we called KMS and set up an initial appointment for Charles to come out and get some measurements and have an initial discussion of what our challenges were. Charles was great - he was able to come in and immediately see the potential in a space that we had completely given up on and he also gave us some ideas on things that we could do ourselves to keep the cost of the renovation down. Next, we met with Jaqlyn to review her initial design and get a better understanding of the cost by line item. Her initial design was amazing - she made our tiny, cramped kitchen look spacious and organized - and it stayed true to the period of the home which was really important to us. After a few discussions and some minor tweaks and changes we were able to finalized the design. Jaqlyn was SO patient with us and never seemed annoyed with the frequent phone calls for changes. Once we had settled on the design we got the quote for cost - and it came in over our budget and for a moment we thought all hope was gone, but Jaqlyn and Charles had a back up plan for us that satisfied all of our needs and met our budget. KMS was so great to work with during design that we couldn't imagine not having them not doing the renovation so we decided to proceed with KMS to perform the work. After about 4 weeks, Doug reached out to us to meet and go over the renovation timeline, what we should expect and to do a walk through of the site. His team started the following Monday with demo and things were underway. I can't say enough good things about Doug and his team. They were on time, very professional and treated my home with the care in which they would treat their own. Doug was onsite frequently and really made sure that the team delivered quality that he felt comfortable putting the KMS name behind. We ordered laminate counter tops which were built onsite and looked great - except for the color variation that happened at the seem right under the pendulum light at the sink. When we brought this to Doug's attention he immediately set forth to fix it - he had the counter top guy come back in and redo the section in order to find a better color match. Talk about amazing customer service! We were SO impressed and pleased that we had found a company that treated each kitchen as if it were there own, and that not only customer satisfaction was important, but that the job was done right was important as well. So cool! Overall, KMS completed the job ahead of schedule and on budget - and very professionally! We will definitely use them again when it comes time to remodel the bathroom!

Purchased big deal and agent came out and measured kitchen. Within a week or so, I met at their office to review the recommendations for a kitchen remodel. Pictures were sent to me, also. At the office, I saw examples of cupboards, counter tops, etc. Quality and selection options were great! |Due to an unanticipated change in the health of a parent, all our hoped-for plans are on hold! This company provided excellent ideas - but we currently are short on cash!

It was as if she was tired and had checked out for the day. I could have done the same thing with an online resource and actually came in with most all the information -- no value add at all. A few of the concepts wouldn't even be functional (cabinets that wouldn't open given their placement). No printout -- no follow-up. A total waste of time and money.

I called and she said they mainly did kitchens with bathrooms. At first I felt my job wouldn't be big enough until I told her I was doing my entire lower level. I was kind of turned off by having to go to their showroom to get my design. I do not like high pressure salespeople and already have my vanity installed. It just didn't feel like a good fit for my needs.

Kitchens Made Simple did an excellent job! They contacted me promptly for an appointment and were on time and prepared. They took photographs, listened to what I liked/didn't like, and made some great suggestions. I met with a designer, Kay, within a week who was very willing to work around my schedule. Kay and I talked at length about the issues I had with my current kitchen which was poorly designed by the original contractor and needed updating. Kay helped solve my storage issues, gave me ideas to improve the layout and design, and provided a rendering of the new kitchen within another week. She also gave me the website of Houzz so I could see some designs to help me direct her in the style of kitchen that I wanted. The plans were given to me after our second meeting and I couldn't be happier! I am really looking forward to this winter when the kitchen will get completely gutted and the new one is put in.

On the day of the home visit, he called to say he was running late, which was fine with my schedule. Once he arrived, he spent as much time as I wanted to answer all my questions. He carefully measured and drew the room dimensions. At the office visit, I met with the designer, who had made a remodeling plan. I was not interested in some of the ideas she had, and she spent time redoing the plan, incorporating my needs. I did not use this company to preform the remodeling because the scope of the work needing to be done in the house was more than the kitchen. However, they did provide some good ideas.

The final design looked amazing. I was provided with both anover-head view of the kitchen layout and pictures of the view from many angles. My designer had a lot of experience in kitchen design. She used her expertise to suggest details that I would not have thought of on my own - counter depth refrigerator, replacing the breakfast nook with a pantry, using taller cabinets in my small kitchen, etc. The final result was amazing.

I think it went well. The results were worth the cost. Our desires are outside our budget, however.

They were excellent at keeping me informed about getting an appointment set up. Their location is in a small strip mall (gas station out front), just a little ways off of 35E. The person who worked with me used a computer program that she seemed pretty familiar with, but I got the impression she may have been new at it, OR the program she used had a slow response time. She had good ideas and was very responsive to what I wanted to put where in my kitchen; I could see what would fit in a space and what would not, which was very valuable. There was a lot of activity at the desk behind her that was kind of distracting, but then it was nice to be out in the middle of the area where they had sample kitchens set up in different styles (about 7 or so). I think they used all Schrock cabinets, but they may have had others they could order for you. I think they would be very good for all kitchen remodelling services--so I check their prices and compare, they seemed to be an up and coming company. P.S. Your coffee offer worked on me!

We met with the designer 2 times and someone came out and measured our space prior to our first appointment. The experience did not meet our expectations in a number of different ways. 1. We had great difficulty scheduling our first appointment. It ended up being about 6 weeks after our initial call. 2. We were upfront with what our budget was. We met with the designer for a couple of hours to talk about our needs, our space, our lifestyle, etc. We asked that the plan and proposed budget be emailed to us prior to our next meeting, so we could review it, think about it, come up with questions, etc. prior to our next meeting. We did not receive it as promised. We called the store 3 times before someone finally emailed it to us. It did not include the budget. 3. The plan did not reflect the conversation we had about what we wanted. When we went to the in-person meeting we discussed the fact that the plan did not reflect what we wanted. We also asked for the budget for the plan that was presented to us. The budget was 2.5 times what we had said we would like to spend. We completely re-did the plan with the designer during this meeting. 4. We chose to go with someone else as the contractor and did not use the plan developed by this designer. Mostly because we felt the designer did not listen to want we wanted. We felt our inability to get "on the same page" at this early stage of the renovation was not a good sign of our ability to work with this company to complete our kitchen. 5. Our kitchen is done and we LOVE it!

The project started in late march and went until early May. The project lost a couple weeks when the one of the subs had a delay but other than that the project went smoothly. That's not to say there were not a few challenges but Charles, Doug, Kay , Tim and all the subs worked hard to deliver excellent results and make sure all issues were handled to our satisfaction. We were impressed with each sub contractor from painting, flooring, electrical, carpentry, etc. very professional and skilled. Overall a very positive experience , KMS took all the time we needed to answer questions and work through any of our concerns. We love the way our kitchen turned out !

Purchased Angies list deal for plan for bathroom remodel. They came out and took measurements of room and discussed preferences and options. About 2 weeks after I met with designer at their office to make some choices of materials,cabinets etc. and then met again a week later to view and go through estimae of costs and discuss in more detail. I may or may not go through with this. I thought prices were a little high in some areas but felt they were willing to look for ways to work within my budget. Everyone I met with was professional and did a good job of answering my questions and explaining the process and timelines. Even if I do not complete this project in the near future, it is very helpful to have the drawings and expertise I received for the money

It was great, people are good to deal with.

Someone came in and took measurements and pictures of my kitchen. I went to their office at a later date, sat down at a computer with a designer, and she showed me some ideas for my new kitchen. The people were all very nice. If you know what you want, I'd highly recommend them. I did not have a good idea of what I wanted or what would work. There are a couple issues with my kitchen. I may hire a designer to come out and give me advice because I feel I could use more help.

They were okay. We just used them for the design. We didn't like what they came up with. We just paid for the big deal purchase. They had us come in to their showroom to show us what they came up with. The guy who came out and measured was really nice and he had some ideas. But the lady that we went in and met with who was the actual designer. She didn't really come up with anything. She pretty much had the same as where we had it and just threw our cabinets up. I would not use them again in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I like service as far as the design. They did a nice design job. I was happy with the plans because they were able to do this online and so we could tweak it easily. I used another company where everything had to be drawn out by hand and then you had to pay more if you wanted changes made. I wasn't happy with their measurements on the cabinetry. They actually mismeasured so there was a lot of redo work and that really was not good. They were very helpful and fixed everything that they did wrong. They were good in a lot of things. The price was average. It was pricey but it was good. The quality of their measuring was terrible but the quality of their installation was excellent. The installer was absolutely excellent.

Prompt, knowledgable, creative hour. I only contracted for design service.
