KITCHENS MADE SIMPLE

My initial contact was to have my kitchen measured. The gentleman who came to do that was courteous and took accurate measurements and plenty of photos. I then had two design consultations with Jaqlyn. She answered all of my questions, spent quite a bit of time with me and provided a very workable design. I enjoyed working with her very much. Beyond the offer on Angie's list which was for the design and computer renderings, I considered having KMS do the remodel of my kitchen. I am now considering options for custom cabinetry instead. However, if I do choose stock cabinetry, KMS would be my choice. I have confidence in their integrity based on my interactions so far and would expect them to deliver what would be promised. The only glitch in my contacts with them was that they are located in Roseville and I live in a southern suburb. The drive was a detractor to me.

We gave them our budget, they came and measure - and then we started with the design process. I loved every minute of it! The actual construction of the project was great - the project manager is very hands on and kept us up to date all the time. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this company. We are going to use them again for some cabinets in our basement.

The rendering was done as promised. Didn't feel they "listened" to what we wanted them to do. Too many people involved in what we needed. Had to tell them each time what we wanted. Would have preferred to work with just 1 person,

It went fine. I had drain tile installed (large project) and am still in the decision making process on the kitchen - another large project. I went to FL for a good deal of the winter and all projects were put on hold. I did go to the showroom which is across town which I did not really care for. It is hard to imagine my space while in KMS office.

This was for our Kitchen. The design renderings were for opening up our kitchen to provide us with more space. We had them do the work. The employee who came out to do the design was a nice guy. He came out and took measurements and talked about what we wanted. He took those back to his office and turned it over to one of his designers. We decided to go with them for the remodel. They worked with us, because we didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Their carpenter, I really liked him and he did a nice job. The job took about a month to complete. The demolition portion there was a project manager and an employee and that took about 3 days. Then they were able to do patch work on the walls. We also had some electrical and plumbing work done that this company contracted out. The carpenter and one other employee completed the work. The one thing I was a little disappointed in, was the follow up. I wished they would have checked back with us. Also, I wished there was a little more discussion with the design. We had spoken with one of their employees and then she had left due to employee leave. We were then given another employee and we feel like the design for the cabinets/drawers fell through the cracks. I would have appreciated more advice with the limits to the design.

We were looking to remove a wall and do a kitchen remodel. We did not have chose them for a couple of reasons - 1) Their bid was very high. 2) They did not listen and therefor did not add into the bid a support beam for the wall that was removed. The wall was load bearing and therefore the need for a beam and the type of beam needed played heavily into the finished design.

We didn’t use them for doing the work. It was just too costly for us. They seemed to be very knowledgeable. Everything seemed to be in line and their selections were actually very good. The design was pretty much right on based on what we needed. They were pretty much in line with those that did kitchen. They were professional service and were on contract works. Pretty much everything was done in their office except for the guy coming out and finding out what we were interested in and getting measurements.

The design and meeting went well, and they were easy to work with. However, at the time of the plan we weren't quite ready to move forward with the project.

First off, I think this is a good small company that was overwhelmed by the Big Deal listing, and their key employee (the consultant who comes to the house) quit. So this process took almost two months from the time I bought the Deal and had my results. Second, I think the write-up of the Deal misrepresents what this company does. Or at least was able or willing to do for me. I wanted a full kitchen redesign, keeping one wall of existing cabinets, and adding more counter space. I left with a drawing of my kitchen just as it is but with all new cabinets plus a wall of even more new cabinets. Nothing about tile, lighting, plumbing, appliances. When I asked about modifying or eliminating a wall they said that was "too expensive" and that kind if design costs more. It was a total miscommunication.

They did a fine job. Their performance was also fine.

We will be meeting with the designer soon, and are anxious to see the ideas.

When I said that I was looking at just refacing the cabinet doors they said they do remodels by complete demolition. They don't do refacing. They suggested I request a refund. They said fulfilling the Big Deal would be cost prohibitive for them.

It was fine. They were only involved in the purchase of the cabinets. They were excellent. Everything was excellent.

the process worked well - we wer enot looking to remodel at the time - we wanted to do a long term plan on remodeling our home. They provided a great service with pictures, pricing and offered alot of good suggestions.

A gentleman came out and did measurements. He was very punctual and professional. He gave me a questionnaire to fill out as well. I received a call from them a week ago, stating that they would not be doing the design for me, because I might not use them for the work. I just wanted a design, and am not ready to commit to who I will hire for the actual work. Nothing in the fine print of the deal says that I have to agree to that. I had a nice conversation with the owner yesterday. I let him know that I was very disappointed with the situation. He said that they were very busy, and were only taking customers that would use them for all of the work. I would not recommend this company just because of this experience.

We got the remodeling bug after visiting the spring home show. We used Angie?s List to find local kitchen remodelers. After talking with several remodelers about our plans we were most impressed by the willingness of the people at KMS to work with us and not push only their ideas. We met with Jaqlyn on numerous occasions over a period of months as we educated ourselves and decided what we wanted in our new kitchen. Jaqlyn was always very pleasant and willing to rework the plans as needed by our design decisions. Once the design was finalized and the cabinets ordered, Doug outlined the remodeling schedule. The only deviations from the schedule were the result of structural problems discovered during the demolition phase that needed addressing and some incorrect items shipped by the cabinet company that needed to be reordered. Doug, Rob and Jaqlyn worked hard to get the hiccups addressed in a timely fashion. We are very happy with the professionalism and high quality of work of all the KMS staff. The subcontractors they used also did very good work, especially Dana who installed the new countertop. We are very happy with our new kitchen and highly recommend the team at KMS.

It went well at first, very nice and got us on track with initial design. We were told that they were supposed to work with us until we were satisfied with our design, and I think that they would have, but the person working on it quit or was let go.... Several weeks later we were notified and asked if they could help us, but by then we had gone elsewhere to finish the design. Kind of disappointed!

They came out to look at the master bathroom and drew up a plan; they were very cordial. they werr supposed to get back with us on a price on our Master Bath, but we have yet to hear from them. We liked the plan - they were able to work with what we wanted going into the project. They showed us on the computer what it'd look like. It wasn't as detailed as what we'd hoped but it gave us a good idea (dimension-wise) of what we were thinking about. We were also able to make a few changes, and we liked the flexibility. We're very anxious to hear from them about an estimate! It's been over four weeks, and we're disappointed that we haven't heard from them sooner.

They called me right away and we set up a time. Charles came out and took the measurements. He was very professional and fun to talk to. It's gone really good so far. We set up an appointment for us to go out and talk about things we were thinking of for the design. We have been looking at wood samples and counter top samples and the responsiveness has been wonderful. We are still working with this company as there are many decisions to be made. They are great at bringing up ideas for the kitchen that I would not have thought of. There are so many options and they are great at presenting those.

Very professional, easy to work with. The plans KMS developed were over my budget though.

From design to final completion these guys were awesome. They showed up when they said they would, they were very friendly and they worked in our home almost daily for 5 months. Excellent design ideas that have dramatically improved our kitchen and master bath space. When we did encounter problems (this was a major remodel and there is bound to be something) they took care of it immediately and were extremely fair about all situations. We interviewed 7 companies and we think we chose the best one.

The people were very polite and accommodating. They gave great advise on what would work and what wouldn't. We have not met with them to determine the cost, so I was unable to answer that question accurately.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I really liked the design that they came up with because I don't have a lot of storage. They were going to put in a lot of cupboards so I would have a lot more storage. I was going to go ahead with the kitchen but I have some issues with my plumbing that I'm going to have to take care of first. I didn't pay any additional. They came out as soon as I called. The owner did all the measuring. The experience was positive. I went over to their office after they had the renderings all done. We discussed rearranging where the refrigerator would be as compared to where it is now and the cost and style of cabinets and countertops. I would recommend them. It seemed kind of expensive but I've never done a kitchen remodel. I made some changes and I was over my budget.

KMS did a wonderful job with my kitchen remodel! Everyone was so pleasant. I was so pleased with Charles and Jaqlyn as they worked very well with my tight budget and allowed some of the work to be done by my family. Jaqlyn was so patient and offered some good suggestions.Their project manager Doug was very flexible and easy to work with. There was a minor measurement mistake with one of my cabinets and after offering me a few options he corrected it with no issues. I have future projects and I will hire KMS again.

Great service. Lots of good information for us to use in making a decision on our remodeling project.
