Description of Work: Jim replaced two toilets (cost of service includes the cost of the toilets); replaced a bathroom vanity sinktop and faucet (I purchased the sink and faucet); and installed two new water shut-off valves. | |He did a great job with the work and was very professional. His cost was approximately one-third of an outrageous bid that I got from another plumber in the neighborhood. | |The only issue was that he is a sole proprietor and is very busy, so communications were a bit slow at first and it took a while to nail down a date when both of us were available (I have a busy job myself). | |If you aren't in a huge rush he does very good work at a reasonable price.

Description of Work: Angie's List special for $99 got us two outside faucets as well as two new shut-off valves. Took approx. 1.5 hours. Originally I called Jim to replace a main valve but he did not respond back to me.

Description of Work: Replaced old laundry room sink. I wanted something less functional and more decorative and i wanted to purchase the faucet. He called and said he thought he could do it early the following week. He gave no definite day or time. On Tues he called my cell phone stating he was on his way! I had to leave work and meet him at my house. After discussing what I wanted and paying him, I gave instructions to close up the house when he was done. I went back to work and was pulled into a meeting. When I came out hours later, I had a message that he was locked out of the house. He agreed to come to my office to get a key. I was having a difficult day having already dropped everything and being out of the office for almost 2 hours. When I got home, I found out he had let my cat outside, when I had told him to watch so she wouldn't get out. Then the faucet he installed was ugly brass and had no aeriator so the water sprays out and I can get wet if i am not careful. Which was one reason I needed a replacement in the first place. I should call him and have him make it right but I just don't want to deal with him again.

Response from Jim Morrison Plumbing Inc
When Angies List contacted me about participating in the Big Deal, I informed them that our drain cleaning services are done on a subcontract basis, and we could not offer drain cleaning services with the Big Deal. Inexplicably, Angies List forgot to include this detail in our initial ad. This customer bought the Big Deal, only to find out after the fact that he would not get drain cleaning services In spite of the fact that Angies List rectified the problem reimbursing the customer and changing the ad, the customer still submitted this review?

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was excellent. He was prompt, courteous and clean. He did it all and explained what he did. I paid an additional $55 for parts over and above the $99 Big Deal coupon. He was scheduled to come out a week before but was unable to do that. He called, apologized and was flexible in arranging another time to come out.
Description of Work: I used Jim Morrison Plumbing to replace an outside spigot and put in a new frost-free spigot. He also tinkered with and fixed a shower drain that was not fitting right.

Upstairs master bathroom was leaking to the main floor sitting room. Various people said that it was the drain and that the ceiling had to be cut out. But NO ONE (Including I) thought about looking at the plumbing or even the shower facet. Jim investigated for about 2 hours and finally found the problem. Next day he came in and within an hour fixed the problem. So for a total of 3 hrs and $250 he solved the problem that many quoted north of $800?I?m glad I used Jim. I am now having Jim work on my basement bathroom.

Since we were remodeling, the plumbing needed to be done in stages based on what we were ready to have done. Jim was flexible in working around our schedule and made extra trips to ensure that we stayed on track with completing the different rooms. Jim is a straightforward, honest, and practical man. He is a truly small family business, very ethical in obtaining permits and inspections, very reasonable rates. He is now working on our second and third rehab project, and it feels more he is our partner than a service provider. We enjoy him personally, like him as a person, and are very pleased with the work he has done.
Description of Work: We were remodeling a house that had been foreclosed and needed a lot of cosmetic work. Jim re-did the plumbing in the bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) and kitchen (sink, dishwasher hookup), as well as bringing some miscellaneous items up to code in the basement.

It went better than expected. I called Jim at 10:00 a.m. shortly after my existing water heater started overflowing hot water in my basement and Jim immediately reworked his schedule, bought a new water heater and installed it the same day. Jim also did not take advantage of the situation and charge a premium. We are very grateful and will gladly use his services again and recommend him.

Jim was very personable and worked through a lot of obstacles throughout the big renovation we had. We got a new water heater installed by him. Because of the renovation at the same time, he had to put the complicated flue which created a problem but he came back in timely manner to fix the it.

The work he did was average. We had asked them to not damage the dry wall much but when we saw there was a pretty much mess there. We had to call the dry wall person after that to patch it up. Other than that the work he did was good. We did not have any more leaks. I would probably not use them again in the future. He did show up when he said he would be coming.

The water in our tub would turn on, but suddenly the faucet became stripped and we couldn't get it to turn off. We had to shut off the water to the house, and I called a handyman company to do the repair. They said this was beyond them and called Jim Morrison Plumbing for us. Jim called immediately and came out right away. He explained that the previous homeowner had installed faucets that were incompatible with the stem, and that's what caused it to strip. He repaired the stripped stems, and recommended a place for us to get new faucets, then even called them to confirm that they had what I wanted.
