Mr. Dalum did prompt, excellent work at a very reasonable rate for an after hours emergency call. We were very pleased with the service and will not hesitate to hire him again for future work.

Jay was the most professional and easy to do business with tradesman I have ever dealt with. WOW! Can't say enough nice things. Very punctual, finished the job when he said he would. I highly recommend this company if you ever need any electrical work. Will definitely use him again should any future projects come up.

We had a great experience with Jay Dalum 2 years ago when we moved into our house, so we hired him again to add a few more outlets. Our house is from the 1870's, so it has some of the typical challenges like knob & tube wiring, old style construction, etc. Jay came over quickly to look at what we wanted and give us a quote. He was very helpful in making suggestions about where to locate the outdoor outlets and their indoor switches. Just like last time, I soon received a clear, detailed quote in my email that carefully laid out the proposed work. Jay showed up promptly to do the work and finished quickly. He took great care not to make any mess in our living room, carefully covering the rug and piano before inspecting the ceiling fan. As always, Jay took the time to show me everything he did and explain it. I always appreciate his helpfulness: while he was outside, he tacked up my loose antenna cable without being asked.

We purchased an old house from the 1870's and the inspector noticed quite a few things wrong with the wiring: missing grounds, reversed polarity, knob and tube, etc. The old 60 amp panel was completely full, with no room even for a new garbage disposal. We found Jay Dalum on Angie's list, and he came out the day after I called him. He was very friendly, offered great suggestions, and never pressured me to add options. We replaced the electrical service with a 200 amp panel so we would have room for future expansion. Jay added quite a few new circuits, receptacles, and light fixtures, as well. I found him to be trustworthy and competent. Jay arrived promptly and completely his work quickly, taking the time to explain everything he did and answer my questions. He labeled everything clearly and went above and beyond by neatly re-running other basement wiring that was beyond the scope of his work.

They showed up on time and completed. I was pleased with the service however I thought it was unual that they did not give me a receipt.

Jay made time to do this urgent project the day I called. He pointed out some additional issues that would have been a problem in my upcoming home sale inspection. He was VERY helpful, very nice, and did a great job!

I called Dalum Electric on New Year's Eve after finding him on Angie's List. I had purchased the Nest Protect as an Xmas gift for my wife (don't snort; she's an über geek who loves gadgets). I assumed he'd call back in a few days, and we'd schedule a time for installation. To my shock, he called me in less than an hour! He asked if we were busy that night. I said no, as we're not huge party people. He responded that he could do it in a few hours. When he arrived, everything was as perfect as I could ask. Jay was courteous, professional and fast. He had the Nest Protect installed in under 15 minutes. He said, "Well, as long as I'm here, is there anything else I could do?" And in fact there were some light switches that we'd like to have re-wired to make logical sense. He did them all, and never even suggested we needed to pay him more. Since then, we have called him for several more Nest installations, and he is now our electrician of choice!

Jay did a great job! He was very effieicent and offered his professional advice on some old outlets that needed to be replaced. His work was very fairly priced. We would definitely use Dalum's Electric again

Have used Dalum's in the past and that is why we hired him again. Jay (Owner) is a true craftsman and listens to his customers. We had an issue where the kitchen electrical connection/box was not close to being centered over an island. Conventional way to move that box would be to rip open the ceiling but Jay found a way to only make one hole and was able to move the box! We also needed two other fixtures installed elsewhere in the house. We had an appointment for 9:00 am and Jay pulled into my driveway at 8:59! First thing done was to prep the work area, plastic and drop clothes were laid down not only in the work area but anywhere Jay would need to walk, such as to the entrance to go in and out for materials/tools. Highly recommend!

Jay is the best! We were very happy. He worked long hours to get job done, answered our endless questions and advised us on several other issues we had around our house with electrical. We will be having him back out to do some outdoor lights.

The work done exceeded my high expectations. Jay is prompt, professional, and leaves no trace of his project, other than the meticulously installed electrical hardware.

I called Jay because I noticed an alarming burning smell coming from the outlet under our kitchen sink where our dishwasher is plugged in. Jay happened to be in the area and was able to come the same morning I called. He quickly discovered the problem, explained what needed to be done and meticulously replaced the required parts. He was very professional and I would definitely hire Jay again.

We hired Jay to install new can (recessed) lights in a room. The old ones were 20 years old and had been poorly installed when the house was built, e.g., leaking, rust, etc. Jay installed new lights, put in additional insulation, and dimmer switches. Jay was very professional with performing these services. His bid was fair, and he worked thoroughly and quickly, especially given that he had to obtain different lights than planned. We had planned on him only performing that task, but he did such a great job that we asked if he could install an outside porch light as well. He did so, and let us know it would save us a house call to do it at another time. We will definitely consider hiring Jay for future electrical work.

I've needed some wiring done (new phone jack) for a while, and actually had two electricians just not call me back. I called Jay yesterday and he was able to come today. He was punctual, professional, and did an excellent job. Would definitely use him again.

First, he laid down tarps to protect floors in the work area. He had to climb into the attic so covered a nearby wall with a plastic sheet. He cleaned up after completing the work and anything that was moved, he put back in place. He spent a great deal of time getting the work done, but only charged the original amount estimated (he gives free estimates). I even questioned if he was charging enough for the work performed and time spent, but he stuck to his estimate. He explained how the dryer vent should be connected and recommended what parts to buy. He arranged for the inspector to come within 24 hours and called me well in advance to let me know the time frame. Jay was very courteous and considerate, and I would recommend his services.

Jay answered my call and when asked about his availability, he replied if 1:00 today would work. One o'clock sharp and he pulled into my driveway. Jay is a great guy, friendly, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable. He took time to do his work and alerted me to problems he encountered during his work. They were easily remedied. I asked Jay about a future repair in a bathroom and received an instant quote of which I will be having him back out to do. I called three electricians today, the first two either had no idea when they could help me and wanted me to call them back later in the week or they could not get their computers to work to give me an answer. Dalum had instant answers and this is the kind of contractor I choose to deal with! Highly recommend. Oh, and I totally forgot about a discount for being an Angie's list member, Jay didn't forget however and applied same.

Very careful, good communicater, had lots of good ideas on lighting options, extremely trustworthy and nice guy.

Not only did what he bid, but was very patient with us when we requested more. He was very willing to help out with whatever we needed. Even non-electrical tasks that just required an extra hand :) He was a VERY nice and concience guy.

Jay was very professional, right on time, and extremely thorough!! We were pleased that he went above and beyond what we asked of him, fixing a few things that could've been potential hazards - all the while keeping the cost in mind and low. He was also great about explaining the issues, the fixes and educating us on electrical knowledge with regards to our house!! PLUS - he even asked for a broom and dustpan because he wanted to clean up after himself - now that's service!!! We will definitely use him again when we have an electrical issue or need.

He added overhead and recesses lights to our kitchen, wired our microwave, added power to our island, changed a breaker and gave valuable lighting recommendations.

Jay does a great job. He's very knowledgeable and offers a lot of ideas that I didn't consider. He wasn't afraid to make suggestions that would improve my experience. It seems like a lot of guys are looking for shortcuts and cutting corners. Jay has an eye for what would make a great finished product. Overall I was very pleased with my experience.

Jay?s work was exceptional. He had been given some unique challenges that go along with an old house and lots of obstacles. He met all of the challenges and then some. He was in and out in one day and that included the city inspector. I?d hire him again in a heartbeat.

I couldn't be happier with Jay's work. He made some fantastic suggestions of things I would never have thought of. Even though we added to Jay's work, he was still on a short time line so worked about 12-14 hour days for about 7 days in a row to finish his work so our project wasn't delayed. I've used electrician's in the past but they pale in comparison to Jay's work. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or refer him to anyone. Jay is incredibly hard working, respectful and diligent in following-up. He definitely delivers no matter what it takes.
