It went great. Jay was willing to work around our schedule and go the extra mile to secure the parts we needed. Super professional and friendly. He kept awesome, open lines of communication. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family, as well as, use him for future electrical services.

Jay was superb in all areas. When he first came to provide an estimate, he also provided great advice and suggestions, which we mostly followed, to our eventual delight. He knows his stuff! His estimate was detailed in all areas, including where he couldn't be sure and provided likely costs depending on what was found when work began. Final cost was exactly what we expected it to be; no surprises. Jay was respectful, careful of furnishings, clean, and considerate. The job took 3 days and he was always here when he said he'd be. He even came back in the evening after finishing the job to be sure things looked good at night. Not that the following is necessary, but it added to the experience that he was so friendly, had a good sense of humor, and was nice to the dog! When we need more electric work, we hope he'll be available; cannot recommend him too highly.

I started doing my own electrical work for what I thought was going to be a small project and things got out of control after we found that I had to change my electrical panel. I called two or three electrical services to get an estimate but Jay was the only person who answered the phone on a Saturday so I decided to try his services. He was super patient with all the mistakes that I had made and fixed everything step by step. He is super methodical when he works. He is super nice and very respectful. He was very clear with the price and super reasonable. I have a very high degree of respect for the way he conducts his business.

He did an extra wonderful job. He worked really hard and was really neat. He dug up the trenched and put it right back to where you couldn't even tell he laid the pipe.

I had an electrical issue where most of my power was fine. But some outlets and lights just went out. I called Dalum and talked to Jay to schedule a service call. I wasn't in an immediate hurry, so he suggested checking GFI's first before he came out so that I wouldn't have to pay for a service call. Unfortunately that didn't resolve our issue. The next day before he came out, we stumbled on what appeared to be a bad outlet. I called to cancel as that is something I felt I could address. During the call he also gave me some pointers for the repair so that I didn't create possible issues later. I really appreciated him taking the time to help me try and resolve the issue myself, instead of just looking for the service call charges. We do have future new electrical work that we are probably will be addressing later, and will not hesitate to call them again.

Jay arrived on time and began working right away. He spent 8 hours on site and finished every item to my complete satisfaction. My wife is thrilled with the new shower light and with the repairs we've been delaying on having done. He cleaned up everything thoroughly when done and was respectful of not tracking water from the wet outdoors when going out to his van. He offered useful advice on non-electric items he encountered like the state of the insulation in the attic (he was up their to lead new wire) and the dryer vent exit missing a flap. Jay was very flexible and accommodating of my last-minute changes and additions. His labor bill was very fair based on comparisons I've seen with competitors and the workmanship was top-notch. I'll definitely be contacting him first with any electrical work that comes up in the future.

Went perfect. I did not enter the review until a few months after his service. We were having a different issue with electricity off in one room of our house and no breakers off. We couldn?t figure it out so I called him. He gave me a suggestion over the phone and that worked! I was so appreciative that he was willing to do that. Thank you so much! Honesty and good work are what people are looking for!

Jay arrived punctually at 8:30 AM and got right down to business. He put down tarps to protect the carpeting and countertops and clear plastic to protect the cabinets and appliances. I still needed to buy bulbs for the new fixtures, so he advised me what to look for and even went online to see what stores stocked what I needed. Mostly I tried to stay out of his way while he was working, but he was sure to consult me whenever a decision had to be made, like exactly where the pendants should go. He ended up working until almost 8:30, a full 12 hours. The quality of his work and his attention to detail are second to none. Jay is friendly and personable and did a great job. This was probably the best experience I've ever had with a provider of home services, and without Angie's List I would have never found him. I've already told my story and shown the results to countless family and friends; I hope to reach even more people through this review. My advice to anyone reading this: Go with Jay and you won't be disappointed!

We asked Jay to come give recommendations for our home and provide a quote for adding recessed lights to our home. We set up an appointment to assess project and get a quote. Jay never showed up for the appointment even after I called him midday as a reminder and we never heard from him until 3 days later when he called to apologized for forgetting about our appointment. He rescheduled for the next day and did arrive on time. He spent lots of time with us and provided helpful insight to our project and seemed pleasant to work with. However, it is now 1 month later and we have not heard back from him or received our itemized quote as promised. We have contacted him twice via text to ask for our plan/quote and he has only responded that he is "going to work on it". We were actually excited to work with Jay. Despite not showing up for our first appointment, he seemed helpful and knowledgeable. But after weeks of no contact on his part we are left feeling neglected. We understand this is "busy season", but we have already given him a second chance after a no-show appointment and now feel like we are wasting time on someone who doesn't care about our business. We will use a different electrician for our project.

I was very impressed with Jay Dalum from the initial phone call with his quick response and his timely visit to check out the electrical work we needed done for a quote. He was very friendly, courteous, personable and truly went above and beyond to ensure we were doing the right thing to enhance lighting in our home. He even took extra time on the first visit to demonstrate the difference between light bulbs and how they would help us gain added light. All of the services were done beautifully, in a timely manner and with great communication from Jay. I will continue to use his services as we continue to remodel our home and would highly recommend them to family and friends.

Jay answered the phone the first time my husband called him, and readily made an appointment to fix our problems, at our convenience. He was SO quick to diagnose and fix the problems, was professional, respectful (took his shoes off, worked neatly), was prompt -- all the things I expect in a professional with expertise. His rates are reasonable, and you really get your money's worth because he's SPEEDY in addition to thorough and accurate. However, here's what sets him apart: he's proactive. While fixing my problems, he shared his knowledge and tips that left me more educated and informed about current and future electrical requirements. It's so important and valuable to me when experts share their knowledge because then I can make better decisions (e.g. dimmer or no dimmer? LED or CFL?).

Jay answered his phone immediately. I needed help upgrading my nonGFCI kitchen outlets to GFCI outlets. I needed Jay to do this immediately as it was part of the sale of my home which is closing this week. The previous repair person who upgraded to GFCI outlets did not affix wiring carefully enough and Jay fixed it immediately. He responded fast, completed it fast and is someone I will use again. I own a condo in St. Paul that I rent out as well and I will use him again for any electrical needs I have. I have not received the bill yet. Which is why it says 0.00.

I scheduled my appointment with Jay online with Angie's list. He promptly called to discuss the job, confirm a time and provided a price. He obtained the necessary permit to install the outlet. He arrived on time and completed the job in less than an hour. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He explained his work and answered questions. I would definitely call him again and refer him to my friends. Great service and great value!

Jay was very responsive and accommodating to my schedule. He determined the issue, which ended up being a larger, non-emergency issue and gave recommendations for next steps and potential costs.

It was difficult installation as the ceiling was 18ft high. He was efficient and thorough. I appreciated the additional advice he gave me on taking care of the fan.

Jay had to go into our attic to add pipes that were never properly installed or vented. He had his work cut out for him. The attic isn't easy to get into or move around in. He had to lay on his back and retro-fit a pipe. He knew that our painter was going to remove an old central air conditioning vent so Jay got it ready to make it easy on the painter who will not have to crawl around in the attic. Jay Dalum is personable, caring, true to his word and an all around professional. He has worked hard to own his own business so he can schedule activities with his family. He deeply cares about his community and making sure that he explains the benefits to installing or fixing what you think you want. After consulting with Mr. Dalum, I changed my mind on a couple of items that I thought I wanted. I did not even consider a dimmer switch on the bathroom lights and I absolutely love it. Instead of waking up in the middle of the night and turning on a glaring bright light over the vanity, it can be turned down to the brightness of a night light. Thank you Dalum's Electric Service!

I had made an appointment with Jay Dalum to install the new light fixture. Because of a conflict, I had to ask him to reschedule. He was very accommodating and immediately changed to suit my time frame. I also appreciated that he called me several hours before the scheduled time to verify our appointment. He did excellent work. In addition he gave me advice regarding the electrical fixtures in my home and offered to help me choose materials for projects that I need to have done in the near future. I will definitely continue using his services for my electrical needs.

We had four 20 year old outdoor halogen light fixtures in the back of our home with multiple problems. I posted the service request on the List and Jay responded promptly. After several pleasant message exchanges, an appointment was set up. During the installation, Jay found out that the source of the problem of two of the lights was a broken wire chewed up by a squirrel in the attic. He showed me the damaged wires which were shorted in several locations. We felt very lucky to have Jay to work on this task. In our situation, we need someone not only with good electrical skill, but also with good engineering mind combined with multiple other skills. He safely reached out a few difficult places to get the wires and fixture repaired/replaced. He cut the ceiling drywall opening correctly and professionally (according to my drywall contractor who closed up the openings today) to reach out the wires in the attic area which was too small to enter. The work site was kept neat during and after the job. He also fixed several other issues on the side during the visit. Jay is very conscientious, efficient, thorough, and professional in his work performance. I felt that Jay goes ?above and beyond? when he is working on the solution to a problem and works with his clients to resolve the situation. Jay?s integrity is high and his rates are reasonable. With the level of damages and amount of work needs to be done, we are well pleased with the invoice. I would highly recommend Jay without hesitation to anyone with an electrical issue.
