The guys were great but for a hundred dollars and the fact that the stuff they do no one else can do is kinda robbery. The worked an hour and were nice but there was no way I could have done the self install and that would have delayed my services another month.

Unfortunately one has to buy the whole package, cable, internet and phone. I was looking for a way to reduce my bill but buying separately is just as much or more than the package. I will be looking for another provider.

My internet connection was acting strangely with regular dropouts. Comcast was able to troubleshoot the problem and promptly replaced the cable modem. I am on business contract with Comcast, so that may impact their response.

If Comcast weren't a monopoly, I wouldn't use them. Their telephone based customer service is awful (including extremely long hold times and constant transferring to other agents, including back and forth between two departments multiple times), their prices are too high for the service they offer and their service model is not customer friendly.

After about 10 years of cable service, I finally decided to pull the plug. I was paying almost $200 a month for internet and TV--the only premium services I had were HBO, HD, and the sports package. I even tried calling them to try to reduce my bill, and only got about ten dollars off. Moreover, you'd think that with 300 channels, there would be more to watch. I now have DSL internet, which seems just as fast, and I watch a few TV shows on Netflix or PBS.org. It's incredibly freeing.

I used to also have cable, but I had to downgrade because it was too expensive. My interaction with the customer phone service professional was nice, but I was calling about a negative interaction I observed between a comcast tech and my elderly neighbor.

The tech was very nice the professional. He fixed some connections on the outside of the house that were not done to code last year when Comcast installed the internet service at the house. When we reviewed the security system he had in his order it was different than what was in my order that I had worked with the sales rep on. The tech did a good job by calling corporate to get an updated price quote. The price was not the same as what the sale rep had told me. I called my sale rep multiple times and he would not pick up. Then we discussed how I wanted the detached garage covered by the system and the tech informed me they could not place sensors in an unheated place. So at this point I canceled the install. The tech informed me that this happens all the time. The sales rep never would call me back so I canceled the service.
Description of Work: Comcast came out to the house to install home security system. They fixed some connections on the exterior of the house but did not install the home security system.

We wish it went pretty good but I think they were way overrated easy that they charge round way too much. And it run out the programs are repeated and do not have very much use. Unless you give the premium channels, then you pay a way too much.

It was mediocre, I actually don't have to call in and talk to them. The service had been working in the past though when I have tried to call in they have horrible customer service and it was very difficult to get in touch with somebody that I need to speak with. Unfortunately, they sort of have a monopoly in my area so I don't have any option. Honestly, they are horrible. I work for a technology company so if I call in, I know exactly what needs to be fixed or I will talk to somebody who's knowledgeable. I actually have a business account and when I call in I usually get somebody who doesn't know what they are talking about and I usually have to wait on the phone for a very long time so they are pretty bad.

The internet service with them is excellent,and it is fast. The cable has enough channels, and it just comes with HD boxes. I like that it always seems to work.

I've been using them for ten years. The internet is very fast but we have to pay extra to have a very fast internet. Everything about it is great except for that they're the only company that we can get what we need from where we live. I really want their service but I want competition.

I spoke with countless Comcast reps to resolve this. They're all pleasant, but it seems that nobody has the authority to solve problems. They did offer to give me the HD at a discount which was still $200 more than the salesman quoted. I will accept that because I've already wasted too much time with them. They refer you to the customer service guarantee, but unfortunately they don't honor it. They just forward you to different people so you can start explaining your problem all over again.
Description of Work: First of all, the installers were excellent! They were prompt, on time, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They installed everything, and found creative solutions. My problem was with Comcast sales. The salesperson gave me a package quote including HD, but the installer later said that HD wasn't included. I asked customer service about it, and they said it wasn't included. I was told that they had a lot of new employees and the salesman offered it as a mistake. I maintained that I made the decision based on salesman's info and they should honor it. They record all conversations so it wouldn't be that difficult to review the original discussion.I requested a transcript of that conversation in case there was any confusion on my part, but they did not respond to my request.

I tried to sign up for services online and the website took me through the process and then said I needed to chat with a representative to "finalize" things. I spent 90 minutes chatting with a representative who passive-aggressively tried to steer me toward other bundles that I didn't want, including one that had a 2-year contract (I wanted contract-free), a triple-play package including home phone service (which I didn't want), and a higher-priced package including more premium cable channels. Because 2-3 minutes or more sometimes lapsed between responses from the chat representative, this took a lot of unnecessary time. Finally he gave me the plan I wanted in the first place and signed me up. My home was already connected to their cable infrastructure, so they sent me their "self-install kit" which is just the cable box, modem, wires, and instructions. When it arrived in a few days, I installed it easily and my TV and internet was up and running! Only problem was I didn't have all the TV channels I expected. Turns out my chat representative signed me up for a different package than I wanted, with fewer channels (and some "benefits" that I didn't want and can no longer remember) at the same price. Furious, I called Comcast and got to speak to a human after about 20 min. The person I spoke to was helpful, fixed my issue and actually got me a better deal on what I wanted by waiving some DVR rental costs for the first year. HOWEVER, I'm having trouble with their internet services. Several times a day, my internet will cut out completely, or go from its usual 20+MB/s speeds to <5 MB/s or less. A few days ago I was essentially working on a 56k modem (.05 MB/s) for about a half hour. Called Comcast again, and after some troubleshooting, they agreed that a tech would have to come look at it. The next available tech could come 4 days later, so I waited. The tech actually called ahead and asked if he could come an hour earlier than scheduled and I said sure. He was great, discovered a problem in how the cable box had been connected by an earlier Comcast tech (it was "inverted"?), and all signs suggested the the problem was fixed. Two days later, here I am, and the problem is back. In fact, I've been writing this review partly while waiting on hold with their service representative. AND I'll have to wait a few minutes to post this review, because my internet's experiencing one of those frequent, intermittent service drops again...

Phone service was out multiple times throughout the year. Would not recommend Comcast phone at all. We have patience and tried it for three years but finally gave up when our phone was dead for three days and after one and a half hours of trying to convince comcast, we gave up on the service. If you have no problems, the phone service is okay but if you have problems, all i can say is good luck.

It didn't go. Despite talking to service rep's twice before my move including fully informing them that the previous tenant at the house I moved into had Dish and not Comcast and requesting a technician to come out since my past 2 transfers in the Twin Cities did not go smoothly, the service rep insisted it would be fine for the Comcast tech to just switch something outside and didn't need us to be home as we could do a self-install. Sure enough, it didn't work so now we have to wait for a technician and the next available time is 9 days later. I went into the service center and spoke with the rep there and she looked into the computer and told me there was no way we could have done a self-install since there hadn't been Comcast in the house since 2007 (which I fully informed the service rep who set up my transfer on the phone). I have the option of working at home which I was planning on doing, but now I cannot as there is no internet. The Comcast people I spoke with were nice enough but I don't feel they are trained enough to look at individual situations as this is the 3rd failed transfer I've experienced and it has been the fault of Comcast each time. They also do not have enough technicians on hand if it takes 9 days to get serviced! The deals I was offered for moving (as "new customer" were twice as much as what I'm currently paying and I was not offered anything other than a potential service charge for them screwing up yet again, even despite mentioning I'm about to cancel my service with them. Instead, the phone rep end with "Thank you for using Comcast, we value your service". Yeah, right!

The technician was great - he was on time and very professional. But the rest of the folks I have dealt with at Comcast have been a nightmare. Everyone tells a different story. It took me WEEKS to get the right information and, by then, I was over it. I can't wait until there's a new game in town and I can get rid of them altogether.
Description of Work: Let me start by saying that the technician who came to install my cable was very friendly, professional, and knowledgable. That is the ONLY area in which they did a good job. Otherwise, it's been a billing nightmare and their customer service agents have been rude and seemingly unable to fix their own errors. I continue to use Comcast for Internet but have cancelled my cable due to continuous billing issues. The Internet service is fast and reliable, so that's a big plus. But I hope their customer service improves.
