Well part of the problem for me is I live in St. Paul Minnesota and they have got a monopoly in terms of providing cable, phone company they do phone and internet and they contracted out to one of the dish providers the TV service,I would like to be able switch to a cable company that would cover the same things that Comcast does. there is some service issue sometimes they eat my emails they just disappear and I have phone messages disappear also.

I pay a monthly fee of $5 a month in case I do have a problem. They checked all of the outside lines but, they didn't need to come in the house, so they didn't charge me more. I have to use them because, that's who I have my contract with. I had no complaints with them coming. He made sure that I was satisfied before he left. I know that Comcast in general has a bad reputation but, I haven't had a problem. I would say that I'm satisfied with them.
Description of Work: Comcast installed a landline. I have internet, and cable. I bundle it. They came out because, I had a problem with my phone.

I like them. They've been fine. They're kind of spendy. I had a little bit of a problem with change of equipment. They cut off the old equipment before they got me the new equipment. Secondly, they claimed that it was some technical glitch but it wasn't. I wasn't very pleased with that. As soon as I had the equipment, it worked right away. It wasn't a big deal but it kind of irked me a little bit.

They are a monopoly here. They customer service they render makes it an F experience. When I needed to cancel a service or move service it was not so smooth. It would have been several years ago. Not only would they not disconnect me to move to an area where they didn't provide they constantly rang me later as to why and the simple explanation of I knew you would not want to provide a service here wasn't even good enough. It was one of those bad audio tapes you don't want to here anymore like the fella who wouldn't take no for an answer, 45 minutes of nonsense. I don't have a great experience with Comcast.

I contacted the provide in July and asked what they were doing...and they agreed to not charge me 10 extra per month as it appeared I owned my modem. Well - I have 2 modems, except the one hooked up is the one from comcast. So today's bill still includes the extra $10 that they said they would remove. I contacted them today and they saw the chat notes, but still want to charge me for the modem that I have from them, even though they agreed to not charge me. It just doesn't seem legal to agree to a contracted price per month for a year to then get a letter saying oops we forgot to charge you extra for rental...when the price I agreed to didn't state anything about rental fees.
Description of Work: We agreed over the phone to 39.99 per month new year contract - cable and internet - back in April. In May, or so, not sure the date but it was after I had been billed once for sure, they sent a letter stating that they needed to charge an extra $10 for modem rental that I had from the previous 29.99 per month contract. So now they are billing me approx. 50 per month on a contract that was to be 40 per month for 1 year.

The overall experience is pretty good. It started out at their bricks and mortar store in Richfield. I found the store very inviting and the sales staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. They were able to find the lowest price for my needs and scheduled the install with me so that it fit my schedule. The install also went great. The installer showed up during the window and it only took him about 45 minutes to hook up my whole house. The only knock I have is that the user interface on the cable boxes is not the best. Although I didn't pay for the X1 upgrade. But even with that in mind, the interface should still be better. The internet connection is faster than fast so I have no complaints there at all.

Other than being incredibly overpriced and we are trying to figure out ways to get our cable cheap, they're fine. It's hard to grade them because there is nobody to compare them to. They are overpriced I think. We are going to try and not use them for cable, we are going to try something else.

The service was adequate, they are very difficult to deal with. When you call them, their extended wait on the phone, you end up with someone who's not in your area, and likely doesn't understand your problem, and usually, you don't get much help, unless you are aggressive enough to demand to be escalated to the next higher level. The internet service is outstanding, but the tv service is nearly adequate.

Very friendly service representatives. Not especially helpful with all my questions. Sad that they refuse to sell anything but cable TV bundles since most of the programs on many channels are morally inappropriate to me and I do not want to support such programming. ala-cart cable TV service is possible but this cable provider refuses to allow it's customers the right to determine his/her own cable TV bundle. The pricing was only for 12 months after which it goes way up.

Several reps suggested I go through a process of unplugging and replugging various connections. It was a process that had been suggested when I was first making Comcast work. This did not resolve my issue. The other csrs had nothing concrete to offer.
Description of Work: In two visits to a store and three phone calls to a call center, I explained my problem and it never was resolved. The problem is that I have enrolled in basic cable service and therefore am entitled to access to the three public television channels. I only get TPT. Five different Comcast customer service and technical reps were unable to resolve this issue. I finally gave up.

Basically it is what Comcast did not do. My response to "would I use this provider in the future?" Not sure - it depends on the outcome. We dropped Comcast about 3 years ago because they kept raising the price on us and their support lacked. This time we thought by combining everything together - phone, tv and internet we would cut our costs and get decent service. So I called to order the Comcast Triple Play late evening. The sales person was very pleasant. The order was placed and scheduled to install. I found out that Comcast was advertising a better deal on-line. So I called and canceled my phone and was switched to an on-line specialist. The on-line pricing was basically the same - however, the premium channels were included and a $200 gift card. Both plans were for 24 months. I was told that the order was processed and a technician was scheduled to arrive sometime between 2-4 pm today (9/26). I waitedfor the technician to arrive. When they didn't caledl Comcast to find out why the service person never showed. Apparently in speaking to Lea - who was very pleasant and patient (as I was upset) stated that they had record of my initial cancelation, but apparently my on-line order never went through. Lea the Comast rep told me she could get me the same pricing for on 12 month commitment, however no $200 gift card and an install date not until 10/8/2014. Umm - unfortunately because I was under the impression that our Comcast service would be installed today, I canceled our other TV provider - shame on me. Luckily I did not cancel our phone service and we still at least have Internet service (my wife and I work out of the home). So I sit here waiting to here from Lea's Supervisor, as I was told I would receive a call today. I guess I will continue to wait and hope that I receive that call. I received the following email as I was told I would and submitted a response as requested. It appears that there is no clear of communication between on-line and phone orders. Fine. I picked up the DVR, the rest we handled over the phone. I didn't need or want the phone service, but it was much cheaper with it than otherwise. We'll see what happens in two years.
Description of Work: swapped an old DVR box for a new one with four times the capacity. Offered a triple play package that reduced my costs by $60 a month for two years

Serviceman was great, but followup is non-existent.
Description of Work: My complain was intermittent service failures for all three services they provide (Internet, TV, phone). The repairman decided that my service from the street to the house was bad, so he replaced it. Because of the severe cold, deep snow, frozen ground, etc., he ran the new line on the ground. Completely understandable. "We'll come back when the ground is thawed out and bury the line properly." Spring passed, summer is nearly over, still no attempt to bury the cable which is still on the ground, running across a garden, a walkway, and alongside the house,

The service person was fine and did a good job. Service since then has been riddled with intermittent problems and Comcast does not want to send out a service person. The support folks just read a script and are not helpful to those of us with any computer networking experience. I would highly suggest looking for options with your phone company in the Twin Cities. Century Link had fiber connections at our last home and we never had an issue. USI also provides speedy options in the Twin Cities for some locations.

Initially it was difficult navigating through the automated customer service system on the phone, but as soon as a live representative came on things went better. Unfortunately this is the third time in six months that I have had to have the DVR reset. A little frustrating for the amount of money we pay for cable and this feature.

I basically am complaining about the high cost. Once you have their service it just keeps going up. I get phone, a step up from basic TV and internet. For a retired person $180 is too much

not well. I had told them it had to be away from the fence as I was getting a new fence with new footings...I also said that I needed to be present...well they put it exactly where I had said not to..on the fence line....and did it when I was not home....so we ripped it out again and told them to do it over....we waited until the new fence was in....then it was done right. The very worst thing one can to is call 222-3333.....as you talk to people in the Philippines...can't understand them and the order is always screwed up...or they drop your call after waiting on line forever. Best thing to do is to go directly to their centers...those people actually know what you are talking about.

When we call to get help with our cable or internet service, they rarely are able to resolve the problem. For example, our internet was being intermittent.. It took 5 calls and 2 visits for them to give us a "power adaptor" upgrade for a local internet boost , which has fixed some but not all of the problem. The internet service speed is much less than advertised.

Comcast mailed me out a basic cable box within the week, and my bill was immediately lowered! Good deal.
Description of Work: I was contacted by Comcast over the phone - they explained to me that if I added the basic cable service to my internet service, my overall bill would be cheaper than what I was paying now!
