I think they are great. I had a problem when I moved into this house. The guy who had lived there before did computer software and had the whole house wired for networking. Another company came out and they couldn't even get one line working in my house. I wanted a land line so I called Comcast and they got everything working for me. I called them once asking about their high def and the representative looked at my bill and said that he could save me some money on my bill and still get me the high definition, and he did. He saved me ten dollars and got me high definition.

Our experience with this company has been okay but I'm not very happy with them. They seem to have trouble with their cable. A lot of times we turn on the TV and find our service isn't working so we call the customer service. They have us turn it to a certain channel and do some things and then it works again. Fixing it isn't that hard, it's just the hassle of it all.

We have had a mixed experience with them. Their help line is super, but I get annoyed at needing their help so much. It might be my computer's fault, because it is five years old. It isn't very convenient. I don't get to use all the features I want. They are really good at talking me through problem solving, and they always get it running again. We changed to them, because we could get a better deal.

Supposedly we have this high speed INTERNET but it always gets bogged down and the servers are unavailable and down. I don't like the way they do their pricing. We end up paying for a bunch of channels we would never want because we do want one out of the category. I am not thrilled with it. This goes back a few years when they were laying the cable out here. It was a comedy of errors. They would come and dig in the cable line then the phone company would come and dig up the cable line. They were digging up each other's lines about eight times. It was just ridiculous. I got to the point where I screamed at them. They finally straightened it out.

Installation is fine. Their cable division is much friendlier than their internet division.
Description of Work: We have Comcast's high speed internet service and the connection speed is unpredictable and often very slow, even during "off peak" hours. Comcast will not allow you to sign up for their bundled deals (phone, cable, internet) as an existing customer. Fees are ridiculous. We bought our own modem to avoid the $3/month rent, and they charged us a fee for buying our own modem!!! If only DSL were faster or there was some form of competition in the industry.

Called comcast regarding branches hanging on the cable line. They made an appointment to remove the branches two weeks later. Since it was raining that day, I waited for two days before calling them. At that point they indicated that they cancelled the order because they don't do that service. The customer service phone rep indicated that "she was sure" the person who took my call would have been reprimanded for taking an incorrect order. I understand mistakes are made, however Comcast should have called me to let me know about the change. That is just common courtesy and good customer responsiveness. I am a new cable TV customer, so I have had little experience with this group. Quality of the transmission is as expected and the number of stations is as promised. I have had good service from the internet provider, but will rate that separately.
Description of Work: Failed to do service requested and did not notify me they were unilaterally cancelling the order.

I have comcast business class internet. The service has been very reliable. I've had it for about 2.5 years and I've only had a lost connection a handful of times. Anytime I had a problem, I would call the business class line and they would be very prompt about fixing it. I've heard some bad stories about the regular residential internet connections, but the service is great with business class. The price is a little expensive compared to some other services I've seen, but I needed a static ip address so I was stuck with getting comcast business class internet.

My internet connection is up and running. The Comcast phone service worker was excellent. He never once got the least bit impatient with me, and he figured out the problem and walked me through fixing it. Good job done. And no charge.
Description of Work: Today when I went to log on to the internet, it wasn't working. I tried everything I could as a semi-functional computer worker, but nothing worked. I called Comcast and went through their DREADFUL press bla for bla. When I finally was connected to a real live person, things went very smoothly. He started with the easiest fixes first and when they didn't work I had to crawl around under my desk connecting wires doing what I was directed to do. He even patiently waited on the phone while I had to go find a flash light.

We have been a Comcast customer for years and are generally pleased. The quality of the service is good, and while I can't compare to satellite based on my experiences, we are fine with the value of what are provided. Of course, there are always a few glitches here and there - it is a cable company after all. In one case, they came out to mark where the cable was for a sprinkler installation and mismarked the spot (they marked an old cable that was not in use any longer) and the cable ended up getting cut. It would have taken Comcast a couple of days to get out for repair - luckily the sprinkler company fixed it the next morning.

I canceled my service in July 2008 and was told there was an outstanding equipment rental from 2004 that needed to returned. I did not have that equipment. I was told they would get back to me. They never did so I called 5 more times to get this taken care of. I had first heard of this equipment issue back in May 2007 and was told it would be taken care of so I was surprised that it was still an outstanding issue. Needless to say, this has still not been resolved and I keep getting weekly calls and I keep telling them I don't have the equipment.

Called Comcast and set up an appointment to have second line fixed for my in-laws apartment, my father in-law is disabled and in poor health so the second line is needed. My wife was out of the country so I had my sister in-law meet comcast who never showed up. Sister in-law called comcast to complain, they said there was no appointment made. She set up another appointment for a different day. Tech showed up and fixed the problem with in a couple hours. When I returned home that night from work I found my couch in the middle of the room, apart (recliners attach to each other), computer and desk next to it, found several phone line wires in laundry room hanging down, and cable box on exterior of home wide open exposed to possible further issues in the future.
Description of Work: Second line in home was not working. Comcast fixed the problem.

I'm a System Administrator and as such I KNOW good Internet as well as BAD INTERNET! In 6 years, Comcast has NEVER delivered stable, consistent Internet! They have NEVER been a good value! They over state what they deliver, have poor tech support - if any! Very caring Customer Service staff, but they're so limited they simply can't help!

The sales person I talked to was great. Helpful in answering all my questions and friendly. But the technician who came to do the installation, sadly the best word is Lazy. Unprofessional, sloppily dressed, he clearly wanted to do as little work as possible. His first inclination was to run the cable across the driveway (buried), but I suggested he run it with the phone wire up high. Then he didn't attach it to the house running down saying it was too hard since I had a stucco house. He left it for the company that Comcast contracts to bury long-running cables. I would look for a different high-speed company if I had any choice.

The picture freezes sometimes and the sound goes out. It doesn't last long though. Overall, the cable is good other than the freezing. We used to have internet through them, but it was horrible, and they would not fix it.

We are only using Comcast because we have to. I would never recommend them to anyone. They have no clue about customer service. Our experience with Comcast over the last six months has been terrible. We've had damages to our house. They needed to rewire underground and in the process of doing that, they moved our air conditioner and caused $500 damage in doing so. Most recently they came out to upgrade our internet service, but after he was finished, it didn't work. He called his supervisor and they basically told me that it wasn't there fault that it wasn't working. I'm not sure what we pay for this service.

I took me hours on the phone to get my service straightened out. They offered a good price to begin with, but they are raising those prices soon. They do offer unlimited distance. I would strongly advise people do their research before switching to Comcast.

They were very messy. I had to pay an electrician to install about ten feet of cable, from the attic to the computer.
