way too expensive. Poor options for available channels, need to purchase super expensive packages to get some desired channels, and have tons of channels I have no interest in.

We've been hung up on and disconnected couple of times trying to get a hold of them and I was not very happy with that. I also don't like their pricing policy. You have to ask a lot of questions to figure out what your price is going to be and they don't always tell you all your options up front. Furthermore, when you're troubleshooting, it's had to get help.

I have been having issues with their service for the last several years. I have had numerous technicians out and have never been able to get it working properly. All they do is give you a song and dance. They have looked at my computer several times and at one time erased everything on my computer. Their final suggestion was to by a new computer even though they are the ones that broke it. I still don't have the connectivity and they are no longer responding.

The internet is not as fast as I would have expected. The cable service is very expensive to get certain packages to have certain things we want. That is one of our complaints, that you can't pick channels, you have to pick packages. We have caller ID and call waiting on our landline. We are not so happy with the price and the customer service. The price is a little high, granted we have three different things with them, but it still strikes me as being a little high. But we are a captive market here. There is no one else we can get internet and cable with. Their customer service is horrid. I think they try real hard, but they don't seem to be very well trained and they don't seem to be very knowledgeable. We recently had an outage where a snow plow took out our box and we were without service for over a day and a half, which when you work from home, is very frustrating. And there were multiple phone calls where we were given conflicting information, saying it was our house and they had to send someone out and then we were told it was an area issue. Then it was our house again and then is was an area issue. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. I have to use them, I don't have a choice. They are the only provider. If I had a choice, I would not use them.

the only alternatives I have is Direct TV and I think they are worse. 1) I have called them numerous times and although they respond rapidly, I have to go to great lengths to get service back when I lose it. I lost it for 5 days in 2013 and although I was compansated for lost service, I still was without service for that time. In order to resume service I have to talk to 5 people and have each one treat me like I was a child in order to follow their instructions to get my service back. |I lost service on a Friday about 2PM, and I called them and had to follow instructions but they decided it was a line problem and was told that their technician would require 48 hours to straighten the problem. Part of the problem was that when I pressed a cable channel, the service automatically switched me to an HD channel and when that happened, the HD informed me that there was an error and could not connect me. I waited 48 hours and recalled them about 2PM on Sunday and was told they they would have a serviceman out on Friday of the following week (1 week from service lost). |On Tuesday of the following week a serviceman showed up and informed me that there was a problem in the neighborhood service. When I informed him that I had a technician coming on Friday. He fixed the problem right away and so I called Comcast and cancelled the service call. I then had to wait until Wednesday to call Comcast to cancelled service call and after speaking to 2 people with foreign accents, I was told I would receive my credit, which I did on my next bill. |If there was a probem in the neighborhood, why was I not told when I called the first time and why did I have to go to such lengths and lost time before the problem was resolved?? |As it is I am subjected to nightly program interruptions while I am watching a movie or a program while I assume they are doing something mechanical?? |If I had another decent choice I would leave Comcast but I have no choice if I want cable TV.

Many bad and few good experiences with comcast/xfinity. Called when I switch wireless routers. Person signed me up for some sort of service contract (i told them not to) and forwarded me to the service provider. Service provided said I didn't have a contract with them and they couldn't help me. Called comcast back, got a different tech and they were able to fix the issue in a few minutes. Checked bill online and saw the service contract, had to call and get that removed. Cable box died after a power outage, had to return it for replacement at one of their service centers. Service center staff have always been extremely nice and helpful. Watch out if you have someone come to fix an issue, they may charge for the work (happened once). Price increases for same service every few months.

The guy worked hard to wire it up and it works. The password is a little long and calling customer service puts you into an endless phone tree, but my WiFiWorks great.

I had their service hooked up. I asked them for information on their basic rates with out all the upgrades. When they gave me the rates, they weren't any lower than I thought they should have been. Well all of a sudden my internet service at my home dropped off. When I tried to call the service department, I couldn't get anyone local, and was told that I couldn't speak to them. I called Charter, another internet service to see if I could get internet through them. Well Charter told me I was only able to get Comcast service in my area. With Comcast, I would have to cancel one thing to get another but then have to pay high rates for less service. All they obviously want is money out of us. I try to remove the higher priced services from my monthly bill, and they turn around and raise the prices of the basic service. There is absolutely no way to get a hold of local assistance. The phone numbers are mostly outside of the state and sometimes outside of the country.

Dealing with Comcast you might as well flip a coin for the courtesy and responsiveness. Half the time you will end up with someone who has no knowledge of how to handle the circumstance and they try to pin their lack of knowledge on the customer which is a big no-no. The other part of the time you will get a person who is very knowledgeable and friendly who is helpful in accomplishing the task that needs to be performed. I am not going to slam the internet service, because it is the fastest in the area, however if I could find a service provider that provides just as fast internet and has excellent customer service I would switch in a heartbeat (even if the competitor was a little more expensive). So, my advice is, if you want fast internet service that is for the most part reliable go with Comcast, but if there is any other service provider out there that provides the same internet service for roughly the same price, go with the competitor.

Terrible. Tech did not act like he knew what he was doing. Was in my home for over 8 hours and did not finish the job. Kept telling me that there was a problem through out the visit the but never seemed to solve it. Wifi signal weak in various parts of house. No instruction on how to work tv remotes or features. Previously had AT&T universe and loved it. There were never any problems. Also have wireless tv receivers, Comcast does not. Never answer their customer service line. Best to chat online with tech support to get anything done.

We have no choice but to use them because we live in wooded area. We have had them for a long time, for 20 years and I hate them. I do not know what it is with how they set it up in this area but we used to lose service all the time. And that has gotten better over the years, I have to say. But right now I have an issue and I called them and they have not resolved it yet. It is what it is. I think it is too expensive. $300 is a lot of money. We are kind of stuck because there is nothing out here. It seems like they take care and get to the issues. I think their good with being punctual but I do not have them come out very often. They are great people.

Had to go through 4 individuals on phone. Not one of them talked to each other. Had to explain my issue 4 times. Finally got someone to come to residence and fix the problem. Of course I had to take 1/2 day off to wait for them.

It was very easy to switch back. They just had to update the modem and some wiring, we were set up before he left.
Description of Work: We had Comcast originally for Phone, Internet and TV. We got tired of the services always going up in price, so we switched to CenturyLink and Direct TV. The service and price was fantastic, but they didn't tell us that the speed of the internet was so slow, due to the area we live in, I couldn't take going backwards. Comcast is our provider for internet and we love it. We were also able to get a discount for being a "New Customer".

Comcast gave me 6 months free HBO for my troubles... totally not worth it. I am still having problems being able to access my online account. I also signed up for a deal... $69.99 for expanded cable and internet...but in order to fully utilize the cable, you have to pay for boxes, and other necessary fees... so my bill is really $110 a month. Reaching customer service is next to impossible. If you have any choice to go with someone other than Comcast for services...do it!
Description of Work: Comcast was supposed to come out and hook up 3 cable boxes and wireless internet in my home. When I came home, only one cable box was working, and no internet. I didn't even have cable boxes for the other 2 tv's. I called comcast, they said I could just plug my cord into the modem and get internet, but I would have to pay $50 for someone to come out and install wireless. It took me 3 days, 2.5 hours in phone calls, where I was transferred to people who didn't know anything. I also had problems with the cable boxes they gave me, and had to return to the Comcast store 3 separate times.

They are pretty good because whenever I call them and we are having problems, they usually fix it. If they cannot fix the computers at the office or the circuits or whatever they are down with at the office, they will send somebody out and I have to give them a 2 hour leeway. They tried to talk me into taking the internet package and I told them that I pay $111 for one provider for our computer and that’s for a year and I didn’t want to pay $20 a month to them. I do think that they are kind of spendy. I tried to look into something else which my mom had as she had another service provider and she had problems with them. She lost 26 channels all of a sudden and I was thinking about switching and maybe it would have been a little bit cheaper. I will be retiring in the next 2-4 years and I want to get cheaper things. They are a big company. I wake up at 3.00 am in the morning and I was watching TV and all of a sudden and they have the monthly reminder on every 15 minutes. I can take it in the day but this was at 3.00 am and the whole house was quiet. I will use them for the time being until I find something a little bit cheaper.

What I like about them is that they solved a problem over the telephone when it was discovered that the problem is on a cracked cable. I was able to pick one of their service and its free of charge. What I dislike about them is that, sometimes it takes me a very long time waiting on the phone to be answered by somebody.

They charge me too much for these services. There isn't much I like about them. I don't like their bundles. I don't need my phone and would like to drop it but I can't because they will charge me more if I drop my phone. If I drop my phone then they won't give me the bundle price and I have been with them for 3 years. They tell me I am getting a special price with the bundle. I told them that I didn't need all the channels on my TV, they said that would only save me $10. I have to pay $40 a month for the phone whether I like it or not. When I call them they are very difficult to deal with. I don't like COMCAST at all. I haven't found an alternative. A lot of the time they won't even come. They are not nice.

They are very punctual. They give you a two hour time frame when they are coming. They are efficient. They are very expensive since they have a monopoly.
