Boehm Heating & Air Conditioning

We couldn't have been happier with the service provided by Jim Boehm. We had received several quotes for new boilers, and found Boehm's quote to be competitive and fair. Being in a smaller home, it did not make sense for us to change to a high-efficiency boiler model, as it would provide very little in annual heating cost savings. Instead, we went with a reliable boiler recommended by Boehm. It worked without any issues all winter long. Our old boiler was an enormous, asbestos-filled tank. Boehm subcontracted the removal to another company who contained the area, removed the boiler, and cleaned up after themselves. Jim was professional and courteous, and it was obvious that he cares about his work and customers.

Initially, we were uncertain about the brand (compared with the Lennox, Bryant furnaces that we were looking at) but since the furnaces were replaced, we have been extremely satisfied. The workers were prompt, careful, and cleaned up after themselves. The removal of the old furnaces and installation of the new furnaces took about 1 day. We would definitely hire again and would recommend highly to others.

I looked at multiple contractors and didn't feel comfortable with any of them. Either they wanted me to buy some super energy-efficient (and expensive) model that didn't make sense for my tiny home or they didn't follow through on promises. Boehm was completely different. They didn't try to up-sell me, walked me through every step of the process, and delivered on every promise.

They were good. It went very well. They were very efficient, cleaned up after themselves and got the work done.

I highly recommend their services. They were very friendly and nice. They provided an estimate and stuck to the estimate. I was happy with their product and they did a good job. They were reasonably priced. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

I spent about $350 on that service. My experience was fine and there was no problem there. The person that came out to do the work was fine, but he was pushing me to buy more things. He did not follow up because he was supposed to send some information by mail and I did not get it. I would not recommend them because of the lack of follow-up.

I awoke to a faint electrical/smoke smell throughout the house without the smoke detectors triggered. When I went to the mechanical room, I noticed that the furnace fan was not running, which was unusual since it is set to run continuously, year round. I switched it off and back on again, and it made an awful noise, so I switched it off and called Boehm first thing in the morning (you can call 24 hours, but our house has alternate heat so wouldn't be cold). They sent someone that morning, who promptly discovered the problem, and had a new motor in the truck. Unfortunately, that motor had a slight manufacturing defect, so wouldn't fit quite right, so he called and got someone else to come promptly with a new one and installed it. He told me about known issues with my furnace and what to look for as early signs of failure, which I greatly appreciated. From the gal who took the call to the two servicemen, Tom and Mark, everyone was extremely knowledgeable, professional, prompt, and friendly. No need to look further. I've got my HVAC needs covered!

They were very professional and very willing to educate me, which was very helpful. They would tell me stuff, and I would not understand a word that they were saying, and they would readily go through it again with me. They did a couple of extra little projects in the basement with some venting that they thought would be more effective, even though I didn’t know it was ineffective. They came by in December and gave me the quote, and I did not get around to doing it until now, and the quote was still good; they had stood by their quote regardless of how long it really had been. They were very easy to get in touch with, and so far the heater has been working just fine. I would use them again in the future; in fact, they are going to come back and finish up with the air conditioner in the spring.

Everything went really well. Our temperature control is much better throughout the house. He explained how to adjust dampers accordingly to what season it is to help make sure the temperature is suitable during that time. He was very good at educating me on what my choices for brands, etc. were.

The 21 year old furnace stopped working about 2 weeks ago. Boehm came out the day that I reported it not working to get the house warm again. The root problem was a bad igniter which has happened several times before. They replaced it and were preparing to leave when the furnace stopped coming on again. Tom checked it out and it was clear that the blower motor was not getting the signal to turn on from the furnace. Tom had also pointed out that the blower was probably on its last legs because of the noise the bearings were making. We discussed the cost of repairing it (with a used board because there won't be replacement parts from the mfg for a 21 year old furnace) versus putting in a new one. I decided to put in a new one. To keep us warm until they could install the new one (2 weeks because we had to go to Chicago for a week), they put in a new blower motor and hard wired it on 24/7. That worked like a charm. When we got back from Chicago, they installed the new furnace and the house has never been more evenly warm all over. Great work and great price!

They do very good work. Jim and Jeff came out to install the gas boiler/furnace. They were very pleasant and came out right away. They really know what they are doing and gave a fair price.

I really can't rate these guys any better, they did everything they said they would and everything I needed in a professional manor at a very competitive rate. Not even comparable to another plumber i've used in town before, whom I won't name for potential libel reasons as I have nothing good to say about them.

Called Boehm first thing at 8 AM after found out furnace would turn on but no heat would come out from the ducts. They were swamped with calls because of 2 days of previous bad weather. However within 1 hour I had a call back and by 10 AM they were at the house and by 10:30 AM the furnace was fixed! He was very good too, professional and thorough. He immediately replaced the part and checked the rest of the furnace. While he was there he cleaned the sensors as a precaution, explaining that this often was a reason for furnaces not to turn on. I forgot to clear out some stuff in the furnace room and he moved that and replaced it afterwards! it was a great experience.

I very much enjoyed working with Boehm. When my new furnace was not heating their 24 hour service person fixed the problem promptly and free of charge. I have not had a problem since.

No return call at the time of this writing.

It was a great experience. They are very professional, always showed up on time, and very friendly. We have used them for 25 years.

Needed a new furnace because of getting a yellow warning on the old one. When I called for an estimate they responded immediately and came when scheduled. I was impressed that they not only looked at the furnace but also the air flow to the furnace. I had other estimates that didn't even mention this. Tom was very knowledgeable and explained all that needed to be done for the best operation of the furnace. He discussed the options and what he recommended, and also had the best price for the work. They came and replaced the furnace,and added more duct work to provide more air supply. Later in the week they called to check on it to see if I had any questions.. The work was done quickly and they cleaned up everything. They provided all the paperwork for the Excel rebate and the paperwork I will need to file for the 2010 tax break. I was very pleased with the whole job. My heating bill has gone down significantly.

Very disappointed. Ancient boliers replaced with a new boilers that used fresh air from the room in the basement for combustion air. This is called using atmospheric air from the room. They put a whole thru the side of my house to the outside with a 6 inch pipe that went down the wall and was open near where the boilers sit. Just an open six inch pipe ---not connected to the boilers. This I was told, after the fact, code. They then told me that they explained this to me before hand -- that was not the case, I would have remembered someone telling me that they where going to put an open pipe thru my basement wall. This is Minnesota!!! How many people want an open 6 inch pipe to the outside when it's 40 below!! What they should have sold me, I have since learned, were 'direct vent fresh air intake' boilers. They have a sealed freash air intake pipe to a sealed combustion air chamber. I would have paid for this!!!!! They are not that much more expensive!! But, they bid the cheapest boiler and didn't tell me about the rediculous open pipe to the outside which is now stuffed with insulation. The boiler now draws in cold air from the basement fireplace, not much better than the open pipe they installed. The basement is very cold as a result. Steer clear of these fast talkers. I won't even mention the hassle with the scheduling.

They are a small family run business that has been in the heating business for a couple of generations. I have an old house that had the original octopus furnace and I wanted central air. So I got a number of bids and their bid was the cheapest. I was very happy with them and I have referred them to others. I would use them again in future.

They do high quality work. They are prompt and very reasonable. The cost of the humidifier and the cost of the installation came to about three hundred dollars. The job was done right and the personnel were very pleasant to deal with. I would certainly give them my high recommendation.

Great! We just bought our house last year, and this was our first experience with having the furnace checked. Boehm had installed it for the previous owners, and came highly recommend on Angie's List. Their reputation is well deserved: they were courteous and friendly on the phone in setting up the appointment, and Tom was punctual, professional, efficient, and very helpful on the service call. He answered all our questions and made suggestions for keeping tabs on how the furnace ran. We'll definitely go with them again!

I thought they were great. They supplied one of the radiators and it went well with my décor. Earlier, I had a little trouble finding a radiator for my basement bedroom. They were able to find one to match the décor. It was reclaimed radiator, so it was even better. They also installed the radiator that I already had. They did the piping and also ran the gas line.

They did a good job. They are a family owned company and they provide really great service. They were courteous and timely. They explained things well and they cleaned up.
