Boehm Heating & Air Conditioning

Excellent. Jack (tech) showed up promptly, was well prepared and thorough. I hired Boehm to repair and assess my son's home's furnace. A tech from another contractor had looked at the furnace the day before and pronounced the furnace as dangerous, the heat exchanger cracked and initially refused to repair the "no start" issue. I smelled a rat and hired Boehm to give a 2nd opinion re the heat exchanger and go over the 14 year old furnace. Jack conducted a thorough analysis of combustion gas content, checked the plenum for CO (it read 0.00), adjusted the burners. Cleaned the flame sensor and replaced the problematic pressure sensor. Jack indicated that despite the allegations from the 1st tech that assessed the furnace, that Trane furnaces do not have basic design defects and are extremely rarely found to have heat exchanger cracks. Boehm's work was honest, thorough and professional. In St Paul, they are the only trustworthy contractor that I know.

We had several quotes for a new boiler and Boehm's prices were the best. On top of that, Jeff seemed more knowledgeable about the systems and was extremely helpful in explaining the options, how to maintain the new system and even gave us tips for setting the thermostat to be most efficient. The inspector who came to sign off on the work remarked on how very neat and professional the work was. I couldn't be happier and I don't plan to ever hire another heating company.

I knew they might be WAY backed up due to the extremely cold weather, so called before I was sure there was even a problem (I figured it's easier to get on the wait list and call and tell them it's not needed, than wait till things were really freezing up and then try and get an appointment). Anyway, they came out same day (on their way to another appointment), did a quick check and felt there was no service necessary at this time and recommended routine servicing next fall. I have had Boehm out before (both for routine service and emergent issues) and consistently had excellent service, professionalism and reasonable price. I will certainly use them again for regular furnace checks and for any emergencies.

Our pilot light went out in the middle of the night in December and anxious to get heat again I made the call to 4 heating contractors hoping to find someone who could repair the same day. The first 3 contractors to look at the boiler problem said not only was my boiler unrepairable but even if they could get the pilot lite it would be unsafe to use it. That there wasn't enough draft to safely operate, that my chimney didn't have a liner so would also need to the bids which ranged from $8500-9500. The final contractor to arrive was Jim from Boehm Heating. Having heard from 3 others that my boiler was shot I met him at the door and told him that my boiler needed to be replaced and I'd like a quote for that. He said that may or may not be the case, let's take a look. After 15 min of examination he had the pilot lit and had performed the safety checks to make sure there was a strong draft - there was - and concerned about the comment that my chimney wasn't lined and that might be a safety problem he examined the chimney and said that not only did it have a liner but the liner was fairly new. Instead of spending $9000 I had a minimal charge for a service call. I hate to assign motive to others but it feels like the other 3 contractors were determined to sell a boiler. I am not a heating expert so I had to trust what they were telling me. Most disappointing was the use of scare tactics to try to scare me into signing up for a $9000 boiler I didn't need. I will forever more be a Boehm Heating advocate. They are knowledgeable, honest and fair. Call them and you will be as grateful as I was!

It went horrible, I paid $4,000 dollars for an AC system that is not working. Will not use or recommend this company ever again.

Placed an after-hours call, they called me back within 20 minutes and walked me through relighting the pilot flame (I was interested in trying it myself). Since the pilot would not stay lit, they came out about 30 minutes later and quickly swapped out a broken part. Whole process was very quick, I definitely appreciate them coming out on a frigid weeknight to get my furnace back up and running.

Our boiler was not working. Contacted Boehm today early AM; they said that they would come out that PM. They were actually able to fit me in later this morning. I agreed by phone to a $140 service fee. Because they were able to fix it promptly, they only charged me $70 for the service. I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you to Bill, the service tech, and Boehm... Good job!

It went smoothly. I think it is noisier than my previous unit, unfortunately.

The price was included in a larger remodeling. He came when he was suppose to.

Excellent result. Although Jeff had to search for parts in Dakoa and climb over our daughter's stored household goods to install the new unit, end result is a smooth running - cooling system. I have been doing business with Boehm Heating since 1985 when the installed a boiler and in 2005 they installed our split-system AC units. I have been impressed with their high level of service expertise and their professionalism. I recommend this company at every opportunity.

Jeff showed up much earlier than expected (a big plus, since we'd been without hot water all weekend), figured out the problem and got it fixed in a few minutes.

We had positive and negatives with him, but his suggestions were all good. My wife didn't realize how big it was going to be. It cools the house really well which is great, but it is just a big ugly box outside.

I would recommend them highly. Two people showed up to complete the work. They didn't do anything incorrectly. They didn't do anything poorly. So everything they did was adequate. I don't know enough about boilers and heating systems to tell you what they did well and what they didn't do well. As long as it functions correctly, that is all I care about.

They did a great job. I got a lot of personal attention from the store owner Jeff. I got a fair quote from him. He came and checked it out. I got five different quotes from companies but I decided on this company. There where 3 people that worked on it. They put down a tarp so the house would not get dirty as they removed the old one. They where very efficient and very professional. They where very knowledgeable. One of the guys had been working on furnaces for over 30 years. I was very pleased overall.

Jeff and his team were great! Jeff came by and did an inspection of my current situation (older freon system) and suggested a multi-split system. I received quotes from five other companies and Jeff's bid was very not only competitive but it spelled out exactly what he was going to do...the others required several follow up questions and were not as transparent. The job took almost a full day and I felt that they were both efficient and though at the same time. I am VERY happy with the system they installed. Not only would I hire them again but I will definitely pass their name on to family and friends.

Jeff and his crew installed a 4 head mini split system in our 1926 home with radiator heating. He subcontracted a carpenter to build a backing board for the living room to avoid cutting into the original crown molding. Scheduling the work took a little effort in the early spring as it was hard to predict when they would be able to start due to weather and service calls for heating issues (rightly, heat out emergencies take priority over installing A/C in April). The units work great. All four rooms are cooled sufficiently and it is great having the flexibility of a 4-zone A/C system.

After I signed a contract for the work, Jeff did the work the day that I called to schedule. I am warm and toasty just in time for the drop in temps!!

They were all good, pricing was slightly above average but I felt comfortable paying for it because I knew they would do a good job.
