Boehm Heating & Air Conditioning

I called to ask to A/C diagnostics mid-September for my A/C that wasn't working. The person who took my call was new and had to call me back. She called me back to say they were too busy to take my business. I was stunned, but of course I would not like to have them come out if they didn't have the capacity to do the work.

They were timely and helpful. I recommend them for their services.

First I do not like doing reviews, so I will try to tell the story. We worked out the deal and Boehm installed the furnace on time and seemed like they did a good job. Because the boiler was installed in a closeted area, I did not notice until spring that they installed a gas line across one of the two closet doors. I called and asked them to fix. They fixed and sent me a bill. I write to them and challenged paying them to correct their problem. I did not hear from them again, and no repeat bill. This winter it was colder than normal, the boiler could not keep up with the cold. I used the gas filrplace to keep the house warm. I wrote to Boehm again and told them that the furnace appeared to be undersized. I did not hear from them.

Great experience with Jeff Boehm of Boehm Heating. I originally had anther mop any popular on Angies list come out but I didnt like the sound of their repair estimate of 760 so I paid their 69 dollar trip fee and called Boehm for a second opinion. Jeff was great. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, pre-ordered the part, made time the same day I called him, and had the whole thing done in less than an hour, all for 170 bucks cheaper than the popular company!

The service has always been excellent. Not only are they always punctual and on time, but they are very thorough and they clean up very well after themselves. I would recommend them to anyone.

Boehm installed our furnace about 12 years ago when our old one broke down in the dead of winter. We've had them clean and maintain it routinely ever since. They also maintain our air conditioner. Each time, the same technician, Mark, comes out and he is always pleasant, courteous, and prompt. They keep a running log of what work they've done on a sticker on the furnace. If he finds a potential problem, he brings it to our attention and we have him fix it then in order to avoid a costly emergency service call later. It is a pleasure to do business with them.

The service call went very well and I will hire them again.

Technician arrived mid-afternoon of the day I called. The motor had to be ordered which took a couple of days (Boehm is not a Heil representative). Replaced malfunctioning compressor fan motor. All good!

In the summer of 2011, our gas utility provider determined that our boiler put out too much CO2 and had to be replaced. I got estimates from a couple of places, and they were all comparable in price, but when Jeff Boehm came to do his estimate, he went above and beyond by spending some quality time with my wife. He also accurately measure all the windows in the house to come up with the correct size boiler, and provided us with a few options, whereas others simply quoted a price based on what they saw in the basement. The process of installing a boiler in our home was not an easy one. The existing boiler was original to the house, so Jeff arranged for another company to do the asbestos abatement and removal. By the time we got around to scheduling the replacement, it was well into the fall when Boehm does quite a bit of maintenance, but very few actual installations. Jeff scheduled an appointment to install the boiler shortly after the abatement was finished. His reason for scheduling an appointment so quickly was so my wife wouldn't be cold. Jeff and his dad worked diligently to replace the boiler. We also had them run a new radiator to my wife's bathroom when they had more time later in the winter. When they were there, Jeff noticed that a fresh air intake had been improperly installed during a previous renovation, and he re-routed it according to code. I sincerely appreciated the time Jeff took to understand our circumstances and work with my wife. He was caring and gentle, yet professional and accurate. The final cost of the work was exactly what they quoted and we are very happy with the results.

Fabulous work. Tom was patient, had expertise, thought hard and shared his thoughts about how to do a particularly difficult part of the job. He was nice and even fun to have around. He gave me all the time I needed to discuss options. Even got back with some more ideas. This is a fantastic, local company with years of experience. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to my mom, sister, or any friend or neighbor. I got multiple bids but this one was not only one of the lowest, I also felt the best about the contractor.

It was in and running in half a day. The unit works better than our previous 4 ton AC did at its best.

I would recommend Boehm's services. If I can't remember what they charged, their pricing must be an A! I will continue to use them in the future.

In the middle of one of the longest heat waves in recent memory, the air conditioner stopped working. We could tough it out, but one member of the family is not able to self-regulate body temperature well, so air conditioning in such heat is a must. We called around and got a referral for Boehme (pronounced like 'bay' with an 'm' at the end. Renee, the person who answered the phone, was sympathetic to our situation and offered to call their techs to see if they could possibly work our call in that day. Well, she kept at it, and she did. John arrived as soon as he completed his previous job. He asked for a diagnosis of the problem and got his tools. He inspected the thermostat, the blower in the furnace, and then the compressor/condensor outside. He discovered the failed capacitor quickly and, as it turns out, still had one on in stock on his truck. We then discussed that the motor was looking stressed and the fan was rotating in the wrong direction. John offered a simple repair (reversing the polarity of the motor to reverse its direction), but he did remark that he had never done that before, so he could not estimate how long the air conditioner would work that way. Given the criticality of having working a/c for our family member, we chose to replace the motor, as well. John had one of those on the truck, as well. He worked efficiently and neatly, and even things like cut tie-wrap ends were collected as trash, not just left on the ground. John was personable, explained everything clearly, and presented us options. This was not a situation in which we could comparison-shop, but I feel we were treated fairly and the price was fair and the work was done by someone who knew what he was doing. Boehme is now my choice for any future a/c work that we need (they do furnaces and boilers, too).

Tom came out the day after I called him and looked at our house inside and out - reviewed our existing furnace, ductwork, electrical and thermostat and gave us recommendation on A/C. We already had forced air heat,so the same ductwork could be used.Tom explained our options on systems and gave us the pros and cons of each. About a week later, when the weather allowed, our system was installed. All done in one day. No issues, no hassles.

This is the second time this year that Boehm has provided service. On the first occassion the boiler had gone out due to a curious child fiddling about with the machinery. That service too was prompt, quickly done and very reasonably priced. When the repair person realized waht had happened he changed gears and provided a maintenance call so that their base call out rate wasn't just for replugging a component and refilling the tank. Fabulous service by a local company! I recommend them highly.

They have been pretty responsive, helpful and on time. I've been happy with them. The price was good, but a little expensive.

Requested an estimate for a replacement fuel efficient furnace and they were the lowest price. They showed up on time and replaced our hot water furnace in one day. They returned the next day to complete a few details. I asked about a new thermostat and accepted their suggestion. Jim came out a couple of days later to install the thermostat. They worked efficiently, did a neat job and I am satisfied with the furnace. It is much quieter than the old one. From this and former experience they are honest and straightforward.

As a do-it-yourself homeowner, I couldn't have been more impressed by the repair technician, Tom. I had attempted my own furnace repair and was convinced I had missed something. Tom looked at my work, approved what I had done, and suggested where I go next. While he suggested a new furnace for greater reliability and efficiency, he also told me how to get the repair parts that would keep my old furnace going. CAUTION: DO NOT attempt your own furnace repair. Instead call Boehm.

We are new to radiator heat and we found that heat was not getting to the upstairs radiators. We called out Boehm and they immediately knew they just needed to bleed the radiators. The gentleman that came out was very helpful. He let me follow him around and taught me all about the system in our house. He also cleaned our unit while he was there and checked to make sure everything was in working order. Very helpful, very friendly.

They are just really great. Last year, we did not have them inspect it; we got somebody else to do it. When they came back the next year, they found out a part that was installed by the other people. They told us that we did not need the part and took it off. We definitely love them. They are excellent in service and their price. We had received three bids for furnaces and they came in and lowered it. I would continue to use them in the future.

Excellent! I learned a lot about my furnace and thermostat that the installers (different company) 3 years ago never bothered to tell me. That was the real value in this visit. In fact, he taught me to check several things and to do several minor maintenance things myself that I wouldn't have known to do otherwise. I really appreciated the instructional and informational approach that he took.

The heat was off in part of my house so it wasn't an emergency. Called on a Monday AM and had a service call first thing Tuesday. The repair was quick and what I had expected (a zone valve unit needed replacement). I had to make a second call on Monday to get the appointment scheduled but that was not a big deal to me. Boehm charged a $35 trip charge and $85 for about 30 minutes of work which was about what I expected.

The company could easily have kept that information to themselves, come to our house, and charged us for a service call. I'll definitely keep their help in mind and call them again if we have a similar problem.

They were all very efficient. They were very prompt, professional, and courteous. They had all the things that you would want from a service contractor. I rate them high overall.
