They did a good job and the experience went well. They showed up on time. They were thinking they are going to configure the pipes in such a way to put more heat in my granddaughter’s bedroom, but, when they actually got into the work they found that they could not do that, so, they told her about that. They installed like they said and cleaned up after themselves. They were not the cheapest, but, they were also not the most expensive.

About two months after purchasing my house, the boiler began making extremely loud hammering noises and jumping around on its slab whenever the heat came on. I had a home warranty so I called them first and they sent someone out to take a look. The first person that came out had no idea- the second spent about 20 minutes telling me all of the problems with my boiler (scaling, possible cracked block, etc..) and said it couldn't be fixed and needed to be replaced. He then seemed to go out of his way to describe the problem to the warranty company in a way that allowed them to deny coverage. So, I called Boehm heating who had previously come out to get my boiler running when I first bought the house. I'm not sure if it was by policy or coincidence, but the same person (Dave) came out that had replaced the pump and filled the boiler 2 months prior. It took him all of five minutes to diagnose the problem- the controls had failed allowing the water in the boiler to get too hot which was sending steam into the pipes. He explained exactly what had gone wrong and the options for fixing it, then had it fixed in about an hour. My boiler ran silent for the rest of the Winter. As this is my first boiler, I hovered around asking questions while he was working and he answered all of my questions and explained not just what he was fixing, but also some "boiler basics". In all of my interactions with Boehm heating, I have found them to be knowledgeable and professional and I highly recommend them.

Great experience. Got three estimates and chose Boehm. They were very knowledgeable through the entire process and provided good guidance about how to choose a boiler and fit it to the existing structures. They were the only ones who really knew what was already there and modified their estimate to fit - e.g., we had a nearly new high quality pump and Boehm recognized this, recommended we keep it, and was able to lower their bid because of it. They also estimated for and subcontracted removal of an old asbestos tank. For this part of the job the actual cost was only half of the estimate provided. That's integrity!

Process of installing these systems in a house with hot water heat is very labor intensive. Entire house must have air tubing installed. It took 3 men nearly 4 days. The most amazing part is that each evening when I arrived home, there was very little evidence they had been there. My wife said "These are the cleanest workmen I've ever seen!" Given all the plaster they had to drill through, they have a great system of containing the mess. All floors and stairs were covered with drop cloths and plastic. Each night they would clean up any mess that they had made, including using a Swifter on the floor. It was an incredibly easy experience, especially given the amount of work that was done for the project. System works great. The house cools completely even. The system is reasonably quiet inside with just a slight air noise (similar to white noise). It's such a huge improvement over the 3 window units that were used before, it's like being in a new house. Also, the unit that is outside is very quiet. I told them this was important given how close the Minneapolis houses are to each other, and they used a unit that you don't hear until you are within 10-12' away. It's quiter then the window unit I had stuck in the side of the house before. Jim, Jeff and John Boehm are all extremely professional, nice and considerate. They addressed all the concerns I had and were able to accomodate most of my requests for air vent placements. They didn't put vents were it was easiest for them to install, but were it made the most sense for cooling and comfort in the house. I've seen an install from another contractor that had minimal consideration for the owners comfort, therefore I appreciate their approach.

Jim Boehm did the estimate and the work, he came on time for the estimate and worked with me on placement of units as well as discussing options and making sure that the system fit our needs. The proposal was mailed to us promptly. We got two quotes, the other was almost twice as high. With two very good personal recommendations and their stellar rating on Angie's List, we just went ahead with Boehm rather than get another estimate. The work was done as scheduled, everyone was very pleasant and professional. Boehm brought Countryman electrical to do the electrical work, and he was wonderful as well and we will probably just call him when we need electrical work. The project took about a day and a half and was exactly as promised. We could not be happier with our experiences with Boehm and recommend them without reservation.

My experience was excellent. I called them because the fan on my old furnace wasn't working. He told me that it was starting to rust. My furnace was eighteen years old and I decided to get it replaced. He told me that it would eventually have to be replaced. He scheduled an appointment and I had a new furnace a week later. They installed it in a day.

It all started when we noticed our furnace was blowing cold air instead of warm air during a winter night. We could feel and see our house was getting cold. It was after midnight during the week and we called three places listed in the phone book offering emergency services. Boehm heating was the only one who responded shortly after we left a phone message for their emergency services. Mr. Boehm arrived at our house within the time frame he told me he would and he carefully cleaned the themocouple and once again we had heat. Later in the morning cold air once again was blowing out of the heat vent and we turned off the furnace. At 6 AM I turned on the furnace and had warm air for a short period of time before it turned cold again. We made the decision to replace our out of date furnace and Boehm Heating was available later in the date to write up the estimate and do the work the next day. They left good instructions for us on how to do annual maintenance and with a better understanding of our heating system.

The estimate was very thorough, including measuring all the radiators space to be heated to install the correct size of boiler which is smaller than what we had and will help save energy. They were prompt for all appointments. The installation went smoothly. When I had concern regarding a noise, they came back promptly, made an adjustment and everything is working well.

Jerry explained what he was doing and schooled me on the worn out part and how to check and clean/replace the part in the future. The price Boehm charged me was reasonable given the emergency and the part was price included.

Very well. Jim is a true gentleman. Very concerned about our satisfaction. He came after hours, he responded to questions over the phone and came back to recheck work without pay - he asked us to donate the money to a homeless shelter rather than pay him. Very satisfied with Boehm heating.

My appointment was scheduled for between 12:30 and 3:30. Tom's office called at 3:00, telling me he was enroute. When Tom arrived he slipped off his shoes upon entry and made sure I knew he was Tom "Jr." as his father, Tom Sr., still made service calls. Tom was informative and courteous and kept me abreast of his findings throughout the process. The firm applied a Senior discount of 10%.

He was late but called to say he'd be delayed. He got the work done promptly when he arrived. He didn't follow up on a missing pressure gauge he said he'd call back with an estimate for.

They took about an hour to do the inspection. He was very knowledgeable. He has a few concerns with the pressure in our tank so he drained water out of it to fix that.

At first, I had a hard time getting somebody to come to the house. I made an appointment, but the technician didn't show. Then I called to complain about the no show, and the receptionist didn't call me back to say why or how I could have service. Eventually, I had Tom Boehm, Sr. at my house to look over our boiler and I felt it was worth the wait. Tom has been doing this for a long time and made me feel confident that he would take proper care of our boiler replacement. Boehm's price was lower than their competitors' (I had been researching replacement because we knew the boiler was going bad) and when our boiler went out during the super-cold snap, Boehm replaced it within 16 hours. Not bad at all. New boiler is working great, installers were very nice and thorough.

Overall for having the furnace go out in the middle of winter, I think it went great. I was expecting to pay much more, but Tom indicated he only charged day fees, as the call came in as his last call of the day.

Woke up at 4:00 am to a cold house. Our original 1916 boiler (converted from coal, to oil, to gas at some point) and we call it "the behemoth", was off (no heat) even though the pilot light was still lit. During the service call Jack explained about possible problems with old hot water systems like ours and answered all my questions from obvious experience. Basically, the less we mess around with this the better since we're up and running. Jack suggested we might want to be a bit more proactive once Spring arrives (if we make it through with the "behemoth") as our 1916 boiler is decades beyond it's life-cycle and will require considerable work when replaced, including asbestos removal (another one those old house headaches at a large expense). As Jack said, we really don't want to be caught like this with no heat for two weeks in the dead of winter if it can be avoided. Jack saved the day and our Christmas. I feel very fortunate to have read the reviews of numerous other old house owners with boilers who said Boehm Heating Co. is the one to call. I will definitely be in touch for an estimate for the new boiler installation when the time comes. I hope it's not until Spring!

Very good. Technician explained the system and answered all questions thoroughly. I really like this type of heat, and technician agreed it was "the best."

Jeff can over to give an estimate and did a wonderful job of explaining the old boiler and features of a replacement. Did a very through job of evaluating the house, etc. Jeff prepared the estimate and faxed it to me the next day. Was willing to work us in the schedule within a day. Very impressed by the professionalism. Another bid came in a little lower with rebates, etc so we ended up going with them.

Went well. Very informative. Found that not enough water was in system and boiler wasn't operating properly. Helped with bleeding radiators.

For a non-emergency service issue, I had to call months in advance. When they came they were professional and complete. They asked the right questions and explained our system to me.

They were good about educating the consumer. They suggested ways to improve the temperature control in our basement. They listened to what we wanted and supplied solutions that would fit our needs.

We had existing forced air heat and needed to add just one new cold air return. The job was very routine, but they were very knowledgeable and explained all of the options we had regarding different sizes/types of condensers. They also helped us get an energy rebate.

Estimate was very good, all went well. I decided to wait for next year.

The tech arrived on time and did a very nice job of installing a new humidifier on my old furnace.
