Description of Work: Installed a new gas boiler to replace a very old oil boiler. This involved installing a new gas line and boiler, removing the old oil boiler and fuel tank, and waiting for required city inspections. Once the process started all went smoothly and things happened in a timely fashion.

Description of Work: Jeff Boehm, his father Jim, and their employee Glenn installed central air conditioning in our 2000 square foot two-story house that was built in 1964. We have hot-water baseboard heating and, hence, no duct work in the house. We had the additional complication of a family room that had been added to the rear of the house. We had gotten four estimates on the job. There were several reasons why we chose Boehm. Jeff and his father both looked at the configuration of the house to determine the feasibility of a successful installation. They both climbed into the attic, where the Space Pak unit sits, and they both peered under the bathtub through the plumbing access door. Because the ducts that carry the cold air to the main floor of the house come down through the insides of the upstairs closets, they had to figure out how to get air to the main floor rooms that didn't have closets directly above them. They were able to thread the ducts in between the floor joists to get to those rooms. The ducts to the family room had to be threaded through the joists under the bathtub to come out high on the wall of the family room. We took comfort in the fact that Jeff and Jim did the estimate, and they were the ones who, as Jeff said, were going to be crawling in the attic on their bellies in some cases. The other estimates that we had gotten were done by salesmen and not the people who were actually going to be doing the work. One of those salesmen said that he wasn't sure that they would be able to get air to the family room. Jeff and Jim and Glenn were all wonderful to work with. They always came exactly when they said they were going to come and did a good job of communicating. As an example of how comfortable we felt with them, we gave them our house key to use when we weren't going to be home. Every day they cleaned up beautifully. They used drop cloths from the front door , up the stairs, and down the upstairs hallway, and they have a method of catching the dust that falls when they drilled the two inch holes in the ceilings. At the end of the day, after the drop cloth was removed, Jeff came down and got my vacuum and vacuumed the upstairs hall and all down the stairs. The final cost of the project was exactly what they said that it was going to be and was commensurate with the estimates from the other companies. As I was just reviewing the other estimates, I noticed that at least one said that the cost did not include the cost of the drain pipe type covering for the cold air tube going from the condenser located outside to the attic Boehm's total did. The cost of the electrician was additional to the estimated cost, which we knew from the start. We were billed by and paid that directly to the electrician. Boehm arranged for and paid for the permits and inspections that were required. Oveall, we were extremely pleased and, in fact, we have them scheduled to put in a new furnace this fall to replace the forty-eight year old one that we have right now.

We have used this company before for furnace repair and to install air conditioning units in our house. We like and trust their work. They are also very pleasant to deal with over the phone and in person.
