After doing a search and getting some possibilities for HVAC companies on Angie's List, Paul from Air Knights contacted me within 45 seconds of hitting "Send" (no joke). He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, was able to get the right part, was able to get to my place within 2 hours, and fixed the problem in under 15 minutes. Such a relief in this -20 degree weather. I'd highly recommend them.

Great service. Paul was prompt, courteous and professional. He clearly explained what was happening with the furnace, why it was not producing heat and the broken part was causing a monoxide leak. He was able to find the part and have it installed. He walked me through the billing and options. I was pleased with the work and would recommend their services.

A different company said the unit was not repairable, and quoted $30,000 for installing a new unit. Paul took a look at it, and, for less than a tenth of that price, gave us a working system.

Fantastic service! They came out same day for no extra charge in the late evening. Explained everything so we understood what was being done, gave us options for us to decide, were very polite and courteous while working in our home. After everything was completed Paul took the time to explain what was completed, our warranty, a rebate from CenterPoint and other tips for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Air Knights really do deserve the 5 stars!!!

It went very well. The serviceman was able to do everything in about 4 hours. Removed old components and installed and tested new ones. New system is very energy-efficient and so quiet. He cleaned up after himself very well and was courteous, prompt, kept me apprised as to how the job was going. I would hire Air Knights again for any HVAC needs. Highly recommend them.

Fabulous! Really enjoyed working with owner - very responsive, picks up every call you make to him and completed job on schedule.

Paul answered my query through Angie's List within one minute (even on a Sunday) and we were able to schedule his eval the following day. He was punctual and courteous, looked at the furnace and quickly determined that there was "flame roll out", showed this to me and stated that this meant we needed a new heat exchanger. Price $3800 installed. Or we could replace the furnace with a better unit and get a 10-year warranty for $5800. I said that I was going to get a second opinion and would likely be getting back with him. Next day a different HVAC person came in, and I did not mention the opinion from Paul. Turns out that the air intake pipe on the unit was blocked, so there was insufficient draft across the burners to direct the flame into the heat exchanger. When that blockage was corrected, no more flame roll out. Charge for service was $200. Also, the heat exchanger was checked and working fine (zero CO in the furnace area or in the exhaust pipe). I called Paul back to tell him this, and at first he responded that he would remember this as a cause of the flame roll out. But the conversation deteriorated when he started to insist that he was the one who "recommended" I get a second opinion. He didn't argue against my getting a second opinion, but it most certainly was not his idea that I do so. Bottom line, paying for a second opinion is worth it.

I was referred to Paul through American Shield Home Warranty service. They advised that it would be a $60 service charge just to have him come out and look at it. We were fine with that because I urge unit had stopped cooling the inside of our house. Paul showed up the same day we called. He said he just needed to charge the refrigerant. A day later, our house still wasn't cool. He came back promptly again after hearing that there were no changes in our house's temperature. He discovered that the compressor needed replacing which he did for an extra $300 - he said American Home Shield wouldn't cover it and we shouldn't make a claim to them. So we took him at his word & paid him in cash in desperation to have air conditioning. Well, it's been a year now and I've tried numerous times to reach Paul in reference to our air conditioning not working again.
