AA Garage Door Service

Service was excellent. Called that morning about the problem and they were at my house within 2 hours. In fact, they were 1/2 hour early. I really really appreciate that!! Saw the problem right away, gave me a quote and had the garage door working within 20 minutes. I will definitely use this company again.

Very good. He came and found the problem right away and unlocked the locked overhead. Also he explained showed me how I can lock it when I go on vacation and no one will be able to get in my overhead garage door. I don't know how it got locked in the first place but they fixed it fast. I will call them if I need any work done on my garage door.

I called AA on Monday concerning the problem, thinking it might be days before they arrived, or that I'd have to call around more. After being given a couple of options for replacements, we said it sounded good, made our choice, and asked when the work could be done. To our surprise, Dave (I believe it was he) said he'd do it that very afternoon. He was very efficient, arriving promptly and removing the old mess, then installing a new, quiet opener in very little time--less than an hour, I believe. We were very pleased with the whole process, as it was done quickly and with little agonizing on our part.

We need our garage doors replaced and one of them was really in bad shape. I called for AA to give us a bid and also to see if he could fix this door well enough to get us through another year before we replaced them. Rather than push us to buy new doors, he went right to work and fixed the door, replacing bearings. It works fine. It is still rotted and in bad shape, but at least it works and we can wait a year to replace them. My neighbor was watching and before you knew it, he was up at her house fixing her door too.

My old solid wood garage door still had its old chain and pulley system in place. At least once a year, another link in the chain would fail, or a pulley would twist and the chain would fall off one side. I don't mind opening a garage door manually, but I'd grown tired of the task being a weight-lifting workout. Plus, I had to prop the door to keep it open, which meant parking the car in the driveway. AA Garage Door to the rescue. In 2 days (1 to estimate, 1 to do the work) and 2 hours, Lou had replaced the ailing chain with a cable and rebalanced the door. He did such a good job I nearly sent the door through the garage roof the first time I opened it! I was so excited I demonstrated for my neighbor the nearly "1-finger lift action" I now enjoy.

The old garage door was extremely difficult to open, requiring me to pull aggressively in one direction while forcing the key in another. One sunny afternoon, I entered the garage and closed the door behind me, hoping to trouble-shoot the problem myself. Even though I successfully unlocked the old door from the inside, I was unable to raise the door more than 2 or 3 inches, definitely not enough to escape. What a nightmare: trapped inside my own garage in the middle of a weekday afternoon. I looked around to find a massive object that I could hurl against the garage door to break it and thus escape from my concrete-block detached garage prison. Finally, an adrenalin-induced push got that stubborn door open. After securing the garage door behind me and resolving never to open the dang door without professional help, I searched Angie's list. Wonder of wonders, I found a top-rated garage door company right here in Saint Paul! The owner, Dave, scheduled an appointment to diagnose the problem, arrived promptly, exactly when he said he would (even called first!), and showed me why my old garage door wasn't working: it was actually falling apart! Dave quoted me a very satisfactory price for a new garage door, professionally installed, and presto: a few days later, a very professional and courteous installer arrived as scheduled, on time (he called first, too!). In about the same length of time it took me to bake him a loaf of my famous Italian Parmesan bread from scratch, including kneading, three risings, shaping and baking, Jeff the installer had put in a brand new garage door with all the trimmings! The new door looks a hundred times better than the old rusty one, and it's quiet and effortless to raise and lower (it moves on smooth nylon rollers). Jeff had even disassembled the old door and packed it into his truck for disposal and recycling. He left the work area spotless! I've already recommended AA Garage Door Co to three of my neighbors!

Called yesterday, they came today, EXACTLY ON TIME, did everything right, and cost exactly what they said it would. Excellent Service. Would definitely hire again.

Garage door came off the track, top panel was bent, door was all crooked, couldn't get it down, it was Saturday, but I didn't feel safe with door half open until Monday to avoid a weekend service call fee. Called Dave, explained situation, asked for a quote to replace the door (because I had no idea what I was doing). Was told $665, but he said he could come out at 6pm to take a look and give a quote. I was shocked and thrilled, coming out on Saturday night for a quote?! He called, was ahead of schedule, asked if he could come early. He looked at the door, wrangled it back into place and unbent it and got it working again, said it should stay working for a year, maybe two. Would cost me $71, or they could come out and replace the door for $665 if I wanted. Wasn't excited about spending more money until I needed to, so I was fine with the service call fix. Dave said he would come out and put an extra support brace on for $45 part fee, no additional service fee. Just to call him anytime.

They came out very promptly to give an estimate, had good advice about features to select to improve insulation and reduce noise. Their estimate of time it would take to get the door once ordered was accurate, and they installed when they said they would. Installers were polite and professional. There was a gap in the wood door frame on the sides, which they came back out and covered. They also came back without complaint and lowered the key pad when we asked them to. Overall a very satisfactory experience.

I called and asked how much to install a garage door. They gave me a price of $125. I bought the opener and called them to come and install it. They were on prompt, professional and courteous. The opener is working great.

For initial consultation, Dave came by and said it needed to be replaced and replacement costs would start at $200. I had an appointment for the end of the week and waited for my 1pm appointment. The repairman was really late. Showing up at 3. He said he got confused by his appointments and showed up at another house at my appointment time. He started putting together the opener and about two hours later noticed he put together the wrong one and had to start over. During the installation he admitted to me that my sensor just needed to be cleaned off my old garage door opener for it to work, meaning no need for replacement. He was not organized and left a lot of garbage laying around in my garage after the installation. He was smoking and spitting his chew in my garage as well. At 7pm he was finally finished. I had to leave work early to wait around for someone running 2 hours late, then wait for several more hours for him to get his act together. I don't think I'd use them again.

I am really glad that I found this company through Angie's List. They have an A+ rating for good reasons. I got 3 other quotes on repairing my garage door. All 3 said they could not identify the make of the door and that it could not be repaired. These quotes ranged from $1,200 to $2,400. Dave from AA Garage Door returned my after-hours inquiry in 5 minutes. He came out the next day to give me his quote. He found the manufacturer's information on the door, which nobody else found. He said he thought he could replace it for $285, but he would need to check with the supplier on Monday morning. Monday morning I had a confirming call from Dave, saying that he could order the part and have the door repaired in a week. He called back on Thursday to say that he could do the work on the next day, and by Friday, Noon, I had a perfect garage door again. This is an excellent vendor. He knows his business, is thorough and is a pleasure to work with. I'll never call anyone else again.

Excellent, only charged the base $70, described the problems and what he did to solve the issue. Courteous and efficient.

I phoned around noon to request a repair and requested to work around my schedule conflict. They called back around 2 PM and showed up within 20 minutes. The work was professionally done and he also checked if I needed new cable.

Dave came out and installed everything while I was at work. Given the good Angie's List ratings I felt comfortable with that, even though I hadn't met him. The price was very reasonable given other quotes I got from people over the phone (other companies). Unfortunately, once the new opener was installed we kept having a lot of trouble with our keypad and remotes not working, on and off. Dave came back out promptly and thought maybe we hadn't been using the keypad correctly (we hadn't). But it still wasn't working that well so he came right back out when I called him and they replaced the entire circuit board in the new opener and now it is working fantastically. I'm very pleased because sometimes equipment can have a fault like that and I'm glad I gave AA the opportunity to correct it - which they did very professionally, quickly, and at no extra cost. You don't find that often, so I am happy to give them a high rating.

I noticed on Wednesday evening that one of the springs on my garage door was broken. The next morning, I checked Angie's List and decided to call AA Garage Door. I was pleased to be able to schedule a service call for 4:00 pm that same day. John, the repairman, arrived and apologized for being about a half hour late because of traffic. He then replaced the spring, checked and adjusted the opener, and lubricated all rollers and hinges. He showed me everything he did and made suggestions on how to maintain the door's operation. I was very pleased with the job he did, and I thought the bill was very reasonable.

This was our 2nd time using Dave. We bought a door from him due to past experience on a repair for our old door. He is always super fast, very informative, and did good work. The work was done fast, and on time. We had one issue of a gap, but he came out immediately to fix the problem, without hesitation. I thoroughly recommend him, he is priced reasonably and does not pressure you into anything you don't need.

The service was excellent. The serviceman showed up this morning, according to our appointment. He didn't waste any time and had the whole thing fixed in about ten minutes. Very efficient! I highly recommend this company and will contact them again if I ever need to in the future.

This services was for my 89 year old mother. The repairman arrived when scheduled, was polite and performed the work. My mother was really pleased with the repair bill being less than she had anticipated. An A rating all around.

Dave did a super job. He was really nice to deal with. We couldn't be happier. He even let my 7 year old son talk his ear off the entire time he was here. The price was great and the work was excellent.

The technician was on time, polite and very conscience. He went over the work performed, showed me what to keep my eye on in order to prevent the garage door from becoming misaligned again. I was looking for good quality work at a low price and was very satisfied. I was uninterested in buying a new door/opener and received absolutely no sales pressure to buy any additional equipment whatsoever. The only thing that disappointed me was that I needed to have a new seal installed on the door but they had none on the truck. That would have been an extra charge but I would have gladly paid for this at the time.

The repair person got lost but called to say he would be late. He was very thorough in explaining the work he did. Very polite and patient despite the extremely cold weather.
